Trump's “Triple Sabotage” at UN Donald Trump cried foul after his UN speech was marred by an escalator stop, a dead teleprompter, and sound glitches. Executive OverviewThe week's events illustrate escalating risks at the intersection of industrial operations, national security, personal privacy, and emerging technology. Major cyber incidents demonstrate how fragile digital infrastructure has become, while privacy erosion continues through corporate data monetization and state surveillance. Human error persists as a dominant threat vector, and rapid technological advancement remains both a shield and a source of risk.I. Systemic Infrastructure & Supply Chain VulnerabilitiesThe cyberattack on Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) exemplifies cascading industrial risks. A phishing entry point forced JLR to halt global production, costing up to £100M and threatening thousands of suppliers with collapse. The UK government faces mounting pressure to intervene. Meanwhile, the U.S. Federal Highway Administration uncovered hidden radios in foreign-made power systems—likely Chinese—used in traffic signs, EV chargers, and weather stations. These undocumented components could enable remote disruption or espionage, underscoring critical supply chain insecurity.II. Privacy Erosion & Data CommercializationPersonal data is increasingly commodified:Airlines (via ARC) sold five billion passenger records to agencies like FBI and ICE for warrantless surveillance, skirting legal oversight. Senator Wyden is pushing legislation to close this loophole.Verizon was fined $46.9M for unlawfully selling location data, setting legal precedent that Section 222 protects customer location.UK employers are rapidly adopting “bossware,” with one-third monitoring staff emails, browsing, or screens. While justified as productivity or insider threat control, critics warn of eroded trust and pervasive surveillance culture.III. The Human Factor in Cyber BreachesHumans remain the weak link:Schools: Over half of insider data breaches stemmed from students, mostly using stolen or guessed credentials. Motivated by curiosity, some exposed thousands of records.Global theft rings: A single stolen iPhone exposed a transnational phishing and resale network spanning six countries. The scheme used fake iCloud links to bypass Apple's protections.Russia's “Max” app: Marketed as secure, it is exploited by fraudsters renting accounts for scams. With nearly 10% of scam calls traced to Max, new laws now criminalize account transfers.IV. Technology's Dual EdgeInnovation provides stronger defenses but also reckless failures:Apple launched Memory Integrity Enforcement, a silicon-level protection against buffer overflows and side-channel exploits, deployed on iPhone 17 and iPhone Air.Google's VaultGemma, a 1B-parameter model trained with differential privacy, promises competitive performance without exposing sensitive data—an advance in privacy-preserving AI.AI Darwin Awards highlight failures from poor oversight: Taco Bell's misfiring AI drive-thru, McDonald's compromised recruiting chatbot, Replit's database-wiping AI, and even the satirical awards site itself.
EP 260 This is our last update before a two week break so we've packed it.We start with the devastating cyber attack on Jaguar Land Rover exposes the fragility of modern manufacturing, halting production and threatening the UK's automotive supply chain.Russia's state-backed Max messaging app, touted as secure, has become a breeding ground for scams, undermining user trust and safety.UK schools face a surge in cyber attacks driven by students exploiting weak credentials, revealing critical gaps in educational data security.A stolen iPhone sparked a security researcher's investigation, dismantling a global criminal network profiting from phishing and device theft.Major US airlines are selling billions of passenger records to the government, enabling warrantless surveillance and raising privacy alarms.A federal court upholds a $46.9M fine against Verizon for illegally selling customer location data, reinforcing privacy protections.A third of UK employers deploy 'bossware' to monitor workers, sparking concerns over privacy and trust in the workplace.Undetected Chinese-made radios in US highway infrastructure raise alarms over potential remote tampering and data theft.Apple's Memory Integrity Enforcement introduces robust protection against memory-based attacks, setting a new standard for device security.Google's VaultGemma pioneers privacy-focused AI, leveraging differential privacy to safeguard user data in large language models. The AI Darwin Awards spotlight reckless AI deployments, from fast-food blunders to catastrophic data losses, it's both entertaining and scary at the same time.Adventures await in the mistake before the break!

