Have you ever felt exhausted from constantly thinking about how you're doing, how you're perceived, what you're accomplishing, or whether you're enough? If we're honest, most of us live there more often than we'd like to admit. This week on The Love Offering Podcast, I sat down with author Morgan Krueger to talk about her new book, Made to Magnify: Choosing to Live for Jesus When Everything Tells You to Live for Yourself. Together, we explored a truth that feels both challenging and freeing: the more focused we become on ourselves, the more anxious, insecure, and unsatisfied we often feel. In a culture that constantly tells us to build our own platform, protect our image, and chase self-fulfillment, Morgan offers a refreshing invitation to lift our eyes and fix them on Jesus instead. In this episode, you'll discover: • Why self-focus often leads to anxiety, comparison, and striving• The three struggles that commonly keep us stuck: pride, fear, and doubt• How confession, community, and God's Word help us break free from isolation• Simple ways to magnify Jesus in everyday life• Why the small, unseen acts of faithfulness matter more than we realize• How Mary's words, "My soul magnifies the Lord," can become our daily prayer If you've been feeling weary from carrying the weight of proving yourself, performing for others, or trying to control every outcome, I believe this conversation will encourage your heart. Friend, you were never created to make your own name great. You were created to magnify His. And as you do, you'll discover the joy, peace, and purpose your heart has been longing for all along. Have you ever thought, “I want more time for fun with my kids,” and then immediately felt tired? Fun sounds beautiful, but in real life it can start to feel like one more thing to plan, one more thing to pay for, one more thing to clean up, and one more thing to manage. In this episode, I'm talking about simple joys for real-life motherhood — the kind that fit real budgets, real energy levels, real homes, and real family seasons. I share a few ways our family has been finding small moments of connection lately, from discount movie dates with one child, to a paint-by-number project on the table, to walks, read-alouds, audiobooks, and family room time. And I want to be clear: fun does not always have to become a lesson. Sometimes learning is found in the fun, and homeschool moms can record those things later if they want to. But sometimes the gift is simply being together. If you've been wanting more fun with your kids but you do not have the energy for a big plan, this episode will help you look for one small thing that fits your real life. Some days, motherhood feels deeply meaningful. Other days, it feels like wiping counters, making lunches, repeating yourself for the hundredth time, and wondering if any of it really matters. If you’ve ever gone to bed thinking, “I’ll do better tomorrow,” this week’s conversation on The Love Offering Podcast is for you. I had the joy of talking with bestselling author and speaker Rhonda Stoppe about her new book, Moms of the Bible: Life-Changing Lessons from the Fearless, Flawed, and Faithful. Together, we talked honestly about mom guilt, comparison, prodigals, spiritual motherhood, God’s grace, and the sacred significance of everyday faithfulness. I especially loved how she reminded us that the women of Scripture were real women—fearless at times, flawed at times, but always deeply loved and used by God. Their stories remind us that God doesn’t require perfection from us as mothers. He simply asks for willing hearts surrendered to Him. In this episode, we discuss:• How God uses imperfect mothers• The danger of comparison and control• Why spiritual motherhood matters• What to do with regret and mom guilt• The quiet significance of ordinary faithfulness• How loving God first shapes the way we love our families Rhonda also shares beautiful encouragement for weary moms and reminds us that the greatest thing our children can witness is not perfection—but a mother who genuinely loves Jesus. Whether you’re parenting little ones, teenagers, adult children, or simply pouring into the next generation spiritually, I think this conversation will encourage your heart. Have you ever finally had a little help, quiet, or breathing room, and instead of resting, your brain immediately started listing everything you could get done? The laundry. The dishes. The paperwork. The homeschool planning. The phone calls. The clutter. All the things that have been waiting because the needs in front of you were louder. In this episode, I'm talking about why rest can feel so hard for tired homeschool moms — especially when there is unfinished work everywhere and real people still need you. I share honestly about learning this in my own life as a homeschool mom, Navy wife, and special needs mom who is learning how to run a caregiving marathon without using every pocket of help to work harder. This is not a “take a spa day” episode. It is a gentle reminder that rest is not laziness when it helps you return to your family with more patience, steadiness, and love. If you have been feeling guilty for needing a break, I pray this episode helps you receive one small moment of rest as part of faithful stewardship. Faith, Surrender & Joy | Mother's Day 2026 In this message from 1 Samuel 1, we look at Hannah's honest prayer before God and what her story teaches about