Welcome to this probing, brand-new, fact filled episode of Light ‘Em Up.We are currently being actively downloaded in 119 countries, globally. Please spread the word with a friend regarding our podcast! Remember, we are here for you and because of you!We tackle the topics that touch your lives! We hear so much talk about the topic of Qualified Immunity — but few really know what it is and what it consists of in much detail. THIS episode will put to bed ALL of those questions.Bringing a §1983 Civil Rights lawsuit against any government entity is not an easy task to accomplish.Qualified immunity is a judicially crafted legal doctrine and concept created by the U.S. Supreme Court in the case of Pierson v Ray in 1967.The doctrine was created to protect government officials, particularly law enforcement officers, from frivolous lawsuits and financial liability when they acted in good faith in legally unclear situations. We discuss the requirement (as the law states) that there must be a constitutional violation that infringed upon the rights of a person that was “clearly established” at the time it was committed. Many legal scholars argue that qualified immunity has no legal basis and is not grounded in the text or history of the relevant statutes at 42 U.S. Section 1983. Many argue that the doctrine signals a retreat from the protections afforded to Black victims of racial terror by the Civil Rights Act of 1871 (also known as the Ku Klux Klan Act).Several of our guests on Light ‘Em Up have run face first into the stone-cold, hard truths and effects of qualified immunity.— As a case study we'll examine the fact pattern in a case called Betts v Brennan whereby an officer was sued for using his taser on a non-compliant motorist.— We examine and amplify on the historic background of the concept of qualified immunity.— Drilling down on the original intent, pro's/con's and purposes of the law.— Search out how this doctrine, for lack of a better description, has become “twisted and perverted”, providing what for all intents and purposes is a never-ending “get out of jail free card” to members of law enforcement (and other governmental agents) — even when they violate the law.We share inconvenient truths how qualified immunity (as it has been regularly implemented):— erodes justice and public trust— blocks accountability— sets an unreasonably high legal barrier— serves to further injure those who have already been injured — as victims must identify a near-identical precedent, meaning they have to cite a similar case that a prior victim experienced to challenge misconduct, as we mentioned, an often “insurmountable legal hurdle”.As education is always a foundational pillar of Light ‘Em Up, we introduce you to the concept of Respondeat superior: A legal doctrine and Latin term that literally means, “let the master respond”.It holds employers liable for the actions of their employees — which is also known as vicarious liability. And we empower you with six of the Supreme Court's landmark decisions that have further defined and carved out this judicial doctrine since its inception by the Warren Court. This episode is jam-packed with rock-solid research and information regarding the legal concept of qualified immunity. After today, after tuning in, you will speak with authority about the topic — forever setting you head and shoulders above and apart from everyone else — who speak without knowing.Tune in and be educated and empowered you with the facts, not fiction!Follow our sponsors: Newsly & Feedspot. We want to hear from you!

100th Episode Special! If you're a regular listener of the Pennsylvania Oddities podcast, you've noticed that Western Pennsylvania has no shortage of mass murderers. There was Martha Grinder, the kind-hearted housewife who was hanged in 1865 for nursing her patients to an early grave. There was Charles Cawley, the teenage genius from Homestead who went berserk in 1902 and slaughtered his family with an axe... a tragedy replicated in 1939 by 17-year-old Beaver Falls High School student Paul Cook. But one of the most deranged killers in the history of Western Pennsylvania was neither a nurse nor an angry teenager, but a foppish 73-year-old policeman with a fondness for wearing wigs and makeup. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/paoddities/support

It's Wednesday, September 18th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Indonesian officials release Christian apologist from jail Praise God! Indonesian officials released a Christian apologist from prison earlier this year. International Christian Concern confirmed the release last week. Authorities arrested Gratia Pello back in 2022 for allegedly insulting Islam. Pello taught at a Christian school in East Java and published many videos defending Christianity. A local Christian leader previously told Morning Star News, “The police always put the arrest of Christians on their priority list, but they are silent when it comes to the many . . . [Muslim teachers] who insult Christian holy books even if the case has been reported.” Psalm 146:5 and 7 