What if real strength isn't found in winning arguments—but in knowing when to lay down your rights? In this New Year's Eve episode of Two Pastors and a Mic, Cory and Channock close out 2025 by unpacking one of Jesus' most misunderstood teachings: meekness. Drawing from Cory's final eBook, How to Sheath Your Sword in a Violent Loving Culture, they explore why meekness is not weakness, but strength under control—and why it may be the posture Christians need most in a polarized world. You'll hear:⚔️ Why “Blessed are the meek” was a radical, counter-cultural statement
In today's episode, we speak with Eve Buck, an expert in generational trauma—the emotional and psychological wounds that are passed down from one generation to the next. Eve helps us understand that trauma isn't always caused by a single event. Sometimes, it's inherited. We may carry the weight of experiences we didn't personally live through, but that were passed to us through learned behaviors, emotional responses, and even family silence. These patterns often show up in our lives as chronic stress, anxiety, over-vigilance, or feelings of fear or mistrust, even when there's no clear explanation for them in our own personal history. Much of this is rooted in what Eve calls “direct parenting.” The way we were raised, the emotional environments we grew up in, and the unspoken rules or expectations within families all play a role. When trauma is unprocessed in one generation, it can shape the next through coping mechanisms, belief systems, and relational dynamics. But there's good news—awareness is the first step to healing. Eve shares insights on how to recognize generational trauma in your own life and offers tools to begin breaking harmful cycles. Whether it's through therapy, reflection, or conscious parenting, healing generational trauma means not only reclaiming your story, but also creating a better one for future generations. This conversation is powerful, eye-opening, and deeply human. If you've ever asked yourself, “Why do I feel this way?” or “Where did this pattern come from?”—this episode may offer the answers, and the hope, you've been seeking.

Inheritance in Christ: Herb explained that, unlike Old Testament inheritance where only the eldest son received everything, in the New Covenant every born-again believer inherits all that God has—eternal life, spiritual blessings, authority, and the Holy Spirit. Eternal Life Starts Now: Eternal life begins at the moment of being born again, not just after death. Adoption and Authority: Believers are adopted as sons of God, co-heirs with Christ, and have authority to rule in their world, starting with their neighborhood. Spiritual Blessings and Power: Every spiritual blessing, forgiveness, righteousness, wisdom, grace, peace, and purpose are part of the inheritance. Believers have freedom from sin’s power and victory over the enemy. Kingdom of Heaven: The Kingdom of God is within believers, and they have authority to bind and loose on earth as in heaven. Practical Application: Herb encouraged using spiritual authority to pray for and impact neighborhoods, resist negative thoughts, and speak God’s Word to overcome challenges. Faith and Revelation: Moving from sense knowledge to revelation knowledge is key; believers must claim their inheritance by faith and not let doubt or worldly thinking limit them. Responsibility and Dominion: Believers are responsible for advancing God’s Kingdom, resisting Satan, and setting captives free by sharing the Word. Identity in Christ: The believer’s identity is defined by union with Jesus, not by past or circumstances. All spiritual blessings are available now. Call to Action: Herb closed by urging everyone to claim their inheritance, walk in authority, and do the works Jesus did, as everything He finished is now in believers.
Family roles aren't personality traits. They are survival strategies. In this episode, Jackie talks about how these roles form within the Child Self, the Adaptive Child Self, and the Functional Adult Self framework. And how healthy families do it differently. If you grew up in a role you're trying to outgrow, if you lose your Adult Self around family, and if you're trying to break generational patterns, this episode is for you. This episode will help you understand why you became who you had to be, and how to become who you want to be now.

Send us a textMamdani's Panopticon Burden: To Inherit the Hardened and Databased Political Epistemology of the Security State(s)?By Jeremy Rothe-Kushel Host/Producer, Understanding Israel Palestine: Beyond The WallsNew York City is a paradox disguised as a metropolis. Above, the glass-and-steel canyons of Midtown reflect the accumulated wealth of empire—the real estate dynasties, the hedge funds, the global insurers. But beneath the asphalt, pulsing through fiber-optic cables and radiating from the microwave dishes atop One Police Plaza, lies a second, silent city: a digital autocracy. The invisible city does not vote. It watches, and targets. It is a “Ring of Steel” that has metastasized from a temporary post-9/11 shield into a permanent, self-governing intelligence agency. On this broadcast of Understanding Israel Palestine: Beyond The Walls, we descend into the friction point where local governance meets global counter-insurgency. We are joined by Ali Winston, an award-winning investigative journalist whose forensic reporting - including for WIRED, The Guardian, ProPublica, and The Baffler, among many others - regularly exposes police corruption, right-wing extremism, and surveillance. Our point of departure is Winston's incendiary new reporting: “Zohran Mamdani Just Inherited the NYPD Surveillance State.” It documents a profound collision: Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, whose platform was built on the promise of Palestinian rights and systemic reform, now holds the keys to a machine built to repress those very ideals. It is a machine currently operated by Commissioner Jessica Tisch—a scion of the very financial and real estate interests that fought Mamdani's rise...--Full article is here: https://open.substack.com/pub/beyondthewalls/p/mamdanis-panopticon-burden-----------Ali Winston is an independent investigative journalist and co-author of The Riders Come Out at Night. Jesus just commended infants as a model for how we enter the kingdom of heaven—wholly dependent upon God and not ourselves. To make his point clear, in Luke 18:18–30, we meet a man in quite the opposite position. He is rich and he is a ruler, powerful and a man of many possessions. He comes to Jesus with a question, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?" That's a good question. Jesus' answer points a clear way if we have ears to hear what he has to say.