faith, surrender, and joy. Alongside real stories from women in different seasons of motherhood and life, this sermon explores how God remains faithful through infertility, adoption, hardship, parenting struggles, uncertainty, and waiting. No matter what season you are walking through, this message encourages listeners to trust God's plan, pray honestly, and discover the joy that comes through surrendering fully to Him. Key Insights: Honest prayer and surrender are often the starting point for healing and spiritual growth. God's plan for your life does not need to look like anyone else's to still be meaningful and good. Lasting joy is not dependent on circumstances but on trusting and following God. Parenting and influence are strengthened through community, faithfulness, and daily surrender. God can work through seasons of disappointment, uncertainty, and pain to shape deeper trust and purpose. In this special Saturday episode of the Raising Godly Girls Podcast, we pause to celebrate Christian motherhood in all its forms—the visible and the unseen, the joyful and the sacrificial, the seasons of waiting and the moments of fulfillment. Host Rachael Culpepper is joined by beloved Christian artist, author, and mom Rebecca St. James for a conversation that honors the sacred calling of mothers and the God who faithfully meets them in every chapter.    Rebecca reflects on how her journey of faith has evolved through marriage and motherhood, sharing how God has shaped her heart through seasons of obedience, surrender, and trust. Drawing from her new book, Lasting Ever: Faith, Music, Family, and Being Found by True Love, co-authored with her husband Cubbie Fink, Rebecca offers encouragement to moms who may feel stretched thin or wonder if their quiet faithfulness truly matters.    The conversation also celebrates the intergenerational impact of Christian witness—from Rebecca's early years in music ministry to her recent time with AHG Girl Members and families at the American Heritage Girls 30th Anniversary Convention. Together, Rachael and Rebecca reflect on the beauty of raising girls rooted in Biblical truth in a culture that often challenges faith and conviction.    This episode is a gentle reminder that God is at work in every role a mother carries—whether nurturing children at home, mentoring girls in her community, or quietly praying behind the scenes. If you're longing for reassurance that your obedience and love are bearing fruit, this conversation will speak hope into your heart.    Pull up a chair, take a deep breath, and join us for this encouraging Saturday reflection on faith, family, and the lasting work God is doing through Christian mothers.    Scriptures Referenced in this Episode:    Hebrews 11  Isaiah 61:3  2 Corinthians 12:9-11  John 16:33  Isaiah 53:2-3  Philippians 4:8  Titus 2:3      To learn more about Rebecca's new book, Lasting Ever, or her ongoing ministry, be sure to visit rebeccastjames.com    Visit raisinggodlygirls.com for more encouragement and faith-based parenting tools.        Learn how to find or start an American Heritage Girls Troop in your community at americanheritagegirls.org.

Have you ever wondered, “Am I the only one who feels this overwhelmed?” Or quietly questioned if you’re doing any of this motherhood thing “right”? In this week’s episode of The Love Offering Podcast, I had the sweetest conversation with Andrea Fortenberry—author of Two Minute Timeouts for New Moms—and I think her words will feel like a deep breath for your soul. Andrea gently reminds us that motherhood is both beautiful and hard. From the sleepless newborn days to the bittersweet seasons of letting go, every stage carries its own mix of joy and stretching. And yet, in all of it, you are not alone—and you were never meant to do this on your own. We talked about:• Why so many moms feel overwhelmed and isolated (and the truth that sets us free)• How pride can quietly keep us from asking for the help we truly need• Letting go of perfectionism and embracing “good enough” motherhood• Finding meaningful moments with God—even in the middle of a full, busy day• Releasing mom guilt and receiving God’s grace for yourself One of my favorite reminders from our conversation is this: God knows your season. He sees the late nights, the messy middle, the quiet prayers whispered in the bathroom, and He meets you right there with love and grace. If your heart feels a little tired or stretched thin, I pray this episode encourages you to pause, breathe, and remember that you are doing better than you think. And if a friend comes to mind who might need this encouragement too, would you share it with her? Sometimes the smallest encouragement can make the biggest difference. You are deeply loved, friend, and what you’re doing matters more than you know. Have you ever ended a homeschool day and thought, “Did we even do school today?” Maybe the math lesson took three times longer than it should have. Maybe the reading lesson turned into tears. Maybe chores dragged on forever, sibling conflict showed up again, and most of your energy went toward correction, attitude work, and constant redirection. In this episode, I'm talking about the homeschool days that feel wasted on paper — especially the days after co-op, appointments, errands, playdates, travel, or other high-output days. I share how I began noticing the “kickback” that often came after a full day out of the house, and