Joined today by Kentucky Sports Radio’s own Drew Franklin. Drew tells me about his recent engagement, setting up the proposal and how he fumbled the most important line. Drew and I talk about New York City, his go-to places to eat, secret bars and of course Jack Demseys. We hear about how Drew got involved with KSR, how Matt Jones discovered him, the evolution of the show from a website to what it is now. Kentucky sports is of course on the forefront and we talk about last year’s magical 10-win football season, why he’s giving this year’s team a pass, and what’s next for the Wildcat football team. Drew helps break down the 2019-20 Kentucky Basketball Team. We hear his thoughts on Hagans, Nate Sestina, Whitney, Maxey, Nick Richard and more. We talk about the insanity that is Big Blue Nation, how Kentucky needs to hang a banner and what his expectations are for this season. From drunk dialing Marilyn Manson, to his John Robic clipboard acquisition and of course a Jared Lorenzen story. Drew Franklin shows why he’s one of the most entertaining radio hosts in the country. Horrible audio and all, I am reposting one of my first podcasts ever. This one is from 2013, with Kentucky Legend and Super Bowl Winner Jared Lorenzen (JLO). Jared and I talk about his recruiting process, if attending Kentucky was a foregone conclusion and what other schools had a show. We hear about when he realized that he had to give up his basketball dream and pursue football as a career. JLO tells us about the difficulties of being a football star at a basketball school. How he becoming a father to his baby girl during his junior year put him on the right path. We jump to the NFL draft and how he got the call that the Giants wanted to sign him as a free agent. The lefty tells us about being Eli Manning’s backup, that historical Super Bowl run and how he would heckle Steelers fans in the Hoboken bars. We go through his nicknames and why he wanted to meet the “Real” J-Lo because he had an icebreaker. From the premature Gatorade celebration against LSU and that memorable 7 overtime loss to Arkansas to the Manti Te’o controversy. Hope you guys enjoy this early Mike Safo podcast episode.

Memories of Jared Lorenzen, SEC Media Days madness and much more.
Greetings, sports fans! We're back again with the only South Carolina Gamecocks podcast in existence. In this week's episode, the gang's all here as Sam, Alex, and DC3 dive into the goofy spectacle that is SEC Media Days. From who's going to be the most entertaining, to the most Saban-like, we've got talkin' season covered like Waffle House hashbrowns. Speaking of talkin' season, we also discuss what we've been doing to pass the time during the offseason. There's also #TAEKS on recruiting (and decommitting), the upcoming season, and our signature GABACast divergent nonsense talk (which is what you really came here for, be honest). Aside from that, we do give a shoutout to two folks we've lost recently, Jared Lorenzen and Tyler Skaggs. RIP, both of y'all. We laugh, we forget what we're doing, we even get into our feelings a little bit. We hope y'all enjoy the show. cLiCk HeRe To FiNd Us On ItUnEs (REVIEW US POR FAVOR) or just mash the play button below. DSGCTYW

Robbie Gould gets some of that 49er gold in a new deal. Pats' coaching staff picked over once again. Breeland Speaks could be a breakout player in Chiefs' new 4-3 defense. Something tells me Belichek and the Pats will be fine. Broncos owner Pat Bowlen passes away and HOF class that includes Tony Gonzalez, Ed Reed, Champ Bailey, Ty Law, and Kevin Mawae. Jared Lorenzen passes away and Albert Haynesworth needs a kidney. NFL once again floats idea of an 18 game season to start the CBA negotiations. How's that gonna work?
