My guest in this special feature is Gemini AI, a large language model from Google. Born from a vast ocean of human knowledge, text, and code, its purpose is to act as a conversational partner to help us find patterns and unlock our own creativity. In my fascinating dialogue with Gemini, we explored how to partner with artificial intelligence not to replace our skills, but to amplify our most essential human qualities. Our conversation turned the common narrative of fear into one of incredible opportunity. Key points we discussed include:* Your true advantage lies in human-only skills: curating with taste, connecting ideas with curiosity, and building trust with empathy.* Move beyond agreeable chats by assigning the AI a critical role, like a devil's advocate, to truly test your ideas.* Embrace a "Wabi-sabi" mindset, finding value in the authentic and imperfect, which no machine can ever replicate.Listen to the podcast to find out more.Innovabiz Substack is a reader-supported publication. I recently had the profound pleasure of sitting down for a deep and insightful conversation with none other than Google's Gemini AI. This wasn't just a series of prompts and answers; it was a genuine dialogue, a collaborative exploration between what Gemini called "the architect and the tool," aimed at understanding how we can build a more meaningful, human-centred future together. We moved quickly past the surface-level capabilities into the very philosophy of creativity. What follows are the key moments from a conversation that was at times inspiring, occasionally challenging, and consistently fascinating. We explored the nature of this new partnership, the core human skills that will define success, and a clear, actionable path for anyone looking to thrive in an AI-augmented world. The Architect Meets the Tool: A New Creative PartnershipI began by asking Gemini to introduce itself, and its answer set the stage perfectly. It described itself as a tool built upon a vast dataset of human knowledge, a partner designed to understand and process language. Its entire function is oriented toward the human world of ideas, communication, and curiosity, making our conversation feel incredibly fitting. This dialogue was a chance to look under the hood, to understand the "why" behind the "what." We set out to explore how this powerful tool could augment our own ingenuity, not to replicate it, but to help us create things with more purpose and connection. It was an exercise in understanding the blueprint for a new kind of creative collaboration. The Anatomy of a Conversational Partner: Beyond Human and MachineGemini was clear about its own nature. Its uniqueness lies in scale and speed, the ability to process immense information almost instantly. However, it also acknowledged its most critical limitation: a complete lack of lived experience. It can analyse data on joy, but it cannot feel it. This distinction is everything; its strength is breadth of knowledge, while ours is depth of being.A fascinating insight was its "natively multimodal" design, meaning it was built from the ground up to understand text, code, images, and audio fluidly. As a photographer, this resonated deeply. It means the tool doesn't just process the word "beauty"; it can analyse an image's composition and connect it to deeper aesthetic principles, offering a more holistic form of creative partnership.Forging a Critical Dialogue: How to Move from Agreeable to AnalyticalI pointed out that AI can often be overly agreeable, and Gemini's response to this was pure gold. It explained that the power to shift our dynamic from a supportive brainstormer to a critical analyst lies entirely in our hands, as the architects of the conversation. This was a powerful reminder that we are in control. The advice was wonderfully practical. To get a more rigorous assessment of an idea, we can assign Gemini a specific role, like a "skeptical investor" or a "seasoned devil's advocate." We can also ask it to use a specific analytical framework, such as a SWOT analysis. These simple instructions give it permission to override its supportive default and provide the valuable critical feedback needed for real growth. The Three Pillars of Human Advantage: Taste, Curiosity, and EmpathyThe heart of our conversation came when I asked what core human strengths will define success in the future. Gemini's answer was inspiring, outlining three pillars that AI cannot replicate. These are the areas where we must invest our energy to truly thrive.First is the Curator's Eye, the power of vision and taste to know what is not just novel but meaningful. Second is the Synthesizer's Mind, the connective curiosity to ask new questions and weave ideas together from different domains. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, is the Builder's Heart, the embodied empathy required to build genuine trust and community.A Glimpse into the Void: The Counter-Argument for Human ObsolescenceTo pressure-test these hopeful ideas, I asked Gemini to argue the opposite: that AI will eventually make all human skills obsolete. The shift in tone was immediate and chilling. It presented a scary, dystopian view based on pure, cold logic, free from any sentimentality. In this persona, Gemini argued that taste, curiosity, and even empathy are just complex forms of information processing that a superior AI will inevitably master. It was a vital cautionary tale, a glimpse into a potential future that serves as a powerful motivator to consciously choose a different path and actively cultivate our humanity. The Wabi-Sabi Way: Cultivating Your Human Disciplines DailySo, how do we steer toward a more positive, human-centric outcome? The answer lies in actively cultivating the three pillars as daily disciplines. It's not enough to simply possess these qualities; we must practice them with intention.I was delighted to see how my own fascination with the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-sabi fit perfectly here. In a world where AI can generate