why those recovery days may be revealing more than you think. If you are a Christian homeschool mom who feels discouraged when the lesson plan falls apart, this episode will help you see the hard days with more peace, more wisdom, and less panic. Because sometimes the day that looks wasted is actually the day where some of the deepest learning is happening. Have you ever heard your kids start fighting in the other room and felt your whole body tense up before you even knew what happened? I talk about what it looks like in our own neurodivergent family, with ADHD, autism, auditory processing challenges, different sound thresholds, and my own adult-diagnosed ADHD in the mix. Sometimes the goal is not to force everyone through a fast apology. Sometimes the wiser move is to stop and separate, calm and listen, and repair later when hearts and brains are ready. If you have ever stepped into a sibling fight too hot, talked too long, corrected before you understood the whole story, or tried to rush reconciliation because you just wanted the arguing to stop, this episode will give you a simple, faith-filled way forward. What does it look like to live fully surrendered to God — not just once, but day after day, season after season? In this conversation, Shelley Giglio sits down with Priscilla Shirer – wife, mother, author, and speaker – to reflect on the powerful move of God they're seeing in this generation, especially through gatherings like Passion, where tens of thousands of young adults are showing up hungry for the Word of God, not just motivation. Priscilla shares how she has spoken identity-shaping declarations over her sons for years and how that same truth now calls a wider generation to live like who God says they are. They talk honestly about surrender: laying down comfort, preferences, and even good opportunities when God says “go” or “stay.” Priscilla tells the story of filming War Room and being willing to lay acting down to honor her marriage and family, and together she and Shelley unpack the danger of confusing ministry with platform in a social-media age. From five unseen years discipling a handful of college girls, to the story behind The Jesus Bible, to a powerful reminder that maybe we don't need more clarity but more courage, this episode invites us to see every ordinary moment as ministry and to trust that God is forming us — even when no one is watching. If you've ever felt like being “just a mom” isn't enough, this episode is for you. So many moms quietly carry the weight of wondering whether what they do all day really matters. In a world that celebrates visible success, motherhood can feel small, repetitive, and easy to overlook—even when you know deep down that it matters. In this episode, I'm talking about the quiet pressure many mothers feel to prove their worth, and why that pressure can leave even faithful, loving moms questioning whether their role is enough. We'll gently come back to the truth about presence, the hidden value of motherhood, and the deeper place our identity is meant to rest. If you've ever wrestled with feeling unseen, unimportant, or like you should be doing more, I hope this conversation helps you exhale and remember that your life is not too small. Your presence matters more than this culture wants you to believe, and your worth was never meant to come from what you produce. It comes from being known and loved by God. XOXO, Katie

In this heartfelt Community Conversation, Angel Miraya joins Shelly to talk about the complicated, beautiful season of midlife where multiple roles collide—mom, grandmother, daughter, caregiver, and woman rediscovering her own purpose. Angel shares how running four half-marathons in 28 days became a spiritual reset, how she's supporting her daughter through single motherhood, and why perspective, community, and prayer are everything. Her story offers encouragement for every woman navigating transitions she didn't expect, holding joy and grief at the same time, and learning to trust God with the pieces of life that feel too heavy to carry alone.Key Takeaways:You can hold joy and grief together—midlife is full of bittersweet moments.Allowing yourself to feel your emotions helps you process change instead of pushing through it.Intentional prayer creates space for perspective, peace, and God's guidance.Surrender isn't passive—it's choosing to trust God with outcomes you can't control.Supporting adult children looks different in every season, and grace is required on both sides.Grandmotherhood brings unexpected gifts and healing for the parts of motherhood you didn't get to experience.Perspective determines whether you see your responsibilities as burdens or as opportunities to love and serve.Community—safe friends who pray with you and for you—makes all the difference in a demanding season.Small daily shifts in obedience, kindness, or encouragement create a legacy bigger than any milestone.God often answers prayers in ways we didn't expect, but His timing is always intentional and good. Today's episode is part of our Christian parenting mini-series we are offering on “Motherhood Taboos” and we are tackling a big taboo of finding out you're pregnant ... and you weren't planning to be. Our guests are both priests who found themselves unexpectedly pregnant and want to narrate the grief and the joy, the surprise and the wonder, and the challenge and hope of a blessing that can leave you limping