says, “Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God, … Who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. The LORD gives freedom to the prisoners.” Country of Georgia reaffirms ban on homosexual faux marriage Lawmakers in the Eastern European country of Georgia approved legislation to protect family values yesterday. The law would allow authorities to limit the promotion of sexually perverted lifestyles in public like homosexual Pride events and their rainbow flag. The measure also reaffirms Georgia's ban on faux homosexual marriage and transgender surgeries. Leaders with the governing Georgian Dream Party say they want to protect “traditional moral standards.” Ford, Harley-Davidson and Lowe's end perverted alliance In the U.S., big companies are dropping support for diversity initiatives. The Human Rights Campaign, a radical pro-homosexual group, releases the Corporate Equality Index every year to determine how supportive companies are of sexually perverted lifestyles. But companies have faced pressure from customers and conservative groups for participating in the perverted index. Ford, Harley-Davidson, and Lowe's are among the latest companies to drop out of the index. Dan Lennington with the Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty has supported challenges to diversity initiatives. He said, “We have no problem with nondiscrimination, but we're worried about these policies going too far and harming innocent third parties who have either religious objections or they're being excluded because they're not LGBTQ or a certain race.” Donations by Evangelicals are down Infinity Concepts and Grey Matter Research released a new report on Evangelical giving. The study found 61% of Evangelical adults donated to a local church last year. That's down from 74% in 2021. Over the same time period, giving to a nonprofit or a ministry outside of a church fell from 58% to 50%. And the proportion of Evangelicals who did not donate at all rose from 19% to 31%. Between church and charity, the average Evangelical donor gives just 3.3% of their household income, down from 4% in 2021. In Malachi 3:10, God said, “'Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,' says the LORD of hosts, ‘If I will not open for you the windows of Heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.'” 24% of Protestant pastors support Kamala Harris Lifeway Research released a new study on the upcoming presidential election. The report found 97% of U.S. Protestant pastors plan to vote in the election. But nearly a quarter of them did not share who they plan to vote for, up from 4% in 2020. Of the pastors who plan to vote and were willing to share their preference, 50% support former President Donald Trump. Twenty-four percent support Vice President Kamala Harris, and 23% are undecided. Pastors voting for Trump are among the most likely to say an important issue in their voting decision is the ability to protect religious freedom, the position on abortion, and the size and role of government. Oregon city compensates church $400,000 over homeless ministry And finally, an Oregon city agreed to pay a $400,000 settlement to a church over its homeless ministry. The City of Brookings had passed an ordinance in 2021 that restricted the homeless ministry of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church. In 2022, the church filed a lawsuit saying the ordinance violated their religious liberty. As part of the recent settlement, the city agreed to repeal the ordinance. Father Bernie Lindley of St. Timothy's said, “We had to stand up for our religious freedoms. … We're really glad that the whole thing's over with and we can get back to … getting to the needs of the marginalized in our community without the distraction of this lawsuit.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, September 18th, in the year of our Lord 2024. It's Wednesday, August 28th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Muslims murdered Ugandan evangelist for his faith Morning Star News reports that Muslim extremists killed a Christian in eastern Uganda last Monday. Yowabu Sebakaki died for his faith after leading Muslims to Christ. He received threatening messages like this one. The hostile person wrote, “We are aware of some secret meetings you are undertaking. You have to stop preaching as well as converting our faithful Muslims to Christianity, and if not, then soon we are coming for your life.” However, the 52-year-old evangelist continued his ministry. Assailants ambushed him as he returned to his village after a discipleship class. Revelation 12:11 says, “They overcame [the Devil] by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” Please pray that the guilty Ugandan Muslims would both be brought to justice and repent of their sins and profess Jesus Christ as their Savior. New study on migrants worldwide A new study from Pew Research found over 280 million people, or 3.6% of the global population, are international migrants. Of migrants living outside their country of birth, 47% are Christian, 29% are Muslim, 13% are religiously unaffiliated, 5% are Hindu, and 4% are