Gibbons, The Elton John Band, Steve Lukather, Bill Champlin, Tower of Power, and many more. The Stylistics announce their first new album in almost two decades titled "FALLING IN LOVE WITH MY GIRL," which will be released worldwide on February 21, 2025. The soul legends known for their iconic hits, "Stop, Look, Listen (To Your Heart)," "You Are Everything," "You Make Me Feel Brand New," and more, earning them 5 Gold singles and 3 Gold albums, will bring audiences their first new single from the 21-track album "Yes, I Will," featuring Shania Twain, on February 14. "FALLING IN LOVE WITH MY GIRL," produced by Tom Cridland and Executive Produced by Deborah Cridland, will feature a who's who of legendary and noted artists who collaborated on the album alongside Twain: Ronnie Wood of The Rolling Stones, Gene Simmons of KISS, The Elton John Band (including Nigel Olsson and Davey Johnstone), Bill Champlin of Chicago, Billy F. Gibbons of ZZ Top, Steve Lukather of Toto, Tower of Power, Ray Parker, Jr., Jay Graydon, Justin Hawkins of The Darkness, The Real Thing, Nathan East and Carly Paoli. For "Yes, I Will," Twain had been invited to sing on one of the tracks already written, but she had in mind the perfect song for the album that she had co-written with Nathan East, (to which Tom Cridland contributed), that was a soulful fit for The Stylistics. Ray Parker Jr., Steve Lukather and East performed on the track that was the last song recorded for the collection, and is the first new track in 17 years to be released by the legendary group. Says Twain, "I'm so happy that this song I wrote 'Yes, I Will' has found a home on The Stylistics album. That is just so exciting. It's a special song that came together on one special day at my home where I was hanging out with some friends and musicians. So I think it turned out great and I'm just really excited to share it with the whole world." Airrion Love from The Stylistics adds, "I fell in love with Shania Twain the first time I heard 'You're Still the One' - a great song that I still love. When we heard there might be a chance to do something with her we said, "Hell yeah!"" The Stylistics' original members Airrion Love and Herb Murrell, together with Jason Sharp who joined the group in 2011, recorded their vocals at Spice House Sound in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and at Wright Way Studios in Baltimore, Maryland. Tom Cridland arranged and recorded the background vocals in the Scottish Highlands and at Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. The Elton John Band including Nigel Olsson and Davey Johnstone laid down the instrumental tracks at the Record Plant in Hollywood, California. "FALLING IN LOVE WITH MY GIRL" was the last album ever made at the legendary recording studio. Most of the songs were written by Tom Cridland together with Anthony King of Blackpool and Anthony's wife, Fiona Shaw. Two tracks were written by Airrion Love, "Sad Tomorrows" and "I Get A Feeling." When it comes to making decisions, we often find ourselves stuck between listening to our heart or our mind. It's like your heart is pushing you in one direction, while your mind is tugging you the other way. But which one should you listen to? Your mind is all about logic and reason. It analyzes, it processes, and it tries to protect you. It picks up on patterns—things you've learned, mistakes you've made, situations you've observed. So when you make decisions based on your mind, you're probably looking at all the angles, considering what could go wrong, and aiming to minimize risk. It's cautious. It's safe. Your heart, on the other hand, doesn't care about all of that. It just wants what it wants. It's passionate, impulsive, driven by emotion and desire. Following your heart can feel exhilarating. It's the thing that makes you feel alive, the voice that whispers “go for it” when everything else says “stop.” It's the thing that makes you take chances, jump into the unknown, and sometimes even leap without looking. But here's the thing: what if following your heart leads to pain? What if it pushes you into a situation where you end up hurt, disappointed, or stuck? It happens. Heart decisions can sometimes be risky, and not always in the “great adventure” kind of way. Still, when it does work out—when following your heart leads to something amazing—it feels incredible. There's this rush, this sense of freedom and fulfillment that's hard to match. The heart makes you feel connected to your true self, and sometimes, it's exactly what you need to break free from doubt and find something beautiful. So, is it better to follow your heart or your mind? That's the million-dollar question. Sometimes, your mind can be too cautious and hold you back from things that could be life-changing. Other times, following your heart without thinking things through can lead to regret. Maybe the answer isn't about always choosing one over the other. It's about knowing when to let your heart lead and when to let your mind take the wheel. The trick is finding balance. You need your mind to keep you grounded and safe, but your heart is what gives you the courage to leap. If you can tune into both, maybe that's where the magic happens.

