After years of struggles with staffing and resources, the program got a major boost this year: Mayor Keith Wilson expanded its scope and City Council made it an equal branch of public safety with a goal of 24/7 service. Today, we're talking with two key PSR officials, April Roa and Caroline Pope, about what's changed, the challenges ahead, and how close they are to round-the-clock coverage. There's a kind of rest that is still ravenous, and comfort alone is costing your soul more than you think. This week on Win Today, Tim Timberlake joins me to name the central lie of our era: that convenience equals progress. God rarely fits into the narrative designed by self‑help culture, and grief is rarely the speed bump we're told. When breakthrough is packaged and delivered, it disconnects you from the transformative power of pain. Tim unpacks why immediate comfort doesn't heal—it anesthetizes. Why rushing through grief doesn't preserve strength—it fractures your future. And why so many believers craft manufactured breakthroughs that collapse when real life tests them. If your fast-track faith feels flat…if comfort makes you morally weaker…or if you've chased progress more than presence, this episode confronts the real cost, and invites deeper formation. This week on the Lancaster Farming Industrial Hemp Podcast we're looking at hemp's environmental promise. We've all heard the claim the hemp can save the planet—but what does the science really say? I talk with environmental scientist Lorelei Alvarez and strategist Joseph Carringer, co-authors of the brand-new Hemp and Sustainability Report, published by HempToday and CannaMarkets Group. Together, we dig into the evidence, the hype, and the responsibility that comes with hemp's potential. The report breaks down hemp's impact on carbon, soil, water, and lifecycle assessments, pulling from peer-reviewed research to separate fact from fantasy. Lorelei and Joseph challenge legacy claims like “one acre of hemp equals four acres of trees,” while also highlighting real opportunities where hemp can reduce emissions, improve soil health, and support sustainable supply chains. The message is clear: hemp won't single-handedly solve our environmental problems, but when grown and processed responsibly, it can be part of the solution. One of the things I like about this report is that it raises the standard for how we talk about hemp. It asks us to back up our stories with evidence, to tell the accurate version of hemp's potential rather than the inflated one. That honesty gives the industry a stronger foundation to grow from, and it gives farmers, processors, and entrepreneurs the tools to make smarter choices. Check out the Hemp and Sustainability Report for yourself, and see what the data has to say. Hemp's future is still being written—and we all have a role to play in shaping it. Electricity demand is soaring, and some think the answer isn’t building bigger, but smaller. That’s the idea behind small modular reactors (SMRs): take a large-scale nuclear plant that’s hard to build, and shrink it down to something that’s more manageable, cheaper and easier to replicate. Instead of one huge nuclear plant, you build 10 small ones. Right now these kinds of small modular reactors are in the startup phase, with only two in commercial operation in Russia and China. So how viable is the business for these small modular reactors? And will SMRs ever become a scaled up solution for our energy needs? Rachel Slaybaugh joins Akshat Rathi on Zero to discuss.