from a worldview that supports women's autonomy, choice, and freedom. MORE ABOUT OUR GUESTS:Rev. Mia Kano is an Episcopal priest in the Diocese of Massachusetts, where she serves as the part-time Rector of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Ayer. She lives in Acton, Massachusetts with her husband and two children. Rev. Mia's childhood was shaped by both Catholic and Congregationalist churches. She found her way to the Episcopal Church in her early twenties after exploring secular humanism and Islam. She was ordained as a priest in January 2020. Rev. Reagan Gonzalez was born in Odessa, Texas and raised in Bozeman, Montana. She grew up attending St. James Episcopal Church in Bozeman and later served as its Youth Director and Christian Formation Director before attending seminary. She is a graduate of Montana State University with a degree in Microbiology. After college, Reagan spent a year living in intentional community during a year of service with the Episcopal Service Corps. This experience deepened her faith and confirmed a desire to formally discern a call to ordained ministry. She earned an MDiv from the Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas and was ordained to the priesthood in 2018. Reagan has a passion for community life that is grounded in inclusivity. She loves to preach, teach, tell Godly Play stories to children, and introduce people to an open-minded Christianity where questions are welcomed, and where we trust that we learn best by struggling together to hear where the Holy Spirit is calling. Reagan is married to Bryan, they have two children, and one on the way. +++Like what you hear? The Well - Health and Wholeness- Empowered Wellness, Mindset, Faith and Freedom- Holistic Self Care for overwhelmed anxious m

In this heartfelt episode, I open up about the question I've been wrestling with: What can I actually do — as a wife, a mom, and a follower of Christ — to make a difference in this world? Instead of getting overwhelmed by the noise, I take a step back to explore what real change looks like when it starts in our own homes, hearts, and daily choices. We'll dive into:

There just is not enough content online about motherhood that speaks both to Christian faith and progressive, inclusive values. We're trying to change that discourse, one conversation at a time, in a mini-series we're calling "Christian Motherhood Taboos." Today we take an overview of why this matters, why talking about motherhood is ALWAYS talking about power, gender, economics, whose suffering counts, and humanity as a whole, and why this series is not "just" for moms ... but for any community striving to honor the dignity and worth of every human being. +++Like what you hear? What does choosing joy really mean when you’re living through pain, pressure, or exhaustion? In this deeply personal solo episode, Choosing Joy host Deborah Joy Winans Williams sits down—not as an actress or celebrity, but as herself—to answer your questions, share her heart, and reflect on what joy looks like when it’s uncomfortable, spiritual, and hard-won. Deborah opens up about motherhood, mental health, faith, grief, self-worth, and how she learned (and is still learning) to choose joy daily—not just on stage, but in real life. From the lessons of her Winans family legacy to her girls' trip epiphany with Merle Dandridge to the quiet prayers that sustain her, this episode is a soulful, grounding invitation to go deeper. Whether you’re a woman of faith, an artist in progress, a mother in motion, or just someone trying to pour from a not-so-full cup—Deborah’s raw honesty and wisdom remind us that joy isn’t a mood... it’s a decision. I've been asked about parenting teenagers, by some people who are anticipating their children soon growing to be teens. This collection of observations is a snapshot of what I've been learning thus far (with my 20, 18, 16, 14, 12, 8 year olds). I expect to have more and less to say down the track, but also know that immediacy counts for something. This episode is a forerunner to anything I might say in the future about youth ministry. If you've ever felt completely overwhelmed by motherhood—juggling appointments, trying to homeschool, and holding everything together without help—this episode is for you. In this Summer Throwback, I'm sharing the simple, grace-filled system I created during a season of solo parenting and total exhaustion. When my husband was deployed and I was managing therapies, special diets, and daily life with little ones, I didn't need a fancy planner—I needed a lifeline. So I made a three-ring notebook with basic daily checklists, snack ideas, therapy notes, and even encouraging Scripture. It wasn't perfect, but it became my sanity-saver.You'll also hear how this tool brought calm to our home and made space for connection, rest, and joy—things I never thought possible in that season. Whether you're drowning in to-dos, managing special needs, or just craving a little more peace, this episode offers practical encouragement to help you simplify and breathe again.

In this episode I start with a brief history of the problem that Sunday Schools were first trying to solve. I then spend time considering how the 17th Century challenges are not the same as ours, which then raises the question of what Children's Ministries exist for in 21st Century Australia.  I mention Charlotte Mason, Vol.2 Parents and Children p.92-100.
