Revelation 5: 1-6 (CSB)We're thrilled to continue our 'Year of Worship' series! Building on last year's success, Pastor Jono Tudhope will again guide us, exploring the vital question: 'What does God-glorifying corporate worship entail?' He'll delve into three key themes: Christ-centered worship, Holy Spirit-led worship, and worship as a response to our loving Father
Romans 12: 1-2 (CSB)We're excited to continue our 'Year of Worship' series! Last year's series was a success, and we believe God wants us to explore it further. Pastor Jono Tudhope will lead us, asking the important question: 'Why do we Worship?' He'll focus on three key areas: the purpose of worship, making worship a priority in our lives, and experiencing God's presence during worship.
Confession & Comfort | Pastor Tyler Sollie | Life Center Tacoma Forgiveness is the FOUNDATION of FELLOWSHIP. -Psalm 51:1-4; 6-7; 10-12; 14-17 (CSB) We pray like SIN is SERIOUS. "So every sin is cosmic treason - it is overthrowing the rule of the one to whom you owe everything." - Tim Keller We pray like GOD is GRACIOUS. -Psalm 103:8-10 (CSB) -Colossians 2:14 (CSB) We pray like CONFESSION renews CONNECTION. -1 John 1:9 (CSB) We pray with CONFIDENCE in His COMFORT. -Psalm 23 (CSB)
I know that I'm talking to people who don't need to be convinced of God's existence. I also know that we all have people in our lives who aren't so sure. It is estimated that 3 out of 4 young people raised in the church leave it while in college, in part because of the intellectual challenges they find there. No one explained to them the facts that actually support our believe. When they encounter atheist professors, they have no defense. In too many cases, adults have never really thought through their belief either, so how could they share with their children? Scientists with lots of knowledge and ego to match look down their noses and call us foolish for believing in a creator, but if we look at the evidence, it takes more faith to believe there isn't one. Paul says in his letter to the Romans, “From the creation of the world His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what He has made. As a result, people are without excuse.” (1:20 CSB) We'll cover at a high level some of the reasons why belief in God is completely logical, and I'll share some resources with you that you can study for yourself and share with others. I know how much it helped me when I began to discover that one doesn't have to check in the brain at the door of the church. Following Jesus requires faith. There are some things we cannot know and yet we must trust Him. But there is much that we can and should know so that we can effectively stand against the enemy's deceit and help others to stand as well.

HEBREWS 4:12-13 (CSB)We are devoted to God's Word because of what it is - it's GOD'S WORD, - and because of what it does: it pierces, and divides, and discerns, and exposes, But we especially love it because, GOD'S WORD, shows us the Father!
The Convict and The King. Today, Pastor Michael is talking about Easter. Resurrection Sunday. And he feels in his heart that the Lord is leading him to ‘tell a story'. So, this is the story of the convict and the king. A pair of bright eyes set in a face that was probably handsome many years ago but today, he's showing that he's had a hard life. He's trying to remain calm but he sees the iron spike about to be driven into his wrist, on the cross and knows the pain is about to start. His name is not truly known but he is known in history as the penitent thief. He was on a cross, as was another thief, the impenitent thief, to the left and right of Jesus on Golgotha. Yet with what little life he had left, the penitent thief exclaimed to the crowd, Luke 23:41-43 (CSB) We are punished justly, because we're getting back what we deserve for the things we did, but this man has done nothing wrong.” 42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” 43 And he said to him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” Jesus gave His life; He was not executed. He gave His life for all of us. After finishing His mission, Jesus committed himself into His Father's hands and breathed His last. No one took His life from Him. He gave it freely. (CSB Study Bible Notes) 23:40-43 In the midst of this display of unbelief and mockery, the other criminal came to understand the difference between his own guilt and Jesus's innocence (this man has done nothing wrong). He also realized that Jesus was the Messiah and asked to take part in his coming kingdom. Jesus assured him that, after death, he would immediately be reunited with him in paradise (eternal life beyond the grave; see 2Co 12:4). Verses can be found in Luke 23: 32-43. Hebrews 2:5-18 (CSB)We are now presented with the humanity of Jesus, but nothing being taken away from His deity. Jesus is both fully God and fully human - two things necessary for the salvation of the world.