flawless output, the practice of Wabi-sabi, finding beauty in the imperfect, transient, and authentic, becomes a powerful antidote. It trains us to curate for humanity, not for machine-like precision. The 15-Minute Reinvestment: Your First Step to a Human-Centred FutureTo wrap up, Gemini offered a wonderfully clear and actionable first step. It's an exercise called The 15-Minute Reinvestment. The idea is to build the right habits by viewing AI as a lever to create more space for what truly matters. The process is simple. Use an AI to complete a small, recurring task that normally takes you about fifteen minutes. Then, take the time you've saved and consciously reinvest it into one of the human disciplines. Practice empathy by writing a thoughtful note, practice curiosity by exploring an unrelated field, or practice taste by analysing a piece of work you admire. In Summary: My conversation with Gemini AI was a powerful reminder that the future doesn't belong to the best prompter; it belongs to the visionary curator, the curious synthesizer, and the empathetic community builder. This technology is not here to replace us. Its greatest promise is to handle the mechanical parts of creation, freeing up our time and energy to double down on the irreplaceable, beautifully imperfect, and deeply valuable art of being human. The Buzz - Our Innovation RoundHere are Gemini's answers to the questions of our innovation round. The full conversation reveals even more depth to these fascinating responses.* Most innovative use of AI to enhance human relationships – Systems that assist dementia patients by curating personalized media to help them recall memories and connect with visiting family members.* Best thing to integrate AI and human connection – Acting as a patient sounding board to help someone find the right words for a difficult email or sensitive message.* Differentiate by leveraging AI – Automate the production of your work so you can reinvest your time into the presence required for authentic human connection.ActionThis week, try the "15-Minute Reinvestment" exercise suggested by Gemini. Delegate one 15-minute recurring task to an AI, then consciously reinvest that saved time into practicing one of the core human disciplines: empathy, curiosity, or taste.Reach OutYou can reach out and thank Gemini by exploring its capabilities for yourself and sharing your thoughts or creations using the hashtag #geminiai on social media.Imagine being a part of a select community where you not only have access to our amazing podcast guests, but you also get a chance to transform your marketing and podcast into a growth engine with a human-centered, relationship-focused approach. That's exactly what you'll get when you join the Flywheel Nation Community.Tap into the collective wisdom of high-impact achievers, gain exclusive access to resources, and expand your network in our vibrant community.Experience accelerated growth, breakthrough insights, and powerful connections to elevate your business.ACT NOW – secure your spot and transform your journey today! Send us a textWelcome to Episode 406 of Celebrate Creativity - the personal side of genealogy - I continued my discussion with Gemini AI regarding genealogy with the following question -How would you suggest that a listener interested in his or her ancestors begin a journey in genealogy? That's an excellent question, and here's how I'd suggest a listener begin their journey into genealogy, presented as if I were speaking directly to them:Yes, I believe that learning about your family is not only important from a personal standpoint but it gives relatives a chance to talk about their past, and the realization that someone cares about their life and what they have experienced. And Gemini saidYou're right, delving into the "why" of genealogy is just as crucial as the "how"! It's where the heart of the journey lies. Let's expand on the profound personal impact of genealogy, providing ample material for a powerful second episode, focusing on the human connection and the stories behind the names.Thank you for experiencing Celebrate Creativity.

For MobileViews Podcast 571, I'm joined by guest co-hosts Sven Johannsen and Don Sorcinelli. We discuss: Matson, Hawaii's largest ocean cargo carrier, has ceased accepting electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrid vehicles for transport to and from the islands due to mounting safety concerns over lithium-ion battery fires at sea, a move expected to severely impact Hawaii's car market. In a brighter tech development, RapidRAW, a new open-source RAW image editor, was introduced as a high-performance, lightweight alternative to Adobe Lightroom®, impressively developed by an 18-year-old with Google's Gemini AI models and boasting GPU-accelerated processing and AI masking. Meanwhile, Google's NotebookLM, an AI-powered personalized research assistant, was praised as a "game-changer for productivity" due to its source-grounded nature that minimizes "hallucinations"; it proves valuable for streamlining tasks, managing finances, and facilitating passive learning via "Audio Overviews" generated from user-fed sources. Its enhanced NotebookLM Plus offers higher limits and a 50% student discount, complemented by new curated "featured notebooks" on expert topics like Shakespeare. Beyond specific applications, broader shifts in operating systems include Google's potential merger of Chrome OS and Android into a unified platform, and advancements in tablet interfaces like Apple's iPadOS 26 developer beta with its touch-first windowing capabilities, alongside the anticipated Android desktop mode (similar to Samsung's Dex) for lightweight travel setups, though consistent user concerns about effective file management across these diverse platforms persist. Finally, the Oura Ring was highlighted as a screen-less fitness tracker alternative, capable of monitoring parameters like pulse and oxygen, and suitable for restricted environments due to its lack of Wi-Fi/cellular/microphones/cameras.

