We all can recall the first football game of the season. The hot August days of summer give way to the crisp, fall nights of September…The temperature changes almost as if on cue the very first day of school…Its football season! Cars pull into the high school parking lot, headlights spilling over the football field, tires crunching on frosted overspill parking, a mixture of frozen mud and lawn. Trunks pop open, coolers and blankets and hot mugs of coffee and cocoa are pulled out…A few flasks of whiskey…Kids and adults spill from the cars, pick up trucks and mini vans… The driving beat of the marching band's drums and the brass horns match the excitement of the crowd as they fill the bleachers, catching up with the friends and family members on their way to the seats. The cheerleaders jump and wave their pompoms, their breath visible, their cheeks flush and pink. The Coach and his assistants pace along the sidelines, you can feel their passion and their desire for a win, on this, their home field. The players take the field a shimmer of navy, silver and teal…The crowd stands, the rush of the excitement as audible and as real as the energy and anticipated win…. It's the first game of the season…For the Lake City Timberwolves! …In a sleepy little town along the shores of Lake CDA in the PNW a young coach pursues the noble vision of transforming the local high school football program to State contenders and State Champions, like many before him. But he is patient. He is humble. His plan is the long-vision, played out in the next few years, yard by yard, play by play, and through the hearts and minds of the young men he leads. This is the story of my special guest today, Head Coach of the Lake City Timberwolves in CDA Idaho, Brian Fulp. On a recent bone-chilling night with a temperature of 10 degrees or maybe less, Coach Fulp's story so inspired me, I decided I had to tell his story! Over two fingers of Mcallen 18 yr and Grey Goose, and oddly, but VERY welcome never-less, a cupcake from the cocktail waitress, 28 year-old, Brian told me his story… Jimmy Johnson, Head coach of the Dallas Cowboys & Miami Dolphins said: “The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra.” Coach Fulp exemplifies this philosophy every single day, demanding and leading his team to find that “little extra” that he sees in each of them. ________________________________________________________________________ On his meteoric, head-spinning rise to the position of Head Coach in 3 short years, 28 year-old Fulp has taken hold of the Timberwolves minds and bodies with a passion, determination and focus rarely seen in someone his age, let alone seasoned professional football coaches. What inspired me most about Coach Fulp was his unique, calculated, patient & realistic roadmap for his team. He knows without hesitation, reservation, PRECISELY each unapologetic step he will take to make his team State Champions again! But that's not enough. He can tell you with fire in his eyes how he plans on making the Lake City Timberwolves not only State Champs, but also an INSTITUTION and a brand for this beautiful little jeweled town, where local pride runs deep. . Where you inspired by Coach Brian Fulp's story and his vision for developing good players, good people, good citizens and instilling life-long lessons for his players? College Athlete Scholarships with Coach Mike Dunlevy (434) 251-7229 coachdunlevy@gmail.com Do you have a young athlete and think that they might be special enough that they could get their college paid for through an athletic scholarship? WEll then listen in as Coach explains how to make it happen. Parents need to listen to this so they can properly guide your young athlete on important life choices. He can help you with : When to start the process. What is one of biggest mistake athletes make that cause a coach not to watch your film Why grades matter more than ever. What is the SAT, ACT and GPA criteria that will get an athlete opened up to 85% of the schools. And the NCAA minimum standard does not mean a school will want you. What is the best criteria for building your best highlight film. Other intangible requirements. What about camps and combines? How many per year if any? Are there more or less scholarship opportunities today? Clue: 80% of all scholarships are outside of the Division I level. ***Coach is part of National Collegiate Scouting Association® (NCSA) was started in 2000 for college coaches and student-athletes who want a competitive advantage in the recruiting process. Coach Dunlevy was recently a NCAA Division III Head Football Coach who has coached over 28 years at NCAA Division I, NCAA Division III and Professionally. I have held many administrative positions and coordinated both Special Teams and Defense. I am a former NCAA Division III player and have been a 28-year member of the American Football Coaches Association. Getting recruited is really hard – it’s confusing, and takes a lot of time. With NCSA, coaches and student-athletes are provided with the people and platform to discover opportunities and connect with each other. We combine our status as an NCAA Approved recruiting network with more than 500 former college and professional athletes and coaches to deliver a highly-personalized experience that helps student-athletes get recruited and find the right college match. We help athletes in 29 sports.*** Contact Coach for more information: http://recruit-match.ncsasports.org/fasttrack/landing/general/metal.jsp?lnkSrc=PrePost_MD
