In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham and Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") return on what has become the "traditional" National Signing Day, the first Wednesday in February. The Trojans have already secured the No. 1 ranked high school recruiting class for 2026 and aren't expected to add any new names today, but the guys will discuss 247Sports' updated rankings that jumped several of the new USC football faces up the board. They also breakdown what they learned from this week's media roundtable with head coach Lincoln Riley and general manager Chad Bowden. Both Riley and Bowden sat down with reporters discussing the Trojans roster, giving insight into the different position groups, depth at critical spots and how some of the new additions can contribute early. Drawing on the wisdom of coaching legend Bobby Bowden, Brian Smith breaks down what FSU must do to regain competitiveness, including roster decisions, NIL implications, and the looming debate over leaving the ACC. Key topics include fan frustration, potential staff changes, and what Bowden's philosophy might mean for Florida State football's future.Everydayer ClubIf you never miss an episode, it's time to make it official. GLP-1 weight loss drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy are being called a miracle for obesity—but what's really happening inside the body?In this episode of The Whole Body Detox Show, host David DeHaas of Living Waters Wellness Center sits down with renowned nutrition expert Jonny Bowden, PhD, known as The Nutrition Myth Buster, to unpack the science, the benefits, and the hidden risks behind GLP-1 medications.Together, they break down what GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) really is, why these drugs shut down cravings so effectively, and how they've become so powerful that they've altered the economy of Denmark. More importantly, they reveal the physiological consequences most people aren't warned about—especially the reality that up to 40% of the weight lost on GLP-1 drugs may be muscle, not fat. This conversation explores how GLP-1 drugs impact insulin resistance, metabolism, liver health, nutrient depletion, brain fog, and long-term weight regain, and why losing weight without healing the gut, detoxifying the body, and restoring metabolic balance can leave people weaker, inflamed, and frustrated—even at a lower number on the scale. You'll also hear why hunger suppression creates a “low-calorie trap,” how protein and essential nutrients become critical, and what must be done to protect muscle, energy, and long-term health for those currently using—or considering—GLP-1 medications. This episode does not demonize GLP-1 drugs, but it does expose the Trojan horse effects behind rapid weight loss and explains why real food, gut health, toxin removal, stress management, and whole-body healing are essential for sustainable results.and watch The Four Natural Laws of Healing, or explore the 10-Day Healing Retreat at Living Waters Wellness Center. To learn more about Jonny Bowden, PhD, his research, books, and clinical insights, visit his official website:https://www.jonnybowden.com/If you or someone you love is considering—or already using—GLP-1 weight loss drugs, this episode is essential listening.Learn more about natural, sustainable healing and long-term metabolic restoration by visitingSupport the show Ready for your healing journey?Visit our website: www.LivingWatersCleanse.com Or give us a call at: (208) 378-9911Stem Cell Activation Patches:www.StemCellPatch.netGet your Supplements and Natural Body Products Here:www.livingwaterscleanse.com/supplementsQI-Shield EMF Devices:Protect your whole home or office with a touric shield from EMF's. 1. In this conversation, Laura welcomes Dr. Lakila Bowden to explore the transformative practice of self-celebration and the role it plays in helping Black women reclaim agency, joy, and permission to lead from a place of fullness. Drawing from key concepts in her book, The Sho'Nuff Principle, Lakila lays out a liberatory framework for centering ourselves without guilt, raising our expectations, and giving ourselves the recognition we often withhold. Laura and Lakila unpack the guilt, shame, and cultural conditioning that often arise when Black women center themselves, and what it looks like to begin shifting that mindset with compassion. Additionally, Lakila explains why self-celebration is not "extra," but essential. She explores the emotional and psychological roots of celebration, encouraging Black women to "brag more," and teaching how celebration functions as a mirror, an amplifier, and a motivator. Whether you've avoided attention, minimized your accomplishments, or struggled with self-recognition, Lakila offers accessible starting points to begin turning up your self- celebration. About Dr. Lakila Dr. Lakila Bowden is the charismatic voice high-achieving women didn't know they were missing. In this episode of Stories Worth Hearing, host John Quick sits down with Dr. Mary Talley Bowden for an open and personal conversation about her journey into medicine and the experiences that shaped her views as a physician. Dr. Bowden reflects on when she first decided to pursue a medical career and how years of working directly with patients influenced her approach to care. The conversation explores what she witnessed during the COVID years that raised serious concerns for her as a doctor, and how those experiences led her to speak more openly about patient choice, informed consent, and trust in the healthcare system. Dr. Bowden also discusses why she founded Americans for Health Freedom, what the organization stands for, and why empowering patients to ask questions and take an active role in their health matters now more than ever. She also shares why she decided to write her book, Dangerous Misinformation: The Virus, the Treatments, and the Lies, and what she hopes readers take away from it. The episode includes reflections on her recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience and what it was like stepping onto one of the largest media platforms in the world. This is a thoughtful, human focused conversation about medicine, responsibility, and the real stories behind the headlines.Learn more and explore Dr. Bowden's work:Americans for Health Freedom: https://www.americansforhealthfreedom.org/BreatheMD: https://breathemd.org/Dangerous Misinformation: The Virus, the Treatments, and the Lies: https://amzn.to/48GbiTQ
Dr. Mary Talley Bowden, a well-regarded ENT specialist, became one of the most polarizing figures in American medicine after refusing to fall in line during COVID. When her off-label use of ivermectin went public, the backlash was immediate: her hospital suspended her, the medical board came after her, and she was thrust into a national firestorm. In this episode, she lays out the blueprint she says was used to punish dissenting physicians—how hospital systems, public-health agencies, and industry interests closed ranks to enforce a single narrative. She breaks down the conflicts of interest baked into the modern “medical-industrial complex,” and why she decided to fight rather than fold. From vaccine-injury cases to mandate battles to the unprecedented wave of medical censorship, Dr. Bowden pulls no punches. She takes aim at the NIH, FDA, major hospital systems, and the Biden administration—exposing what she sees as a system more interested in profit, control, and compliance than patient care.

