On Thursday's episode, we made our predictions for Michigan's impending sanctions coming out of the Conor Stallions saga. On Friday, the verdict came in. Ross Dellenger may now also be called Nostradamus because he was spot on with his predictions. Over $30-million in fines and a three-game suspension for head coach Sherrone Moore were the main highlights from the ruling. Andy Staples and Steven Godfrey join Ross in recapping the reaction to the ruling and discussing where Michigan goes from here.Expanding the College Football Playoff has been a talking point since the format's inception. It has grown from four to twelve teams, but that does not seem to be enough to some in college football. While sixteen seems to be a natural progression, a much larger number was suggested recently. Big Ten commissioner Tony Petitti threw out the idea of a 28-team playoff and sent the college football world into an uproar. Was this suggestion just a ruse for a more preferable plan? Why was this the only playoff idea that was reported on? How realistic is a 28-team playoff? The guys answer all of these questions and more as they look toward the future of the College Football Playoff.Later in the show, they discuss Virginia Tech's athletic director, Whit Babcock, and his presentation to the university's Board explaining where college football is headed and his pressing need for more funding. What might a super league look like in the college football landscape and how close are we to its arrival? Is the constant desire for change and money ruining the sport for the fans? Andy, Ross and Steven explain the crossroads college football is at after Babcock's comments. Finally, there was a recent change in the FPI over the weekend. A change that came without any games being played and not much notable news that affects the product on the field. Some SEC teams were bumped up and some ACC teams were knocked down. This appears to be all the motivation needed for SMU head coach Rhett Lashlee to call the system out for being “rigged.” The guys discuss coach Lashlee's comments and give their own thoughts on the importance of the FPI.Plus, the guys end the show with some breaking news about Auburn and the four new national football titles they picked up somewhat arbitrarily on Tuesday morning! (0:57) - Reaction to Michigan's sanctions(10:17) - Will a 28-team playoff actually happen?(28:38) - Whit Babcock's plea for money and concern over a potential super league(53:12) - Rhett Lashlee bashes recent FPI change(1:04:48) - Auburn claims new national titles Subscribe to the College Football Enquirer on your favorite podcast app:

There's Hollywood Smothers but can you expect him to tote the rock 40 times a game without losing him to injury? What about incoming Duke Scott who is described as explosive. This week on the main Zak recap Ffion Davies vs Adele Fornarino on FPI 11. In the news section of the show we talk about why we decided to push the recap of the IBJJF 2025 world championships into next week. Giving us more time to recap the fight pass invitational. In the recap section we discussed Ffion Davies defeating Adele Fornarino by split decision. We discussed some of the dynamics of the match across all three rounds and addressed some of our frustrations with the closed scoring used under the unified rules. We discussed potentially how difficult it would be for Adele to win in this rule at given her preference for playing from the bottom essentially in our eyes, making it a requirement to submit to win given her style. We talked about a potential rematch happening as the women's super fight at the 2026 ADCC world championships and how much we would love to see the rematch take place under those rules. In Ana Carolina Vieira win over Raquel Canuto by unanimous decision we discussed some of the takedowns and guillotine attempts that were able to win in Carolina the match. We broke down William Tackett submission over Achilles Rocha using an unorthodox takedown sequence into a rear naked choke finish. In Mason Fowler vs Christiano Troisi we talked about the submission a near Iminari choke from the omaplata after a quick rubber guard transition from Fowler. We also briefly discussed that Mason may be the best rubber guard player in the sport right now. We discussed the draw that took place between Francisco Lo and Enrico Beltran. We broke down the attacking sequences in Alex Enriquez vs Shye Lilly that saw Alex take the match with a great armbar transition in round 2. We discussed Keven Carrasco Teepee Choke submission win in round 1 over Sebastian Oyervidez Plus discussed João Assonitis counter heel hook win over Daniel Maira after countering a toe hold attempt. In the outro, we discussed recapping the world championships next week.Recorded 6-1-2025