"Send Us A Message"Luke 10:25-37 In this episode of the One Truth Podcast, host Josh Brockman digs into the Gospel of Luke, focusing on the parable of the Good Samaritan and the profound questions surrounding eternal life. He discusses the importance of loving God and neighbor, the challenges of fulfilling the law, and the grace that underpins salvation. The conversation emphasizes the significance of understanding biblical law in the context of faith and the revelation of God through Jesus.
If someone has ever hated, envied, gotten drunk—or even committed adultery or murder—does that mean they can't go to Heaven? In today's message, Pastor Cucuzza continues his series, "The Most Misunderstood Passages in the Bible" as he unpacks the meaning of Galatians 5:19-21.
This week, Memoir Nation connects with comedian Roy Wood Jr. on the serious topic of legacy—what we inherit and what we pass on. Wood's new memoir, The Man of Many Fathers, explores the many influences in his life, and how a complicated relationship with his own father, including losing him when Wood was just sixteen, informs how he parents his son. This is a touching and heartfelt interview about life, loss, and the hope we all have for our children, or the children in our lives. For the Book Trend, we tap into a bit of darkness in honor of Halloween, and offer up a few forthcoming true crime memoirs that are getting some early buzz. Roy Wood Jr. is a two-time Emmy-nominated writer and producer. He is a comedian, actor, and podcaster who is primarily known for his stand-up comedy and work as a correspondent on Comedy Central's The Daily Show for eight years and hosting CNN's Have I Got News for You. On this episode of The Karen Kenney Show, I dive into the difference between what's inherent in us -and- what we've inherited from the world around us. I share how we sometimes confuse the two - taking on beliefs, stories, and even problems that were passed down to us, and then we start thinking that those things are just “who we are.” Nope! The truth is, there's a wicked big difference between what's built into us at our natural core and what we pick up along the way. I talk about how being a Spiritual Being is something that's inherent - like that sucker comes "factory installed" - meaning it's just part of who we are, like our goodness, worthiness, and belonging. On the flip side, there's some stuff like religion, beliefs about money, our eye-color, or even things like self-doubt that are often inherited from our families, culture, or society. One of the big takeaways is the importance of questioning the stories and beliefs we've inherited, especially the ones that don't serve us, or don't align us with our true nature! So, I encourage you to pause and ask yourself, "What's really mine, and what did I just pick up from someone elseoutside of me?"This kind of self-reflection is a key part of personal growth and spiritual awareness. At the end of the day, I want you to remember that you are inherently good, lovable, and worthy - no matter what you've been told, what you've believed in the past, or what you've inherited. This episode is a little love letter to remind you of your true Self and to inspire you to let go of what doesn't belong to you anymore or maybe never did! Thanks so much for listening, and may you go out into the world remembering who you really are! ❤️ KK'S KEY TAKEAWAYS:• Inherent qualities are the essential, unchangeable parts of who we are, like our goodness, worthiness, and belonging.• Inherited beliefs, stories, and traits come from our families, culture, and society, and are not always true about us and our real selves.• It's important to question the ideas and narratives we've inherited, especially if they don't align with our true nature. Because shit often rolls downhill.• We're all inherently spiritual beings, connected to Love, Source, God, or the Divine, regardless of what we've been told about our limited ego-personality selves.• Much of our self-doubt and negative self-talk comes from inherited stories from our younger years, often from people who weren't emotionally intelligent at the time.• Personal growth and spiritual awareness take place when we start to get curious and reflect on what's truly ours and are willing to let go of what's not.• Remembering our inherent goodness, beauty, and belonging helps us live more authentically, joyfully, and compassionately. Fr. Mike offers a brief recap of today's chapter from Nehemiah, identifying the difference between those who were able to live in Jerusalem and those who were not. He explains the ancestral gifts that each tribe of Israel received and applies this concept to the vices and virtues of our families, as well as our freedom to adopt or reject them. Today we read from Nehemiah 11, Esther 8, 16, and Proverbs 21:17-20. For the complete reading plan, visit ascensionpress.com/bibleinayear. In this one, I talk to author and multi-disciplinary artist Tessa Hulls. She recently won the Pulitzer Prize for her graphic memoir, “Feeding Ghosts.” It's about three generations of women in her family — her grandma, her mom, and herself — and the ways their lives were shaped by political violence, migration, silence and survival. The book moves across continents and decades, weaving together personal history and national trauma. It examines what it means to be stuck in time, and carrying the reverberations of inherited trauma. It also confronts the fallibility of memory — what we remember versus what actually happened — and the tension between being Chinese and being American. Tessa's grandma would have been the keeper of the family's history, but she was a locked box — often medicated and unable to speak much English. So, at 30, after spending most of her life running from the weight of her family's story, Tessa realized that if she didn't confront it, she risked becoming the next generation of collateral damage. Tessa's