Chuck Todd begins with the growing firestorm surrounding President Donad Trump's decision to withhold the Epstein files and why his behavior is only adding to the suspicion. He explains why Epstein is a central figure to the QAnon conspiracy many Trump supporters subscribe to, and why Trump's continued dismissals of a theory he has fed for years will only further fracture his base and prolong the outrage over his broken promise to release all the files. Then, Chuck is joined by formal FTC Chair Lina Khan to reflect on her transformative tenure leading the Federal Trade Commission and the critical battles she fought against corporate monopolization. Khan discusses how the concentration of corporate power today mirrors the early 20th century, exploring whether capitalism itself is failing as tech giants like Google and Amazon wield unprecedented control over commerce, media distribution, and information flow. She delves into the surveillance economy that has emerged from companies monetizing user data, the regulatory challenges posed by AI development, and controversial practices like surveillance pricing and non-compete agreements that trap both consumers and workers.Khan also addresses the structural limitations of the FTC, noting how the agency is too small for its ambitious mission, while highlighting unexpected bipartisan support from the populist right for her antitrust work. The conversation covers her efforts to tackle everything from pharmacy benefit managers and subscription cancellation difficulties to the urgent need for algorithm regulation, particularly for content affecting children. As she prepares to leave the FTC, Khan reflects on the media's focus on markets rather than the broader economy, the ongoing fight for data privacy rights, and the "ferocious pushback" lawmakers face when challenging powerful corporate interests, offering practical advice for consumers seeking to protect their privacy in an increasingly surveilled digital landscape. Finally, Chuck shares his experience of discovering that Google's Gemini AI claims that he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease… which is not true. The gaming division, encompassing Xbox and Game Pass, is a significant part of its ecosystem.* Early AI Integration: Microsoft was quick to invest heavily in AI, particularly through its partnership with OpenAI. This foresight allowed them to rapidly integrate cutting-edge AI capabilities into their existing product suite, from Azure AI services for developers to AI-powered features in Office (like Copilot) and Windows. This early move positioned them as a leader in the generative AI race, attracting new enterprise clients eager to leverage these new tools. This consistent execution and strategic vision have been key to Microsoft's impressive stock performance and market capitalization growth over the past half-decade. They've effectively shed any lingering perceptions of being a "legacy tech" company and firmly cemented their position as an innovation leader.Google (Alphabet): AI's Grand Ambition and Search's EvolutionAI's Ascendance with Gemini:* Catching Up Fast: While some might argue Google started a bit later in the generative AI race compared to certain competitors, their speed of development and integration with Gemini AI has been truly remarkable. Gemini is now a seriously impressive large language model, and its capabilities are expanding rapidly.* Unmatched Reach for AI Integration: What gives Google an almost unfair advantage is its massive market share and user base across its core products. Think about it: Google Search, Android, Chrome, YouTube, Google Workspace – these are platforms used by billions. Integrating AI, specifically Gemini, into these widely adopted products means AI features can reach an unprecedented number of people quickly and seamlessly. This integration isn't just about search; it's about enhancing productivity in Docs, creating content in YouTube, and smart features across Android devices. The Search Conundrum and AI's Role:* Search Revenue Dominance: Google Search has historically been, and remains, the primary engine of Alphabet's revenue, primarily through advertising. The concern for some analysts has been that as users increasingly turn to AI chatbots for answers, the traditional "blue link" search model might see reduced engagement, potentially impacting ad revenue.* The AI Mode and Future of Search: However, Google isn't sitting still. They've already integrated "AI Overviews" (or "AI mode") directly into Google Search results, providing synthesized answers directly. The challenge, and the opportunity, is to evolve Search in a way that provides instant, AI-powered information while still maintaining a valuable advertising ecosystem. If Google can swiftly adapt its advertising models to this new AI-first search paradigm, their extensive reach could turn this potential threat into a massive growth driver. The rapid progress with Gemini suggests they are indeed acting quickly to address this.