Sermon Manuscript: Ephesians 4:1-16 Series: Text Messages Title: Growing Together Date: 9/18/22 Location: Perris Valley Church Ephesians 4:1-2 (NLT) Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. 2 Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other's faults because of your love. Luke 14:8-11 (NLT) “When you are invited to a wedding feast, don't sit in the seat of honor. What if someone who is more distinguished than you has also been invited? 9 The host will come and say, ‘Give this person your seat.' Then you will be embarrassed, and you will have to take whatever seat is left at the foot of the table! 10 “Instead, take the lowest place at the foot of the table. Then when your host sees you, he will come and say, ‘Friend, we have a better place for you!' Then you will be honored in front of all the other guests. 11 For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” 1 Thessalonians 2:7 (NLT) As apostles of Christ we certainly had a right to make some demands of you, but instead we were like children among you. Or we were like a mother feeding and caring for her own children. Ephesians 4:3-6 (NLT) Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. 4 For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. 5 There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all, in all, and living through all. Point Number One: The Lord's Church is designed to be united as one, not divided into many. Psalm 133:1 (NLT) How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony! Ephesians 4:7 (NLT) However, he has given each one of us a special gift through the generosity of Christ. 1 Peter 4:10 (NLT) God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. Romans 11:29 (NLT) For God's gifts and his call can never be withdrawn. Ephesians 4:11 (NLT) Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Ephesians 4:12 (ESV) to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, Ephesians 4:12 (NLT) Their responsibility is to equip God's people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. Point Number Two: Your Pastor's Job Description is to Give You the Tools To Do Ministry. 2 Timothy 4:2 (NLT) Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (CSB) All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. Ephesians 4:13-14a (NLT) This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God's Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. 14 Then we will no longer be immature like children. Point Number Three: A united healthy Church body is continually growing deeper in their Christian walk together. Hebrews 5:11-14 (CSB) We have a great deal to say about this, and it is difficult to explain, since you have become too lazy to understand. 12 Although by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the basic principles of God's revelation again. You need milk, not solid food. 13 Now everyone who lives on milk is inexperienced with the message about righteousness, because he is an infant. 14 But solid food is for the mature—for those whose senses have been trained to distinguish between good and evil. Ephesians 4:15-16 (NLT) Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. 16 He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. Point Number Four: A body will not function properly if the parts are not growing in unison and in unity. 1 Corinthians 12:12 (NLT) The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ.
Judges 17:6 (NLT) What we see as right and what God sees as right isn't always aligned. Judges 3:7 (CSB) Isaiah 55:8-9 (CSB) Judges 2:8-10 (CSB) We all SHARE something. What will it be? Judges 3:7, 17:6 (CSB) We all SEE something. Is our seeing right? Judges 3:8 (CSB) We all SERVE something. What is it? Judges 3:9 (CSB) We all can SURRENDER. But will we? God has been faithful to provide DELIVERANCE even when we are the source of DIFFICULTY.

Having a Godly Aesthetic Aesthetic Definition: concerned with beauty or the appreciation of beauty. There is a lot of focus on having the right aesthetic, the right look, the right style of the Instagram page all for the sake of aesthetics. What does a holy aesthetic look like to God's scriptures? Lets see what I have to say about aesthetics We should want the king to desire us and not everyone else. “and the king will desire your beauty. Bow down to him, for he is your Lord.” Psalms 45:11 CSB We should fear the Lord, that's where we will receive praise. “Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord will be praised.” Proverbs 31:30 CSB Aesthetics are based on perception We are concerned with the right outfit and the right feed planner and not of that matters to Jesus. God looks at the heart. The world only sees what you put on and what you post, Jesus sees what only is available to him: The heart! We must not be conformed. While I love fashion and wear what I think looks cute on me. I think there is a line that needs to be drawn if you start to look so much like the world that nothing is different, nothing is standing out, nothing is set apart and nobody can see the light of Jesus in you. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2 What is Holy Aesthetic? Focus on The Heart Don't let your beauty consist of outward things like elaborate hairstyles and wearing gold jewelry or fine clothes, 4 but rather what is inside the heart[a]—the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight. 1 Peter 3:3-4 But the LORD said to Samuel, “Don't judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The LORD doesn't see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” 1 sam 16:7 Focus on Holiness For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:16 Holiness is being set apart Set apart by (or for) God, holy, sacred The Digest If we look the same... how will anyone be able to decipher change in us? How do you want others to perceive you? Is my outfit the latest? What's my IG aesthetic? Or by the way, you rep the King? Are you drawing people to his light and his glory vs having the right aesthetic from the world's view? Myth #9: A God who loves people wouldn't let bad things happen Welcome to Season 2! This season is all about busting up myths about the church. This week we're busting the myth that if God really loved us, He wouldn't let bad things happen to good people. The truth is that bad things happen because God gave us free will. He didn't make us rule following robots, giving us free will to choose whether or not to love and follow Him. The hope we hold onto as Christians is that God has a bigger plan for us because He loves us, no matter what good or bad may come. ____________________________________________________________________________ Scripture References Season Memory Verse - Romans 10:9 (CSB) If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Genesis 1-2 - Creation Story, Garden of Eden Genesis 2:16-17 (CSB) And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree of the garden, but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for on the day you eat from it, you will certainly die.” Genesis 3 - The Fall, The Serpent tricks Adam and Eve Ephesians 5:25 (CSB) Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself for her John 10:10 (CSB) A thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance. Matthew 4:1-11 - Jesus Tempted by Satan 1 Corinthians 10:13 (CSB) No temptation has come upon you except what is common to humanity. But God is faithful; he will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to bear it. John 16:33 (CSB) I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! Today we present an encore episode originally from Season 2, titled "Guard Your Heart." This meditation reminds us that our hearts are a lifeline for spiritual and physical well-being. “Guard your heart above all else, for it is the source of life." - Proverbs 4:23 CSB We have the responsibility of guarding the GATEWAY to our hearts. So we must ask ourselves… “Am I willingly letting anything unhealthy into my heart, affecting my body, soul, mind and spirit?” The battle to guard our heart is real and ongoing. Moment by moment we have to choose what we will think on and where we will focus our gaze. As we meditate on God's Word, we are able to SEE His life-giving ways more clearly.
