What does choosing joy really mean when you’re living through pain, pressure, or exhaustion? In this deeply personal solo episode, Choosing Joy host Deborah Joy Winans Williams sits down—not as an actress or celebrity, but as herself—to answer your questions, share her heart, and reflect on what joy looks like when it’s uncomfortable, spiritual, and hard-won. Deborah opens up about motherhood, mental health, faith, grief, self-worth, and how she learned (and is still learning) to choose joy daily—not just on stage, but in real life. From the lessons of her Winans family legacy to her girls' trip epiphany with Merle Dandridge to the quiet prayers that sustain her, this episode is a soulful, grounding invitation to go deeper. Whether you’re a woman of faith, an artist in progress, a mother in motion, or just someone trying to pour from a not-so-full cup—Deborah’s raw honesty and wisdom remind us that joy isn’t a mood... it’s a decision. As Fr. Mark-Mary mentioned, the friars will be taking a meaningful break to embrace the rest and the joy of the Jubilee Year. While they are away, please enjoy listening (or re-listening) to this previously released episode, and join us in continuing to pray for Fr. Mark-Mary, Fr. Innocent, Fr. Angelus, and Fr. PT as they follow God's will and heed the call of the Jubilee. The Poco a Poco podcast happens because of many generous donors, including recurring monthly donations of any amount. Thinking about helping out? You can give at https://spiritjuice.org/supportpoco. Thank you! --- “I haven't believed enough that he is enough.” That's what Br Angelo says as a guest on this episode, and how true is it for each of us? Even when we experience God's goodness, repeatedly and in big and small ways, it can be a struggle to keep believing that God is enough. He is LORD. He is enough, and we only have to give him permission to work. It sounds simple, but it can be tough when we've faced rejection in other areas of our lives. How do we believe? How do we find the courage and take the risk—to learn he always shows up? Surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. It can be a struggle, but while we might have many struggles, this is the right one.

We followed Jesus into the wilderness—not to learn willpower, but to witness the kind of freedom that only comes from being full of the Father's love.
In Matthew 6, Jesus shifts us from the public performance of religion to the secret places where real transformation happens.Prayer, fasting, and forgiveness aren't meant to impress others or manipulate God. They are invitations into intimacy with a Father who sees in secret. In this section of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus confronts how spiritual practices, when done with the wrong motives, can actually deform us. But when rooted in love, they align us with the Kingdom. Jesus isn't just offering a better method for prayer. He is rewiring our hearts to desire His presence over applause. The real question isn't Are you doing the right things? It's Why are you doing them and who are you doing them for?

What satisfies us? Choosing to be satisfied by something or someone other than God will leave us dry and barren, searching for more. God satisfies our deepest needs. Will we trust Him on this journey?Message by Devin Burton, "God is Enough" as part of our "Guided Journey" series. Message from March 23, 2025. Centralia Community Church, Centralia, WA. cccog.comIt is important to know your guide on a journey. The Psalms give us a picture of who God is and what He invites us into. We can trust Him to protect us, to show us the way, and to rescue us. We are active partners in this journey, and we can live life in His presence.
Because of a previous battle with a tumor, Drew knew having children might be a challenge when he & Chrissy got married. He was right, but now they're both thankful for their eventual answer -embryo adoption- and confident it was the road God had for them all along. It's even created opportunities for them to share their son Theo and his story at art shows! But more than anything, it's taught them that God is enough, even when facing the possible death of a dream. When we say "God is enough," it means that God's presence, love, provision, and sovereignty are sufficient to meet all our needs—spiritual, emotional, and physical. In this sermon, Pastor Nana Kofi Acquah encourages us to reflect on the various ways in which God has been enough throughout the year. Be blessed as you listen and share with a friend.
How much is enough for you? With all the things that we accumulate in this life, when do you get to a place of contentment? What could provide you with contentment? In this final message of the metamorphosis series, Pastor Fikre Prince shares from Hebrews 13 that we can keep ourselves free from the love of money by keeping our love and dependency of God as a priority.Text: Hebrews 13:5,6 Big Idea: Contentment comes when we love God, not money.Key Question: How can I embrace contentment? 1. Renounce loving money. (v. 5a)2. Remember God's promise. (v. 5b)3. Respond with confident faith. (v. 6)

If you'd like to learn more, please visit us at duboisfmc.org and follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. This week we will look at something we do, even as Christians, that causes us to 'Live on PAUSE' instead of walking out everything that God has for us. Then we will learn how to make God the 'Center' of our lives, so that, we can Live In True Peace right now on earth as it is and will be in Heaven.

In today's podcast episode, we'll explore the important reminder that God is enough in our lives, and how we can trust in His provision and sufficiency. This is Part 2 of 4.In times of doubt or distraction, remember: He (God) is enough. Trust in His provision, seek His wisdom, and you will overcome any obstacle in your path. We dig deeper into the parable of the weeds, the story of Daniel, Meshach, Shadrach, and Abednego. These biblical narratives not only reassure us of God's omnipotent presence in our live because as we navigate through these stories, we're reminded of the profound truth that seeking the Lord first is not just a choice but a necessity.