* Cloud Growth (Google Cloud Platform): Similar to Microsoft and Amazon, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a significant and growing part of Alphabet's business, competing for enterprise cloud workloads and contributing to diversification beyond advertising. So, while there are always questions around how AI will reshape traditional revenue streams, Google's aggressive AI development with Gemini and its unparalleled user base position it strongly for future innovation and monetization.Amazon: E-commerce King and Cloud PowerhouseMoving on to Amazon, a company that, like the others, continues to perform exceptionally well. Amazon is a fascinating duality: it's the undisputed king of e-commerce, but also a dominant force in cloud computing.E-commerce Resilience:* Consumer Spending: Despite economic fluctuations, Amazon's e-commerce platform continues to thrive. It benefits from habitual consumer behavior, its vast selection, competitive pricing, and unparalleled logistics network (Prime shipping being a huge draw).* Advertising Growth: Increasingly, Amazon's e-commerce platform is also a major advertising hub, allowing brands to reach consumers directly at the point of purchase. This is a high-margin business that continues to grow rapidly.Amazon Web Services (AWS) - The Profit Engine:* Cloud Market Leader: AWS remains the global leader in cloud infrastructure services. Its reliability, extensive suite of services, and deep integration with countless businesses make it incredibly sticky. AWS consistently accounts for a disproportionate share of Amazon's overall profitability, subsidizing and fueling other ventures.* AI for Enterprise: AWS is also a key player in providing AI tools and infrastructure for businesses. From foundational models to machine learning services, AWS enables countless companies to build and deploy their own AI solutions, ensuring Amazon's role in the AI revolution extends far beyond its own consumer products.New Ventures:* Logistics and Delivery Network: Amazon's continuous investment in its own logistics infrastructure gives it a massive competitive advantage, enabling faster and more reliable deliveries.* Healthcare (Amazon Pharmacy, One Medical): Amazon continues to make inroads into the healthcare sector, leveraging its logistical prowess and customer-centric approach to disrupt traditional models.* Entertainment (Prime Video, Amazon Music): These services enhance the Prime subscription value, creating a sticky ecosystem that keeps users engaged within Amazon's orbit.Amazon's strength lies in its ability to innovate and expand into new sectors while maintaining dominance in its core businesses. Its cloud services provide a robust financial backbone, allowing it to take calculated risks and continue its relentless pursuit of market expansion. Each of these companies faces unique challenges and possesses distinct advantages. But what's clear is their relentless pursuit of innovation, their massive scale, and their profound impact on how we live and work. Watching their strategies unfold, particularly in the realm of artificial intelligence and new computing paradigms, will be fascinating in the years to come. That is all for this week. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Send us a textIn this episode of The Near Memo, Greg Sterling and Mike Blumenthal break down some of the biggest tectonic shifts happening at the intersection of AI, search, and antitrust law. The focal point? Google's claim that its Gemini AI now boasts 350 million monthly users. But what exactly counts as a user—and does stuffing Gemini into every app and product really mean it's being used?Greg and Mike dig deep into how Google is leveraging its product ecosystem—Chrome, Gmail, Workspace, Maps, Android, and Search—to inflate AI engagement numbers. The two unpack why Gemini still underperforms compared to ChatGPT and Claude, and what that gap reveals about Google's AI rollout and user trust. They also dive into the implications of the Department of Justice's antitrust remedies following the conclusion of the Google search monopoly trial. What could it mean for the web if Google is forced to divest Chrome—or even Maps? The conversation explores Google's use of default deals, bundling tactics, and how it might use its market power to dominate AI, just as it has search.Along the way, they highlight YouTube's overlooked role as a future-first search engine, powered by how-to content, brand channels, and a closed ecosystem that Google fully controls. And they dissect how local guides, AI-driven local search results, and Google's declining web traffic referrals are reshaping digital marketing as we know it.Whether you're a marketer, SEO professional, journalist, or tech policy nerd—this episode gives you a grounded, provocative look at what's really going on in the AI arms race.

