Part 4 in the Mr. Steak series, and Part 3 of the Mr. Steak's Competitive Edge series. This one is from June 1976 and is on the topic of "Nobody Loves and Absentee." On the topic of Absenteeism, which apparently was a chronic condition for the managers and staff to work through at the time. Mr. Steak's Founder, Chairman of the Board and CEO James A. Jim Mather, my Grandpa Mather, interviews people in an effort to increase what he called Mr. Steak's Competitive Edge by encouraging people to smile in order to help beautify America. This was in December 1976 for the benefit of Mr. Steak's nationwide staff in 285 restaurants. Grandpa interjects his thoughts along with Scripture. This seems to have been a monthly series called "Mr. Steak's Competitive Edge," each month with a new theme. Many thank to Kerri Marquadt, owner of 7 of the 286 Mr. Steak franchises including the Cheyenne Wyoming location, for the gift to me of these rare tapes of the Mr. Steak franchisor founder and motivational speaker, James A. Mather. Grandpa Mather was raised by a single mother in the Great Depression in El Dorado, Kansas. He went on to serve as a Navy F2F Hellcat fighter pilot during World War 2. He started the company in 1962. He and his first wife Dottie raised 3 kids in Colorado. He died last year in the presence of his second wife Linda peacefully in Camarillo, California at the ripe age of 102 years young. Funeral services were held at Godspeak Calvary Chapel in Newbury Park and performed by Pastor Rob McCoy, whom Jim mentored in the Lord. After being betrayed by his brothers and falsely accused in Egypt, Joseph now faces a new trial: being forgotten by the very man he helped. While in prison, Joseph serves faithfully and interprets dreams for two of Pharaoh's officials. One is restored, just as Joseph said. But the other is executed; and the one who survives forgets Joseph completely. Stephen explores what it means to be mistreated, especially by people you trust (family, friends, or even fellow believers.) He reveals how bitterness, self-pity, and revenge are common temptations in these moments; but not the only path. Joseph chooses to trust God's presence, even when there's no visible reward. You'll also learn practical wisdom for navigating mistreatment and disappointment. Anand Menon is Professor of European Politics and Foreign Affairs at King's College London in the United Kingdom, and was appointed in January 2014 as director of the UK in a Changing Europe initiative. Prior to arriving at King's College, London, Menon lectured at Birmingham University. Previously he was Lecturer in European Politics at Oxford University for ten years and a Fellow of St Antony's College, Oxford for five. Bibliography His publications include European Politics (Oxford University Press, 2007), co-edited with Colin Hay and Europe: The State of the Union (Atlantic Books, 2008), and he has written for popular publications including the Financial Times, the London Review of Books and Prospect.[2][4]Anand was a Professor of West European Politics, and founding Director of the European Research Institute at the University of Birmingham. Counties depend on property tax revenue to fund public health, schools, public safety, roadway maintenance, and other essential public services upon which all county residents depend.Yet, people hate the property tax more than other taxes. Why? Maybe it's because the property tax is the only tax left on the books for which people must write a big check. Income taxes and Social Security contributions are withheld from paychecks before the recipients get their hands on the money. Merchants and other businesses remit sales taxes. The property tax is the only tax that a regular person gets a bill and has to pay it.Is the property tax a tax on consumption (your house's cost)? If so, the tax is regressive, because housing costs take a bigger bite out of low-income household budgets. Or is the property tax a tax on capital (your return to owning a house)?