been coming to Alaska for the past 14 years, and says that there's nothing that makes her feel more at home than being alone in the backcountry. Drawn by the scale of Alaska's wild places and the way they offer a kind of perspective she hasn't found anywhere else. It provides her with moments that dissolve ego — when the vastness of the landscape reminds her of how small she is. The people are in tune with change, and the shifting seasons shape daily life and identity. It's freeing and grounding at the same time. The outdoors has shaped nearly every part of Tessa's creative life, and it played a major role in the writing of “Feeding Ghosts.” It offered her the solitude and clarity she needed to confront her family's story, and it was during a stint working as a chef in Antarctica that she first began teaching herself to draw comics. She says she didn't have a choice when it came to writing it — it wasn't a passion project, but a responsibility. She felt summoned by her family's ghost to break the silence and carry their story forward. And while she has no plans to write another book, she's now thinking about how to use the attention the memoir has brought her to uplift other artists in Alaska. Photo courtesy of Gavin Doremus

She has been called a pioneer in helping people reclaim the stories that shape their lives. As an educator, author, and speaker, Lael Stone has spent decades guiding adults and children alike to recognise the imprints of their past and to rewrite them with compassion and truth. In this deeply grounding and inspiring episode, Lael joins Sarah Grynberg to explore the hidden narratives we inherit about money, love, self-worth, and success and how they quietly dictate the way we live and parent. With warmth, honesty, and lived wisdom, Lael reveals why owning our story is the key to breaking cycles, nurturing our children’s sense of enoughness, and stepping into our most authentic lives. You’ll learn: *Why the beliefs we carry from childhood still run our adult lives.*How to shift the “I’m not enough” story into one of unconditional worth.*What it takes to raise children who feel safe, seen, and deeply connected. This episode is a reminder that transformation begins not by erasing our past, but by owning it and that in doing so, we open the door to greater love, freedom, and possibility for ourselves and generations to come. Isaiah 54 calls barren hearts and barren churches to sing, enlarge, and expect. In this opening conference message, Pastor Chris Aulson casts vision for a “spiritual baby boom”: fruit that remains, disciples raised, and churches planted to the ends of the earth. Learn how God often allows our limits to surface so His power can be seen, why faith sings before it sees, and what it practically means to “lengthen cords and strengthen stakes.” The service concludes with targeted prayer for fruitfulness and for couples believing for a miracle.https://TakingTheLandPodcast.comSUBSCRIBE TO PREMIUM FOR MORE:• Subscribe for only $3/month on Supercast: https://taking-the-land.supercast.com/• Subscribe for only $3.99/month on Spotify: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/taking-the-land/subscribe• Subscribe for only $4.99/month on Apple Podcasts: https://apple.co/3vy1s5b
What Shall I Do To Inherit Eternal Life. What is internal life? Life after we depart from this world. How are we preparing for it. How do I prepare myself for heaven or the other outcome. Also tune to Gospel Reflection (Luke 10:21-28).
“The biggest word that inspired us to be here is grit.” From that charge, Brittany Vanderbeek of Aqua Action and host Khary Frazier dive into Detroit's bluest truth: “the greatest asset in the world…water,” and how our city's relationship to it will shape what comes next for Detroit. Brittany lays out Aqua Action's mission to “build a water-secure future through entrepreneurship,” explaining how everyday residents—not just agencies—can be “the people with a voice in water innovation.” Why Detroit is the hub (“so many opportunities…for water entrepreneurs to pilot their technologies”), how municipalities and startups can partner, and why design thinking means “start with the people.” The episode also gets real about tech: AI's thirst—“one simple prompt takes energy and water”—and the need for alternatives to water-cooled data centers. Brittany connects the global and the local—from a binational AquaHacking program (“anybody with an idea”) to Detroit River kayaking. If you care about Belle Isle, clean taps, and Detroit's right to define and benefit from the Blue Economy, this one's a listen. Would you like to inherit the kingdom of God? Just say, "Yes." Brahmā says, there's one technique, and that is whatever happens to you in this world—and the same kinds of things happen to all of us, understand that this is the mercy of God, because this world is not for enjoyment. It's an Airbnb, it's an Uber. You don't own it. You don't get to keep it. You don't get to stay. So why are we here? It's a classroom. We're meant to learn something. And if you accept that God's creation is perfect, and the way that He interacts with His devotees is for their ultimate good, and you accept that in your life, and you tolerate whatever miseries come as the special gift of God to purify you of your last vestiges of attachment to the material world, he said, then you inherit the kingdom of God ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #prabhupadapicks #backtogodhead #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

So many Christians live in complete ignorance of what it is to be a ‘joint heir' with Christ. They understand that they have been born again into the Kingdom of God, but bring a democracy approach to the Kingdom. It doesn't work like that. In this enlightening message, Ps. Jurgen illuminates the truths and principles that empowers the listener to experience the inheriting of the Kingdom of God in their lives!