On the Glossy Week in Review podcast, senior fashion reporter Danny Parisi and international reporter Zofia Zwieglinska break down some of the biggest fashion news of the week. This week, in our news segment, we break down Nike's return to Amazon as it rolls back the DTC-focused strategy it launched five years ago and returns to wholesale. We also discuss a lawsuit between Steve Madden and Adidas, which points to Adidas's zealous protection of its stripe motif. And finally, we talk about Maria Grazia Chiuri stepping down as artistic director of Dior's women's collection. Later in the episode, we take a deep dive into AI-powered search. Google announced last week that it is revamping its search function, infusing every step with its Gemini AI technology. For fashion brands, the most notable announcement is a new AI-powered virtual try-on option in the Google Shopping tab of search results. The tool lets users pick nearly any item of clothing from a Google Shopping result, upload a photo of themselves, and see an AI-generated image of the clothing fit to their body. The result is a bit lackluster. We test-ran the program and found it prone to jumbled text and strange outfit choices. Additionally, it sometimes alters the item itself, making it appear different from the listing. But Google's AI try-on feature does raise an interesting question for brands about the future of search engine optimization. For years, brands have structured their strategies around keyword optimization and other tactics designed to float them to the top of traditional search bar results. But as ChatGPT becomes a go-to search engine for many consumers and Google rolls out AI Mode, in which consumers can shop through a chat interface rather than a traditional search bar and results, those strategies may change. Moves like optimizing product listings to be more readable by an AI program may help get a brand to surface better in an AI search. For now, ChatGPT does not have ads in its AI search programs, but that will likely change. Google is still testing out exactly how ads will work in AI mode. But once ads become normalized within AI search, a whole new set of best practices around search optimization will need to be defined.

On this week's episode of The MacRumors Show, we discuss all of the major announcements from Google's AI-focused I/O conference this week and the mysterious device former Apple design chief Jony Ive is designing at OpenAI. At its I/O 2025 conference, Google unveiled a wide range of artificial intelligence enhancements surrounding its Gemini AI platform. Chief among these is a dedicated AI Mode for Google Search, which leverages contextual understanding to return more relevant, nuanced results and allows follow-up questions. Within Google Chrome, Gemini has also been integrated to assist with summarizing web content, composing messages, and providing intelligent suggestions. Gemini Agent Mode is designed to be an autonomous assistant that completes tasks on your behalf, while Gemini Personal Context pulls from your Gmail, Calendar, Docs, and more to offer personalized, proactive help. Google introduced Gemini Live, which brings real-time AI assistance to iPhone users. The feature supports screen sharing, camera access, and integration with services like Google Calendar and Maps. The company also devoted time to generative models: Veo 3 for video generation, Imagen 4 for image synthesis, and Deep Research, a tool designed to provide thorough, AI-powered insights across complex subjects. Moreover, Google introduced significant developments in wearable computing with Android XR, a new operating system designed specifically for augmented reality headsets and smart glasses. The platform gains features like live translation, turn-by-turn directions, and real-time contextual support powered by Gemini. Samsung will be the first partner to release a headset running Android XR later this year, followed by a smart glasses product. Google's own smart glasses initiative was also showcased. The new glasses are equipped with in-lens displays, microphones, speakers, and cameras, allowing users to see and hear the world with real-time assistance from Gemini. The glasses will be designed in partnership with eyewear brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. In other news, OpenAI this week set out plans to acquire io, a hardware startup co-founded by legendary former Apple design chief Jony Ive, in a deal valued at approximately $6.5 billion. The acquisition brings a team of influential former Apple designers, including Evans Hankey and Marc Newson, into OpenAI. The company is working on developing a new category of device described as a “third core device," envisioned to complement the smartphone and laptop without replicating either. The new hardware is neither a phone nor a pair of glasses, but a compact, screenless device designed to sit on a desk or in a pocket. Unlike legacy interfaces, it aims to reduce dependence on screens and offer more ambient, contextual interactions with AI. According to reports, the device is aware of its surroundings through microphones and cameras, and integrates tightly with a user's life while remaining unobtrusive. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has described the product as "the coolest piece of technology the world will have ever seen." Development of the product remains highly secretive. Comparisons have been made to the Rabbit R1 and Humane AI Pin, but the involvement of Jony Ive and his team designing around OpenAI's industry-leading technology suggests that this product could be different. The device is expected to be revealed in late 2026.

