In this episode, Wellington and Savon are joined by once again special guest, Maurice Hendricks, a multimedia content creator, focusing on making music, film production and video game design. They review Benny The Butcher's latest Burden of Proof and discuss this being one of the masterpiece albums of the year and it being a complete, thorough project along with carefully calculated features with Hit-Boy's magnificent production. They also review Drake's last studio album Scorpion and thoughts on this being such an expansive project and some of the ambitious elements that may have been too much and also early thoughts on his promo video for Drake's 6th album Certified Lover Boy dropping the beginning of next year and how some of his best, past sounds could culminate in an anticipated classic. Finally, they review J. Cole's 2014 Forest Hills Drive and how this was his most compelling and still consistent studio album with immaculate storytelling. In the second half, they review Joker, a 2019 psychological thriller film, directed and produced by Todd Phillips. Starring Joaquin Phoenix, Robert De Niro, Zazzie Beats and Frances Conroy. They dive into how Joaquin Phoenix's performance was one of the high marks of his career, the divided reception of how this film was trying to be too similar to Martin Scoreses's Taxi Driver in some ways and possible holes in the origin story. They also discuss the intentional direction and narrative cues, the Joker's calculated questions and how you can't compare his performance to Heath Ledger's as they were in completely; different gears.

This episode is, more than anything, me testing my ability to record with no fans or AC in the middle of an NYC heatwave #saunastatus. I review Drake's new album 'Scorpion' and use the album as a starting point to dig into the age old debate of "Generalists" vs. "Specialists" in various fields of industry. I argue how Drake is the ultimate "generalist" and provide some thoughts on figuring out which path may be more ideal for someone based upon their character traits. I also explain how slow of a week it has been in tech news and give my veryyyyy casual rundown of Paris Fashion Week Men's Spring 19. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/not-rocket-science/support

Ohhh boy, we're here for all the smoke!!! The long simmering 'beef' between Pusha T has full on erupted with Drake responding to "Infared" with the appropriately hard "Duppy Freestyle" then Pusha T escalated things to a whole other level with one of the most disrespectful disses we've heard in years with "The Story of Adidon." We talk about who we think has the upper hand, what's Drake's next move, and did Pusha go too far? Then we give our reactions to Pusha T's Daytona album as a whole, discuss A$AP Rocky's horrible, horrible timing with Testing, and give a perfect score to Arctic Monkey's Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino. Check the full episode out above and tell us your thoughts, comments, and questions about the topics in the episode. 00:00:37 - From "Infared" to "Duppy Freestyle" to "The Story of Adidon", the Pusha T vs Drake 'beef' has escalated to a new disrespectful level 00:28:00 - Should we be worried about Drake's Scorpion? 00:30:55 - Is "Daytona" as good as Pusha T has ever been? 00:42:02 - What was A$AP Rocky thinking dropping during this firestorm? 00:52:09 - The new wave has been holding down the trap scene this year 00:56:48 - Arctic Monkeys' "Tranquility Base Casino & Hotel" is a MUST listen 00:59:01 - New and upcoming music releases Topic Suggestions, Questions, or Comments: livinglifefearless.co/podcasts podcasts@livinglifefearless.co Relevant Links: livinglifefearless.co Intro Song: www.thepassionhifi.com