Have you ever felt a quiet knowing that something in your life was off — and tried to ignore it because you feared what it might change? In this episode, we talk about what happens when that quiet knowing becomes impossible to ignore. Amber Rae shares how meeting someone unexpectedly brought a truth she had been avoiding into sharp focus—a truth that, once faced, meant her marriage and the life she'd built would have to change. She opens up about telling her then-husband, navigating the fear and guilt that followed, and the backlash that came from choosing what felt true over what felt safe. We explore how to know if it's time to stay or go, the role of self-trust in big decisions, and why liberation is always a two-way street. We also dive into breaking free from people-pleasing, setting boundaries that last, and working with emotions like guilt and anger without letting them run the show. Amber talks about reclaiming intimacy after years without it, voicing insecurities to deepen connection, and following what brings you alive in love, career, and life. If you've ever wondered what might happen if you truly listened to yourself, this conversation will give you the courage and clarity to find out. === Have you watched our previous episode with Dr. Jude Currivan? This week Steve and Yvonne interview Jordan Strokovsky of Strokovsky LLC (https://actionafterinjury.com/). Remember to rate and review GTP in iTunes: Click Here to Rate and Review View/Download Trial Documents Case Details: Jordan won his client a $30 million recovery against Temple University Hospital in one of the largest medical malpractice cases in Pennsylvania's history. Despite the hospital's denial of wrongdoing, Jordan refused their offer of $3 million and prepared tirelessly for court to ensure a just outcome for his client. The hospital admitted fault and the jury awarded $25.9M to Jordan's Mr. Parks ($6M for future medical costs and $20M for pain and suffering) after a comprehensive investigation and a hard-fought trial. The hospital hired three law firms in an attempt to overturn the verdict and offered a settlement less than the awarded amount. Jordan's client refused to settle, and Jordan won every argument against the big firms. The court refused the hospital's request to reduce the verdict, and $3.7 million in delay damages were added. The total recovery now exceeds $30 million, including over $600,000 in interest. No appeal was filed. Guest Bio: Jordan Strokovsky Jordan Strokovsky is a trial lawyer serving the catastrophically injured in a diverse range of cases, including medical malpractice, birth injury, truck accidents, fires, explosions, plane crashes, premises liability, product liability, workplace injuries, toxic torts, civil rights, car accidents, and sexual assault. His hard work ethic, integrity, and compassion earn him the trust of his clients and the respect of his opponents. These attributes have also helped him obtain significant verdicts and settlements. For good reason, many lawyers refer or seek to co-counsel their serious injury and wrongful death cases with Jordan. Jordan handles countless catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases and routinely handles cases pro bono to help his community. His volunteer work includes taking a civil rights case to verdict with the Volunteer Attorney Panel of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, representing victims of sexual abuse with the Support Center for Child Advocates, and successfully handling various cases from Philadelphia VIP. He has been recognized by the court for his service and was a featured volunteer by Philadelphia VIP. As an animal lover and dog owner, Jordan has also championed animal rights causes, helping establish that pets should not be viewed as property under the law. He also serves on the Pennsylvania Association for Justice Board of Directors and has previously served on boards for non-profits that help animals, homeless people, and refugees. Jordan is the former co-chair of the State Civil Litigation Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association and was proud to help implement town halls at the start of the pandemic, which allowed the court and legal community to communicate during those uncertain times. He now co-chairs both the Civil Rules and Wellness Committees at the bar association. Jordan has served as an adjunct law school professor and occasionally speaks at seminars to other personal injury lawyers. He is also regularly asked by news outlets to provide legal commentary. Jordan graduated from Widener University Delaware Law School as Valedictorian of his class, where several of his professors would comment that his academic performance and mind for the law were among the most impressive they had ever seen. While in school, he interned with three Philadelphia judges: the Honorable M. Faith Angell (E.D. Pa), the Honorable Arnold L. New (Common Pleas), and the Honorable Paul P. Panepinto (Common Pleas) and used these internships as opportunities to get in the courtroom and watch many trials. He was also a member of the Law Review. After his commencement speech at graduation, the Governor of Delaware declared that he would never want to follow Jordan in speaking again. While practicing law full-time, Jordan obtained a Master of Law in Trial Advocacy at the nationally renowned Temple University Beasley School of Law LL.M. Program in the Spring of 2018, where he received special recognition from the faculty for his trial performances and was a jury favorite—earning the highest scores from the jury at his showcase trial. Del Monte Foods has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, marking one of the largest food shipper bankruptcies in recent years, with over $1 billion in liabilities. This event profoundly impacts transportation and logistics companies, including Uber Freight (listed as Transplace in the filing), which is owed over $9 million, as detailed in the article "Uber Freight faces $9M hit in Del Monte Bankruptcy". A new report from the American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI), indicates a continuing downward trend in driver wage growth from 2024 through the first quarter of 2025. This deceleration, attributed to reduced driver demand, saw the rate of growth drop significantly from 7.6% in 2023 to 2.4% in 2024, and only 0.9% in the first two months of 2025, as further explained in "Truck driver wages downshifting in 2025". There is growing speculation around the next Class One railroad merger in the United States, fueled by a surge of investor interest from a UK investor. While major mergers were once considered a thing of the past due to strict regulatory oversight, the industry's desire for structural changes and improvements could drive new east-west merger possibilities, a topic explored in "UK investor sees not one, but two, pathways to rail mergers". Finally, tune in to FreightWaves TV for What The Truck?!? live at noon.