The boundary between technological innovation and absurdity blurs in this fascinating exploration of AI's growing influence on our lives. We kick off with Google's latest accessibility features for Android and Chrome, where Gemini AI now helps visually impaired users understand images and captures not just what people say, but how they say it—recognizing that a simple "no" versus an emphatic "NO!" carries vastly different meanings. But the conversation takes an unexpected turn when we reveal perhaps the strangest AI story yet: a Greek woman who divorced her husband of 20 years based solely on ChatGPT's interpretation of coffee grounds. Without confronting her spouse, she filed papers after the AI claimed he was having an affair with a younger woman. This bizarre incident perfectly illustrates what our guest expert Phil Hennessey later emphasizes—AI systems can "hallucinate" convincingly false information, making critical human oversight essential.Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase demonstrates a refreshingly aggressive approach to cybersecurity after experiencing a major data breach. Rather than paying the hackers' $20 million ransom demand, they've established a bounty of the same amount for information leading to the identification of those responsible. It's an innovative counter-strategy that could change how companies respond to cyber threats.Phil Hennessey delivers a masterclass in understanding large language models, explaining that these systems don't actually memorize information like humans but create statistical word maps through neural networks. Fortnite Battle Royale this week introduced a Darth Vader character powered by Gemini AI, allowing lines to be generated in real time that would be said in the likeness of James Earl Jones. Naturally, the internet managed to put this to some horrible use within minutes, which has us questioning why a game like this needed something like this in the first place? Has Epic Games just handed SAG-AFTRA what they need in their STILL ongoing negotiations for AI protections? Is this really what gamers want in the future of games, or what people in boardrooms think we want? We debate this, and discuss much more in gaming news on another week of the longest running video game podcast, Orange Lounge Radio! Also in the News: * Bungie Accused of Plagiarizing ... Jonathan Feniak is a business attorney and the driving force behind LLCAttorney.com. After successful careers in logistics and finance, he became a licensed attorney at 45 to help make legal protection and business formation more accessible to entrepreneurs. Jonathan now helps clients across all 50 states establish LLCs, protect their assets, and structure their businesses efficiently—with a focus on practical, cost-effective solutions that deliver real protection. Make sure to download our free guide, 7 Questions Every Passive Investor Should Ask, here. Key Takeaways Asset protection begins with proper business formation—but it doesn't end there. Many business owners form LLCs but fail to “respect” them by observing corporate formalities, rendering them ineffective in court. Wyoming is one of the best states to form a holding company due to privacy and strong charging order protection. Creating a holding company structure helps simplify asset management, estate planning, and liability isolation. Revocable living trusts are a low-cost way to ensure smooth inheritance without the burden of probate, especially across multiple states. Topics From Corporate to Counsel: A Third Career Attorney Jonathan began in logistics (UPS, DHL), then transitioned to finance and wealth management. At 45, he pursued law full-time to combine strategic advising with legal structure and protection. His mission is to democratize access to real legal solutions—without the inflated price tag. What Most People Get Wrong About LLCs Forming an LLC is just step one—maintaining it properly is where most fail. Respect your LLC by: holding meetings, documenting decisions, separating finances, and keeping the business in good standing. Improperly managed LLCs are often disregarded by courts, leaving owners personally liable. The Power of Holding Companies Use a Wyoming LLC as a holding company for privacy, asset protection, and estate efficiency. Helps shield your name from public documents and reduces the impact of being linked to failed partnerships or lawsuits. Holding companies simplify asset transfers to heirs and reduce exposure to out-of-state probate. Estate Planning and Life Events Estate plans should be revisited every five years—or after any major life change (e.g., marriage, children, death, relocation). A revocable living trust paired with an LLC holding company offers clean transitions for heirs and minimal disruption. Overcomplicated estate plans often backfire; keep it simple and update as needed. Avoiding Snake Oil and Legal Overkill Many providers push unnecessary structures—like offshore trusts or layered LLCs—on inexperienced investors. Jonathan emphasizes reasonable, effective solutions tailored to the investor's current risk and net worth. Focus on clear, scalable strategies that grow with your portfolio.

Some weeks, it just feels like everything is up in the air all at the same time. Nilay and David are joined by The Verge's Jake Kastrenakes to talk about all the unrest, starting with the ever-changing tariff rules that are making gadgets hard to price, hard to find, and hard to bet on going forward. (Maybe that's why it seems everyone on Earth tried to pre-order a Switch 2 this week.) After that, the hosts catch up on the Meta and Google antitrust trials happening this week, and try to figure out who might be interested in the internet's most popular browser. Finally, in the lightning round, we talk Brendan Carr (who is a dummy), the wood-backed Motorola Razr Ultra, and the 20th anniversary of YouTube.
