I LOVE Christmas! But sometimes, it feels like a pressure cooker...from financial stress to relationships with family that might be strained at best. Especially the pressure that I put on myself with crazy expectations. What will my family think? Is it enough? Can I do more? What if, what if, what if??? How do YOU handle stress? People say, "The Lord will never give you more than you can handle." I don't believe that. We're talking about HOW to HANDLE stress on Crud Talk E166. www.sonyabrunner.com Sonya Brunner - Fifty Shades of Grace (Facebook page) @sonya4him - Instagram @cruddealer - TikTok Sonya (The CRUD Dealer) Brunner - Linkedin Got Crud? HO HO HO lovies ! I LOVE Christmas. It is definitely my favorite holiday. A wonderful time with your family and friends, and what a better topic to talk about than my favorites of this holiday season. Maybe we have something in common. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season! See you all soon!
Welcome to episode #68 of "Not Me, But You!" Do you enjoy the Christmas season? The particular holiday that you celebrate is not as important to me, as what you do with the holiday season. I LOVE Christmas time and each year I use it reflect upon the year that has passed and to look forward to the New Year. In this episode I talk about it sometimes being necessary to take what appears to be "drastic steps" in order to be successful. I talk about real life ideas for you to consider to help you save money each month. There are plenty of people who talk about "budget cutting." I believe having a budget is key but I focus more of my energy on increasing income rather than always looking to ONLY cut expenses. Your monthly budget is nothing more than a math equation. We simply need to get that math equation working in you favor each month. To put it simply, we all need to spend less money than the income that we have coming in each month. Wealthy people think differently when compared to the average person. I discuss how wealthy people think of their dollars AS their employees. The job of our dollars is to make us MORE dollars. So if you want to be in business but have never owned your own business, realize that it's your job to manage your dollars (employees) so that your money goes to work to make you more money. In general, I have compassion for the normal struggles that small business owners face. 2020 where we saw the lockdown of local economies has caused me to have even greater compassion for small business owners. Most small businesses can't survive months and months of a locked down economy. So if you lost your business in 2020 email me at waypatoday@gmail.com and I'll help to give you some ideas on how you can use the power of your internet connection to create a new business. Lastly, realize the extreme value of your time. We can only spend time once in this life. So guard your time and treat it as the precious commodity that it is. How much time do you spend each week/month in front of screens being entertained? I make a conscious effort to track my screen time. By tracking my screen time, I make sure that I dedicate time each day to working on achieving on goals. Have courage today, to pick one thing, and work on your dreams. For most of my career, I had the time and energy to do everything myself. All of the recording, editing, graphics, online promotion. I did it all. It was exhausting. It was also all before I got married and had kids. I came to realize I needed help over the past ten years. So I put out a call to folks online. Miranda Nelson offered to help me with graphics. Three years later, she now does nearly all the graphics for my music and all of my podcasts. So let me start by saying. Thank you Miranda for all your help and welcome to the pub. How did you find my music and podcasts? What inspired you to want to do the thankless job of graphic design for a nobody musician and podcaster? FOUND MUSIC AND PODCASTS & WHY How did you get into Celtic culture and music? And how long have you been a geek? HOW So this is largely a Christmas podcast. I made it clear last week that I hate Halloween. Alright, now imagine the exact opposite of that...like as far from that as you could possibly get...and that is how much I LOVE Christmas. I've notice this year that a lot more people are rushing toward the Holiday than usual. And I think that's okay. It makes sense. Let's talk about it!