Regular exercise is one of the most effective methods to keep the heart healthy and efficient. In rare cases, however, there are reports of athletes collapsing mid-game due to cardiac arrest. And while exercise is generally also a key part of the rehabilitation process for those who've experienced cardiac events, caution should still be taken. This is where physician input is important, and where testing and regular monitoring can be implemented to reduce the risk of further events. Today, we're joined by experts in the fields of sports cardiology and exercise physiology, as well as an athlete with firsthand experience in the matter, to draw attention to the topic of cardiac health and how it pertains to sports medicine. In this episode, host Myra Cocker, Assistant Professor of Cardiology at Houston Methodist Hospital and Global Director of Clinical Science for Cardiovascular Ultrasound at Siemens Healthineers, welcomes Dr. Jonathan Kim, Associate Professor and Founding Director at Emory University Sports Cardiology and Team Cardiologist for Georgia Tech, the Atlanta Falcons, Hawks, and Braves; as well as Dr. Dominique Hansen, Professor of Rehabilitation and Exercise Physiology in Cardiometabolic Diseases at Universiteit Hasselt in Belgium and Secretary of the European Association of Preventive Cardiology; and retired professional soccer player and cardiology patient Daniel Engelbrecht. What you'll learn in this episode:How cardiac risk can affect older and younger elite athletes differentlyCardiac events can stem from myocarditis, caused by an infectious disease.Red flag symptoms when it comes to cardiac events while exercising, including intense chest pressure or loss of consciousnessThe use of Automated External Defibrillators is a critical first response strategy in the event of cardiac arrest.Implementation of an exercise program can be essential when treating a patient who has experienced, or is at risk for, cardiovascular disease. For patients who have suffered from major cardiac events, their timeline for return to sports or intense physical activity is heavily dependent on a number of individual factors.Connect with Myra CockerLinkedInConnect with Jonathan KimLinkedInConnect with Dominique HansenLinkedInConnect with Daniel EngelbrechtLinkedIn Hosted on Acast. In the 4th episode of the series on our energy centers, Kate talks about the heart as it spaces and translates between the will and the word. Often we hear: listen to your heart, but have we been taught how to hear the voice, clear confusion and balance the valid opinions that live inside? In this episode, Kate talks about the heart center and its very deliberate placement in the path of understanding, or attempting to hear our own true desires. Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death for women in the US and is responsible for one of out every three deaths each year. However, only 44% of women recognize that cardiovascular disease is their greatest health threat. Heart disease and stroke can affect women of any age, so it is important for women to understand their risk factors and family history. Life events like pregnancy and menopause can also impact heart health. Stress can also play a role which is why it is important to understand the mind-body connection to improve physical health and mental well-being.
“Listen to your heart.” That's great advice if its coming from a cardiologist, but it's actually terrible advice when it comes to our spiritual life. The familiar maxim, “Listen to your heart,” means to look inside yourself for comfort and truth. As nice as that sound, that's the last place to look if you want to find either.
In this replay of Human Capital's episode, Jeff explores the topic of uncertainty with guests Susannah and Nathan Furr, authors of "The Upside of Uncertainty." Nathan is a professor of strategy at NSEAD University in Paris, and Susannah formerly owned an apparel company. Together they explore the difference between risk and uncertainty, how creativity and uncertainty are interwoven, and how reframing, preparing, doing, and sustaining can lead us to the upside of uncertainty. Susannah and Nathan share with Jeff about what uncertainty balancers are, and how to better navigate the emotions that come with uncertainty to produce positive outcomes.

"Love and fear are the driving forces in life. When we lean towards love, listen to our hearts, and take courageous leaps, we contribute to a better reality for everyone. It's about embracing courage and understanding, rather than succumbing to fear," says Paige Easter, Co-host of the Shift to Freedom podcast. This week, Ben and Paige are digging into their impressions of the beloved Disney classic, Pocahontas! While Ben experiences the movie for the first time, Paige fondly recalls it as a cherished part of her childhood. The hosts explore the film's themes of love and fear, and the thought-provoking interplay of toxic masculinity versus healthy masculinity portrayed through the movie's supporting characters. While Pocahontas may not boast metaphors like other Disney classics, the hosts celebrate the lessons and insights that Pocahontas imparts about having the courage to follow your heart in the face of adversity, taking the time to truly listen to those you disagree with in order to resolve differences, and generally following your heart's call.Key Takeaways:Love and understanding possess the power to conquer fear and turmoilAttentive listening bridges gaps and nurtures connectionsChoosing the path less traveled, coupled with an adventurous spirit, can lead to genuine personal fulfillmentQuotes"I think it is a risky path to ride the river that is less known and that is choppier, and that is less smooth. But ultimately, the willingness to embrace courage, and listen and understand things in your world will serve you in the long run and will amount to much more safety than just following the traditional path where you actually still don't know what is around the bend." (25:42 | Ben Easter)"For me, it was all about love and fear and that when you are leaning towards and allowing yourself to want things and listen to your heart that you take courageous leaps in it contributes to a better reality for everybody who's in it - versus being afraid and fearful and ending up (where) people get hurt." Imagine having no anxiety ever again. Imagine having no sadness, despair, or grief ever again. No anger, hatred or even irritability. Is it possible to be liberated from suffering? It doesn't mean we don't get sick and die or that we never break a bone or have a headache or pain. But it is possible that the human body could be in physical pain while the mind is fresh, calm, bright, and aware. In today's episode of Sex, Love, and Elephants, you're invited to hear my recent Dharma Talk given at a meditation retreat that I taught. Our minds can often default to crazy monkey brain, but underneath that is a type of compassion and kindness and wisdom that can help us be better human beings and better partners.Tune in and learn all about the monkey and the elephant—and our egos, hearts, and minds. When we raise our inner voices of self-loathing, criticism, and doubt, the noise can grow into chaos. We need a consistent inner voice – the quiet internal rhythm that literally pumps life through our bodies. In today's meditation, we center our attention on the heartbeat.