Buddhist. Christian migrants tend to come from countries with a Christian presence but weaker economies than their neighbors like Mexico, Russia, the Philippines, and Ukraine. Most Christian migrants overwhelmingly end up coming to the U.S. followed by Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom, and Canada. Overall, Christian migrants grew from 73 million in 1990 to 131 million in 2020, an 80% increase. Tulsi Gabbard endorsed Trump Former Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard endorsed Donald Trump on Monday night at the National Guard Association Conference in Detroit, Michigan. Listen. GABBARD: “I know that President Trump understands the grave responsibility that a President and Commander-in-Chief bears for every single one of our lives. Whether you're a soldier, you're an airman, a Marine, sailor, or a Coastie, he keeps us in his heart, in the decisions that he makes. “We saw this through his first term in the presidency, when he not only didn't start any new wars, he took action to de-escalate and prevent wars. He exercised the courage that we expect from our Commander-in-Chief in exhausting all measures of diplomacy, having the courage to meet with adversaries, dictators, allies and partners alike in the pursuit of peace, seeing war as a last resort. “The truth is, as we head towards our decision as a country in November, the same cannot be said about Kamala Harris. In fact, the opposite is true, and we are living through this reality today, as this administration has us facing multiple wars on multiple fronts and regions around the world and closer to the brink of nuclear war than we ever have been before. “This is one of the main reasons why I'm committed to doing all that I can to send President Trump back to the White House, where he can once again serve us as our Commander in Chief.” (cheers and applause) IHOP fired Christian server for asking to take Sundays off In the U.S., an International House of Pancakes franchise reached a $40,000 settlement recently with an employee over religious discrimination. The employee started working for the franchise of the national breakfast restaurant chain back in 2021. He asked for Sundays off so he could go to church. Eventually, IHOP fired him. After the settlement, trial attorney Taitionna Miles said, “Religious discrimination is intolerable. Employers must respect all sincerely held religious beliefs, which includes providing reasonable accommodations when no undue hardship exists.” Mark Zuckerberg confesses: Facebook should not have censored Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg sent a letter on Monday to U.S. Congressman Jim Jordan, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. The tech billionaire acknowledged that the Biden administration repeatedly pressured Facebook to remove certain COVID-19 content. He wrote, “I believe the government pressure was wrong, and I regret that we were not more outspoken about it.” Zuckerberg also said Facebook should not have censored the Hunter Biden laptop story leading up to the 2020 presidential election. Real wages are falling Pew Stateline analysis of data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics found real wages are falling for most workers in recent years. Wages have risen about 10% in the U.S. since 2021. However, consumer prices have surged by over 17%. High cost states like New York and California saw hundreds of thousands of people leaving for lower cost states. Meanwhile, some states saw wages outpacing inflation including Montana, New Hampshire, Florida, Washington, and Maine. Lowe's ends participation in sexually perverted parades Lowe's is the latest U.S. company to scale back its diversity, equity, and inclusion programs. Reuters reports that the home improvement retailer will no longer participate in surveys for Human Rights Campaign, a group advocating for sexually perverted lifestyles. Lowe's used to support regional stores' participating in sexually perverted pride parades. Now, the company is reportedly changing its policy to no longer sponsor such parades or festivals. You can thank Lowe's for saying no to sexually perverted parades by writing a two-sentence thank you note to Marvin Ellison, CEO, Lowe's, 1000 Lowe's Boulevard, Mooresville, NC 28117. Singing improves health for elderly citizens with coronary artery disease And finally, researchers at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee released a study on how singing affects the health of elderly people. For the study, 65-year-old and older patients with a history of coronary artery disease sang along with a video for 30 minutes. The patients saw an improvement in microvascular endothelial function. The study noted, “Singing should be considered as an accessible and safe therapeutic intervention in an older population who otherwise may have physical or orthopedic limitations hindering participation in traditional exercise.” For the study, patients sang along to several different songs, including Amazing Grace. Patients who sang the classic hymn saw the greatest effect. Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, August 28th, in the year of our Lord 2024. Have you heard the term pervert before? I have and usually associated the word with it being used in a sexual way: someone was a pervert if they were inappropriate towards the right way. These days it has been hard to define the "right way" because what we have defined with the right way, has been corrupted. Example...a boy is a boy if he has a penis and a girl is a girl is she has a vagina but the times have changed and you can decided that that physical reality is NOT a reality for you. How confusing. In this episode, I talk about what a perverted way is and what are the consequences if a person strays from the right way. What is the right way? If it's right...how do you keep it right? Who and what do we have to be grounded in reality? Let's talk about all this and more. I hope you guys get some value out of this episode today. In this engaging episode of Palisades Gold Radio, your host Tom Bodrovics welcomes Dave Bradley, a pioneering figure in the Bitcoin world. Known as Canada's strongest and best-looking Bitcoin entrepreneur, Dave is the founder of the first Bitcoin store, co-founder of Bull Bitcoin, and a board member of Bitcoin Well. They explore the intersection of gold and Bitcoin against the backdrop of growing awareness regarding monetary debasement and the rise of freedom movement communities. Dave emphasizes the importance of distinguishing between money and investments, considering gold as a store of value rather than money. Many investments have taken on characteristics of money due to debasement and muddling risk-adjusted returns. He shares concerns over increased risk tolerance among individuals due to rampant central bank money printing. The conversation delves into the emergence of alternative cryptocurrencies, which Dave views as companies competing with a protocol rather than contenders to Bitcoin's decentralized form of money. Despite over 10,000 altcoins, most have failed to capture significant value or market cap. Dave shares his personal journey of discovering Bitcoin in 2010 and the missed opportunities that came with it, including regretful sales in the early days. The discussion covers Bitcoin's potential as a form of money, surpassing gold in terms of divisibility, ease of verification, and digital nature that makes it more practical for transactions. Dave notes that Bitcoin has a role to play during times of censorship. In the future role Bitcoins role will likely to continue to strengthen as traditional monetary policies falter. Dave concludes by inviting listeners to attend the Bitcoin Rodeo conference for valuable insights on real-world applications of Bitcoin. It's Wednesday, May 8th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Religious Freedom Commission warns State Dept about 17 countries The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom released its annual report last Wednesday. The commission makes recommendations to the U.S. State Department about which nations should be designated as Countries of Particular Concern. Such countries are considered the worst violators of religious freedom. The latest report recommends 17 countries for the designation, including China, India, Iran, North Korea, Russia, and Myanmar (formerly known as Burma). The Religious Freedom Commission lamented that the State Department has still not designated India as a Country of Particular Concern. Christians faced at least 687 incidents of violence last year in India. Matthew 5:10 says, “Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.” Thousands of Columbians march for life Over the weekend, thousands of people joined the 18th National March for Life across over 100 cities and towns in Colombia. In 2022, the Constitutional Court of the South American country ruled in favor of killing unborn babies up to 24 weeks of pregnancy. This follows a trend of South and Central American countries caving to international pressure by decriminalizing abortion. Jesús Magaña with United for Life attended the recent march. He said, “We are unwilling to remain silent and stand by in the face of the largest massacre in the country.” 15 GOP-led states oppose Biden's sexually perverted agenda In the U.S., more and more states are opposing the Biden administration's support for sexually perverted lifestyles. New regulations from the Education Department protect students on the basis of their so-called gender identity and sexual orientation. At least 15 Republican-led states challenged the regulations in court. And at least seven say they will not follow the new rules. Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders wrote in an executive order, “The Biden administration's facially absurd redefinition of sex in Title IX turns back the clock on women's opportunities, erodes student privacy, threatens women's sports, and erases women.” Isaiah 5:20 says, “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness.” Southern Baptist membership dropped by 241,000 The Southern Baptist Convention released its Annual Church Profile this month. Membership in the largest U.S. Protestant denomination fell by 241,000 people last year. Membership is now below 13 million for the first time since the 1970s. It's also the 17th year of decline in a row. However, weekly service attendance increased to 4 million last year. And baptisms were up 26%. California witnessed a 248% increase in baptisms over the previous year. Boy Scouts changes name to “Scouting America” The Boy Scouts of America is changing its name for the first time since its founding in 1914. The organization is rebranding to Scouting America after facing bankruptcy and abuse scandals. The Boy Scouts allowed girls to join in 2019. This followed allowing homosexual youth and scout leaders. The organization has dropped to just over one million members, down from over two million in 2018. 2,000 anti-Israel college students arrested Police have arrested over 2,000 protesters in recent weeks at universities across America. Demonstrators are supporting Palestinians and opposing Israel's response to the October 7th attack by Hamas, the Muslim terrorist group. Protestors formed tent encampments at colleges and even took over parts of school buildings. One of the schools was Columbia University in New York City. Thirteen federal judges accused the school of becoming an incubator of bigotry, antisemitism, and violence. The conservative judges said they would not be hiring law school students from Columbia University. Federal Reserve won't cut interest rates The Federal Reserve decided against cutting interest rates last week. The central bank left its short-term borrowing rate at 5.25%-5.5% which is the same rate it has been since July 2023. The Fed noted, “The Committee does not expect it will be appropriate to reduce the target range until it has gained greater confidence that inflation is moving sustainably toward 2 percent.” Boy survives getting sucked 25 feet into sky by tornado And finally, a Texas family is giving thanks for an absolute miracle. A tornado struck their home recently, reports KWTX-TV. Wes and Kasey Lambert, along with their daughter, Allie, and son, Lane, took cover in a closet. During the commotion, Lane got sucked up 25 feet in the air by the tornado. KASEY: “I remember hearing glass break. And then I remember hearing bricks coming down, and they were coming down on top of us. At that point, the suction became so strong it sucked Lane from Wes' arms.” The 7-year-old boy told the TV station what the tornado did to him. LANE: “It picked me up about 25 feet!" In God's providence, the family found him on top of some insulation in another part of the house after the tornado passed. Lane suffered a dislocated shoulder and had severe injuries to his face and eyes which caused heavy bleeding. They believe a brick might have hit him during his airborne experience. While Wes and Kasey suffered other minor injuries and the house is considered a total loss, they are thankful to God to be alive. US Representative Ritchie Torres could easily be a multiple card carrying member of the intersectional Left: a gay Afro-Latino son on a Puerto Rican father, he grew up in public housing in the Bronx, the very Borough he now represents in Congress.Yet Representative Torres is one of the most poignant critics of this corrosive movement that has taken over larges swathes of the Democratic Party, and consistently and proudly takes its proponents to task for their hypocrisy and antisemitism.Torres has an impressive track record of fighting corruption and the economic exploitation or workers. He is a vocal and unequivocal supporter of American Jewry and of Israel.Stay up to date at:www.stateofanationpodcast.comX: https://twitter.com/stateofapodInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/stateofapodFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61556030695001 LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/company/state-of-a-nationSupport Representative Torres at https://torres.nyc

It's Tuesday, March 19th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Algerian pastor sent to prison for holding “unauthorized religious meetings” Please pray for Pastor Youssef Ourahmane, Vice President of the Protestant Church of Algeria. He has been sentenced to a year in prison for holding “unauthorized religious meetings.” His appeal will be heard in court on March 26. Algeria, Africa is ranked the 15th most dangerous country worldwide for Christians. Argentinian President Javier Milei blocked by liberal Senate Argentinian President Javier Milei has met more resistance from the nation's Senate. Milei's 300 proposed deregulation reforms packed into the mega-decree bill went down in flames last week by a Senate vote of 42-25. Plus, another set of reforms, referred to as the Omnibus Bill, failed last month to make it through the nation's Senate as well. Senate Leader Schumer vs. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu Last week, Chuck Schumer, the Democratic Senate Majority Leader and the highest-ranking Jewish official in America, called for Israel to hold new elections for a new Israeli government, registering his concerns for the “civilian toll” in the ongoing war on the Gaza Strip, reports The Guardian. SCHUMER: “The [Benjamin] Netanyahu Coalition no longer fits the needs of Israel after October 7th. Nobody expects Prime Minister Netanyahu to do the things that must be done to break the cycle of violence, to preserve Israel's credibility on the world stage, and to work towards a two-state solution. “He won't disavow ministers [Finance Minister Bezalel] Smotrich and [National Security Minister Itamar] Ben-Gvir in their calls for Israelis to drive Palestinians out of Gaza and the West Bank. He won't commit to a military operation in Rafah that prioritizes protecting civilian life. He won't engage responsibly in discussions about a day after plan for Gaza and a longer term pathway to peace.” Appearing on Fox News, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu ridiculed the idea of a two-state solution. NETANYAHU: “Hamas had a de facto Palestinian state in Gaza. And what did they use it for? To massacre Israelis in the worst savagery that was meted on Jews since the Holocaust. “We just had a vote in the Knesset the other day, 99 against 9. Our Parliament members voted against the attempt to impose on Israel a Palestinian state. The vast majority of the Israeli public understands that a Palestinian state, the way that it's being envisioned, would be an enormous danger to Israel's future.” Netanyahu scoffed at Schumer's assertion that Israel needs to agree now to a minimal military operation against Rafah, a city in the Gaza strip where Hamas' remaining battalions remain. In addition, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu responded in an interview with CNN over the weekend, calling Schumer's comments “totally inappropriate.” He reiterated Israel's commitment to “bringing down the Hamas tyranny.” Gen Zers more perverted than Gen X or Baby Boomers Almost one-third of Gen Z women, between the ages of 18 and 26, identify with some form of sexual perversion, according to a recent Gallup survey. Ten percent of men call themselves “LGBTQ” as compared with 28% of women. That's up from just 2 to 3% among the Baby Boom Generation, and 4 to 5% among the Gen X Generation. According to Gallup, “Overall, each younger generation is about twice as likely as the generation that preceded it to identify as LGBTQ+.” The total number of Americans that identify with sexual perversions stands at 7.6%, up from 3.5% in 2012. New Mexico, Oregon, and Nevada have the most homosexuals The Public Religion Research Institute reports that the state with the highest population of people professing to be homosexual live in New Mexico, followed by Oregon and Nevada. Republicans disenfranchised with homosexual agenda The recent PRRI survey has found that Republicans are becoming increasingly disenfranchised with the homosexual agenda. The proportion of Republicans that would bring punitive measures on Christian-owned businesses that refuse service for homosexuals on religious grounds has dropped from 41% to 34% since 2021. Overall, 60% of Americans are still in favor of punitive measures on Christian businesses holding to their values. Matthew 11:20-22 says that “[Jesus] began to rebuke the cities in which most of His mighty works had been done, because they did not repent: 'Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you.' ” Homosexual activists win in Florida Homosexual activists are claiming a “major victory” in Florida over a settlement involving the Parental Rights in Education Act signed by Governor Ron DeSantis in 2022. The law prohibited classroom instruction on homosexuality and transgenderism to children 5 through 8 years of age (or kindergarten through third grade). The settlement filed in the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals now will allow it in literature, in classroom discussion, and in teachers identifying same-sex or transgender spouses or partners. The settlement also will allow so-called “Gay-Straight Alliances” for 5 through 8-year-old children, homosexuality in the library books, and third-party lecturers to take up the subject. Surprisingly, 41% of Florida schools have Gay-Straight Alliance clubs. That makes Florida the tenth most pro-homosexual state in the U.S. by this metric. Commercial real estate in hot water Commercial real estate is in big trouble this year. About $1 trillion in mortgage bonds are maturing this year, representing about 20% of the entire market. This comes at a time when the market for commercial real estate tumbled 50% in a single year. As of January 2024, the 30-day delinquency rate has increased 300%, year over year, according to BusinessInsider.com. Scientists discover a star 500 trillion times brighter than our sun And finally, scientists have discovered a quasar which is the brightest luminary in the universe as far as we know, reports European Southern Observatory. Quasar J0529-4351 is said to be 500 trillion times brighter than our sun. That's the brightness of 5,000 galaxies in one quasar, which is 12 billion light years away from our earth. Quasars form at the center of a galaxy, powered by a massive black hole in space.