I LOVE Christmas. Love it. Love the food. Love the banter. Love squabbling with my siblings and all the silly traditions that get built up over time. It is, far and away, my favourite time of year. And given I consider myself a bonafide Christmas expert, I want to share with you my five tips for the perfect big day this year:Experiences are better than things. This is the same piece of advice I give you every year. As far as I’m concerned they can put those words on my headstone. If you are giving gifts and you’re still flat out of ideas… try not to cop out and buy some old junk that will be forgotten and abandoned before you know it. Give someone an experience. It could be anything. A picnic. Tickets to a concert. A meal at a nice restaurant. I have one mate who bought his brother a colonic irrigation for Christmas. ‘Hey!’ he figured. ‘You’re not gonna buy it yourself!’ A fancy fitness tracker might last a few years, but but the memory of a colonic irrigation lasts a lifetime.Share the load. If there’s someone in your house who does all the cooking, then you had better do all the dishes. If there’s someone in your house doing all the cooking and someone doing all the dishes, you had better fix everyone a drink and make sure to set the table. If there’s someone doing all the cooking and someone doing all the dishes and someone fixing drinks and setting the table then for goodness’ sake use your initiative and vacuum or something. Instead of asking the Christmas boss ‘Is there anything I can do?’, and ‘What would it help for me to do?’This is related to rule two, but it’s something that really grinds my gears. If someone else is doing the dishes… don’t mess with the system. If you’re cooking a roast turkey or a ham or potatoes… inevitably there are going to be some dishes that cannot go in the dishwasher. Perhaps, if you’re like my Dad, you will steadfastly refuse to use a dishwasher anyway. If you are someone who takes pride in their dishwashing ability, you will no doubt run a complex system of rinsing, washing, and soaking. There’s a good chance this will involve multiple sinks and bench space. And if you’re like me, you will know how infuriating it is when someone casually walks up and dumps a dirty dish in your pristine dish water, or flicks their gravy onto a roasting pan that’s already been washed. Respect the dishwashers. Respect the system.Get some exercise. I’m not saying you have to tramp the Kepler or swim Cook Straight but if you have time on Christmas Day, taking a half an hour stroll. At our place we try and play backyard cricket. Last year, a couple of mates met in the park for a rousing game of rounders. A bit of exercise is a great stress-reliever. And Honestly, it makes all the difference when it comes to Christmas lunch, because not only are you more likely to work up a bit of an appetite, you’re slightly less likely to end up wallowing in self-loathing after your fifth serving of Christmas pudding.Be grateful. When I lived in the States, I always loved Thanksgiving because it explicitly forces everyone to take stock and consider the things for which they are most grateful. We don’t do Thanksgiving, but Christmas is the perfect time to do exactly the same thing. Maybe you’d consider doing it at the dinner table… everyone could say a few things for which they feel grateful. When you consider the year we’ve had… honestly, just being here is reason enough. You might find that being grateful adds a bit of perspective at a time when it’s easy to lose it… and it acts as a good antidote... the yin to the yang of consumerism and gluttony. Those are my tips. That’s my advice. Wherever you are and whatever you’re doing: Meri Kirihimete e te whanau - have a wonderful Christmas.LISTEN TO AUDIO ABOVE

I don’t know about you, but I LOVE Christmas. Which is the exact reason I'm running an encore episode to a VERY relevant topic for this time of year! In this episode of Ads That Convert, I go full on answering a very common question....What do I do with my FB ads over Christmas? Should you turn them off on Christmas Day/Boxing Day/New Year’s Day, and then back on again? Will they be more expensive? Will anyone want to buy? If these are questions you've found yourself asking in relation to the holidays, and whether or not your ads will be effective during the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping and festivities, then you're going to want to click play and hear all about it! In this episode: Is it really a good idea to run ads over the festive period? The do's and don'ts of pausing/stopping/scaling ads over Christmas and New Year. Will your ads become more expensive during the holiday season? A smart hack to keeping your ad results on track and your cost per lead down! Links mentioned: Join the VIP Waitlist for Ads On Fire! I don’t know about you, but I LOVE Christmas. Mainly because I get to watch the excitement and joy on the face of my 7 year old son when he sees his presents from Santa under the tree. But I absolutely love all the old traditions that go with Christmas too. We go full on with putting out a wee dram and some cookies for Santa, and a carrot for Rudolf. And this weekend we’ll be choosing a tree, and putting up the Christmas lights on the house. Scary how fast Christmas comes around…..especially when you’re planning out a holiday campaign in your business! Which leads into a question I’m often asked at this time of year......what do I do with my FB ads over Christmas? Should you turn them off on Christmas Day/Boxing Day/New Year’s Day, and then back on again? Will they be more expensive? Will anyone want to buy? All questions that I'm answering in this episode of Ads That Convert. In this week's episode you'll discover: Is it really a good idea to run ads over the festive period? The do's and don'ts of pausing/stopping/scaling ads over Christmas and New Year. Will your ads become more expensive during the holiday season? A smart hack to keeping your ad results on track and your cost per lead down! Links mentioned: Join the VIP Waitlist for Ads On Fire! Hello hello, hello everyone! Civilla Morgan here! Merry Christmas! And welcome back to another episode of Childless, not by Choice, where my mission is to recognize and speak to the broken hearts of childless not by choice women, and men, around the world. I am spreading the great news that we can live a