We are excited to welcome Mara Smith, a former attorney, corporate strategist and stay-at-home mom who is the founder of Inspiro Tequila.  Mara began her legal career at a large law firm in Chicago before joining the corporate strategy team at a Fortune 100 Company.  After her twins were born prematurely, Mara decided to leave the corporate world to focus on her family. She never stopped thinking about what was next.  Mara always envisioned running her own company and in February of 2020 she set out on her journey to create a new tequila brand. Mara started drinking tequila when she was looking for a clean, gluten-free spirit that fit into her active lifestyle. She searched for a tequila brand that was additive-free with a look, taste and aroma that appealed to her as the consumer. That perfect tequila did not exist, so she decided to create one. In her more than 32 years of experience, she's helped countless students live more inspired, stress-free lives. Beyond teaching, she brings mindfulness, breath work and yoga practices to senior care centers, public schools, and underserved populations. She is the creator of the award-winning health and wellness app for kids, Super Stretch Yoga, and has been recognized in numerous national and international publications, including The Essential Guide to Yoga and Yoga Journal. Body and Soul, we take responsibility for the energy we bring into a space. ~ Part 1 ~ Chakras are an inward map that helps us understand ourselves better and can direct us toward wholeness, greater awareness and living more fully. The seven principle master chakras, or energy wheels, used in Hatha yoga and many Tantric schools each have a purpose along the lifeline of the spine. Each one could be characterized as having its own personality and purpose. According to the current general Western perspective, the chakras each govern their own functional aspects of the physical body, emotional state and mental process. They are manifestation of consciousness in various planes of activity and offer understanding to the energetics and dynamics of human being. When energy becomes stuck within a chakra, it can manifest as mental, physical and emotional imbalances from physical symptoms within the nerves and body to emotional outbursts and feelings. The focus of chakra therapy then becomes an effort to balance and align the expression of all of the chakras with one another, so that none are either overactive or underactive.