She takes aim at the NIH, FDA, major hospital systems, and the Biden administration—exposing what she sees as a system more interested in profit, control, and compliance than patient care.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

BT and Sal dive deep into a fiery debate over the Yankees' third base decision for 2026: pursue the superior, clutch, but aging Alex Bregman or settle for the defense-first Ryan McMahon, warning against a DJ LeMahieu-like decline. On the Mets side, the discussion ignites over a trade proposal for Cy Young-level pitcher Tarik Skubal, requiring four top prospects (Tong, Sproat, Jett Williams, Mauricio). Sal views losing the prospects without a guaranteed extension as "irresponsible," while BT and Hof argue a generational talent like Skubal is worth the risk. Finally, the hosts battle over their Week 12 NFL Power Rankings, with BT controversially crowning his Denver Broncos as the AFC's best team, even predicting a Broncos vs. 49ers Super Bowl, while Sal struggles to trust the inconsistency of the Eagles and Bills.

Persuasion expert Michelle Bowden, whose episode 83 on the Fitness Business Podcast ranks in the all-time top 20, is back to break down the science of influence and how to connect with every prospect and member. If you want to boost sales, retention, and team member engagement without resorting to manipulative tactics or "buyer's remorse," this episode is a must-listen. Michelle explains the difference between influence and authentic persuasion, introduces her four persuasion types, and gives practical, 1% tips you can implement today to become a stronger communicator and get more of what you want in life. Key highlights from the episode: - Persuasion vs. Influence and the Four Types: Michelle advocates for persuasion as the assertive approach to achieve lasting change, contrasting it with coercive influence which often leads to "buyer's remorse". Her system identifies four persuasion types—Wise Owl, Commanding Eagle, Friendly Brolga, and Captivating Peacock—to help tailor communication to the specific stakeholder. - Managing Objections with P.O.O.: Use the five-step "Pacing Out Objections" (POO) technique to handle common sales resistance. A crucial step is to stop using "but" and "however," which trigger a fight/flight response, and instead use joining words like "and" or "so" to bridge your argument. - The Power of Commitment and Position: To sell professionally without being pushy, leverage the Law of Commitment and Consistency by having the customer articulate and commit to their own goals, such as by completing their own goals form. For better listening, adopt Second or Third Position (focusing on their needs or an elevated view) rather than the self-indulgent First Position. It's part 2 of our dive into the Insect Apocalypse, with our good friend Dr. Jason Dombroskie from the Cornell University Insect Collection! In this part, Jason fills us in on the drivers of the Insect Apocalypse and - most importantly - what we can do about it.This episode was recorded on August 21, 2025 at Rattlesnake Hill Wildlife Management Area in Dalton, NY.. Episode NotesDuring the episode, we made the claim that 40 million acres of the US is lawn, and that that area is equal to all of the country's National Parks put together. True? Well, sort of. The claim that the U.S. has about 40 million acres of lawn—roughly equal to all our national parks combined—is only partly true. A NASA-funded study led by Cristina Milesi estimated that turfgrass covers about 128,000 km² (≈31 million acres) of the continental U.S., making it the largest irrigated “crop” in the country (Milesi et al., Environmental Management, 2005; NASA Earth Observatory). Later analyses and popular summaries often round that up to ≈40 million acres (e.g., Scienceline, 2011; LawnStarter, 2023). By comparison, the total land area of all officially designated U.S. National Parks is about 52.4 million acres, while the entire National Park System—which also includes monuments, preserves, and historic sites—covers about 85 million acres (National Park Service, 2024). So while lawns and parks occupy areas of similar magnitude, lawns do not actually equal or exceed the combined area of the national parks. Is it better to mulch leaves on your lawn or leave them be? Here's what we found: It's generally best to mulch your leaves with a mower rather than rake or remove them. Research from Michigan State University found that mowing leaves into small pieces allows them to decompose quickly, returning nutrients to the soil and reducing weeds like dandelions and crabgrass (MSU Extension, “Don't rake leaves — mulch them into your lawn”, 2012). Cornell University studies similarly show that mulched leaves improve soil structure, moisture retention, and microbial activity (Cornell Cooperative Extension, “Leaf Mulching: A Sustainable Alternative”, 2019). However, in garden beds, wooded edges, or under shrubs, it's often better to leave leaves whole, since they provide winter habitat for butterflies, bees, and other invertebrates that overwinter in leaf litter (National Wildlife Federation, “Leave the Leaves for Wildlife”, 2020). The ideal approach is a mix: mow-mulch leaves on grassy areas for turf health and leave them intact where they naturally fall to support biodiversity and soil ecology.