joyful, relevant, and fulfilled life, although we could not, did not, have the children we so wanted. Thank you to my Patreon Contributors: (Patreon contributors are those who have taken an interest in my platform whether they fit the childless not by choice demographic or not. They have decided to contribute a certain dollar amount on a regular basis to help fund my dream of creating awareness and conversation for the childless not by choice community globally. Thank you Ateqers, hope I am pronouncing your name/handle correctly, for your comment and for your five-star review. It is greatly appreciated! Many of you listen to this podcast on different platforms. Google Play Radio, Stitcher Radio, Apple Podcast, my website, just to name a few. But I am happy to announce that you may now listen on Spotify! How exciting right? Well, I am so excited about today’s episode. I LOVE Christmas and to be able to post the final episode of the year on Christmas Day has me as excited as a kid in a candy store, literally! So, let's get started. I wanted to tell you about how the ladies in the Facebook group are doing, in their own words. I think it is fitting as we come to the end of 2017, that we look back at the growth: The growth of the women in the group and the growth of the platform! Here is the first post: Ladies who have found solace in the group: Gaby--In one week, it will be the 4th anniversary of my 3rd miscarriage. Unfortunately, all my miscarriages have been during the holidays (Thanksgiving or Christmas). This time of year is always difficult - I'm sure for us all. I'm trying to focus on charity work for children in need. I also joined a mentor program for young girls who have few to no resources around them. While helping others may not replace having your own children, channeling the mourning and at times regret into something positive is hugely helpful. No specific reason to post other than to share with you all, my sisters on this challenging path. Thank you for being here. I wanted to add that when I asked Gaby how she felt now at the end of the year compared to January, she said the following: “By the way, I feel about the same since January. Strong and grateful, with a side order of some fear and sadness. They are all collocated. Coming to the group has almost immediately taken away my feelings of being alone.” I wanted to add that because I believed that would resonate with a lot of you. Joanna (upon welcoming a new member to the group) ‘Hi ----, I joined at the weekend for the same reason. So grateful for the group and glad you found us too. I feel better for the support in just a few days. Just knowing that people understand.’ I also wanted to add a word of encouragement given to Joanna by a good friend of hers who has children: Debbie—‘Tomorrow my niece gets married. In all honesty, besides excitement for her, my husband and I are sad by what we will never experience. I made a decision about 6 months ago that if I start to feel discouraged over something to reach out and be an encouragement to someone. So, yesterday I wrote a message to my sister-in-law and brother-in-law because I knew that even though this is an exciting time there has to be some emotion of "giving their daughter away." She responded that the message was needed and timely. I know we all have an ache that most do not understand. I am learning to put myself in other’s shoes, reach out and be an encouragement and what do I find? It helps me to not fall into the 'pit of despair." The journey of life is hard enough. What do you do when you start to see yourself fall into discouragement over being childless not by choice?’ Aren’t those wonderful testimonials to the growth that can happen when we choose to push through our pain? These ladies are just awesome for choosing to share their growth and their pain, knowing that in doing so, you can be helped. If you are childless not by choice and you would like to join a group that cries, encourages, commiserates, and grows through pain; Childless not by Choice with Civilla Morgan is the place to be. There is also the Childless not by Choice Supporters with Civilla Morgan Facebook group. So, come on in and join the conversation. There is a place for everyone! Well, what a year this has been! I have witnessed the growth of the platform, engagement from the women in the group, wonderful words of thanks and encouragement for how this platform has helped them push through to a better place. I have a second Patreon contributor now. My heart is forever touched by the thoughtful gifts of beautiful 2018 calendars and chocolate covered Macadamia nuts from Janice. And the financial contribution for microphones from Susan! How cool was that?! Thank you, Janice and Susan! I am loving this sense of community that has been created. And I know it will only continue into 2018 and the years ahead. We are getting the word out that there is an entire demographic of women, and men, around the world, who exist and in some cases, hide in plain sight! Awareness is being created, and conversations are being had. Hearts are being healed, and relationships are being built or re-built! Those stories of healing and strengthened relationships are gifts to me, just as tangible as the ones I mentioned earlier. I can’t wait to see how 2018 will witness more help and healing! I hope you will join us, and join the conversation! I LOVE Christmas and my favorite Christmas song has always been "Joy to the World!" Christmas is about celebrating the birthday of Jesus. Jesus is Lord, Jesus is King, Jesus is our Savior, Jesus does reign and Jesus is coming again!! Are you ready?
This morning one of the boys at the gym gleefully shared: “It's only 5 weeks till Christmas!” As predicted, his observation was met with groans, cries and general dismay. Personally, I LOVE Christmas. I know I'm lucky to feel that way. For me, above anything else Christmas is a time to catch up with family and friends. I actually like the routine ... Once again we host a show for Christmas at Pine Ridge. Lash (Larry Dunn) organizer of the toy drive and Daniel Burns (of the Omaha band Vago) join myself and my co-host Kendall Jane for an interview and music from the third annual Christmas for Pine Ridge CD. This has been a 7-year toy drive event for some very needy children at the Pine Ridge reservation, and we are honored to help promote it.
