What a way to kick off State of Origin 2026! NSW Blues stole it from Queensland Maroons after a spectacular showing to claw themselves back from 20 points down. Nathan Cleary and James Tedesco showed their class when it mattered most but is the criticism they cop in the Origin arena fair? What changes could expect from Game 2? Donald Trump just got hit by crushing new inflation data: Consumer prices rose at their fastest rate in several years. Importantly, Trump's war with Iran is a big driver of it, and he can't find a way out. Meanwhile, a new CNN poll shows his standing on the economy sliding to its lowest point in either term. No wonder Trump erupted angrily at a reporter who quizzed him over prices, deriding her as “stupid.” He also seethed at a journalist who asked about his ballroom, calling her “dumb.” Yet despite all this, there are signs that GOP hopes are rebounding due to gerrymandering and other factors. So we talked to Democratic strategist Simon Rosenberg, who's been arguing that the economic fundamentals won't change in time for the GOP. We discuss the mixed signals in the polling data, why Trump has long been so strong on the economy, why that's finally changing, and what Democrats can do to overcome their lingering brand problems. Danny Weidler, Adam Pengilly and Charlie White are all in for a massive episode of The Journos. But what a bombshell to start the show! Penrith Panthers multiple premiership winning coach Ivan Cleary has announced that he will be leaving the club at the end of 2027. But a large group of title winning stars will also be off-contract at the same time, so what's the future going to look like in Penrith? Luke Metcalf has also been the talk of the town as he looks for an escape from Auckland as big Sydney heavyweights look to bring him over to spark their clubs into action. Perth Bears cannot escape the spotlight for the wrong reasons though a big signing coup could shake things up but the noise won't quiet down. NSW Blues and Queensland Maroons get ready for Origin camps but both teams are under injury clouds. Laurie Daley is facing a selection headache in the outside backs but his counterpart Billy Slater has a big hole at halfback to fill. Antoinette Lattouf not only fought and won a battle against the ABC - who unfairly dismissed her for sharing posts about the genocide in Gaza - but while she was doing that, she wrote a book about women who have fought and won across Australian history. Its called Women Who Win, and it was launched last week.In this chat we unpack what she found about what it takes to win - reflecting on her journey and that of other women. We explore the kinds of qualities and insight the help us make change. One of the great joys of this chat, and of Antoinette's book, is the vulnerability and honesty that she brings to thinking about change making. She calls on us to be bold, but never pretends that its easy. Instead, she shares some of the ways she held herself steady as she fought for the right to speak, and for a media landscape that respects difference and different ideas. To find out more and get a copy of Antonette's magnificent book "Women Who Win" - visit the Penguin Random House website (or all good bookshops) - https://www.penguin.com.au/books/women-who-win-9781761355370.You can also listen to Antoinette's podcast with Jan Fran "We used to be Journos" on ACAST here: https://feeds.acast.com/public/shows/we-used-to-be-journos.You can find out more about Antonette via her website: https://antoinettelattouf.com/For more on ChangeMakers check us out:Via our Website - https://changemakerspodcast.org (where you can also sign up to our email list!)Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ChangeMakersPodcast/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/changemakerspodcast/Threads: https://www.threads.com/@changemakerspodcastBlue Sky: https://www.threads.com/@amandatattersall.bsky.socialFor more on the books and Amanda's writing, have a look at:Amanda's website - https://amandatattersall.com/ Conscious Tribes: thinking differently about making a difference - here and via Hardie GrantPeople Power in Cities - here and via Oxford Uni PressOn Substack - https://substack.com/@amandatattersallOn Medium - https://amandatatts.medium.com/And - her much earlier book about coalition building - Power in Coalition and via Cornell Uni PressAmanda is on Socials here:On LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/amandatattersall/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/amanda.tattersallBlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/amandatattersall.bsky.socialThreads: https://www.threads.com/@amandatattersallTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@amanda.tattersall Hosted on Acast. What a big few days in the rugby league world! Danny Weidler welcomes back Adam Pengilly on The Journos for another massive show. Jarome Luai is the inaugural PNG Chief and with a player of that calibre and a character his peers gravitate towards, who will be next? There could be a big domino effect happening! The tax-free salaries are the major draw card but how do the third party deals work for the Chiefs? Everything is explained and the figures are more than juicy! Are the Bulldogs in crisis? Joey Johns says Mitch Woods needs to make his debut and start at halfback when back from injury but that creates an even bigger roster headache for a club that seemingly already has one. Could Matt Burton be the one that goes? And could he play a major part in another mammoth NSW-based rebuild after contributing heavily in the Bulldogs turnaround? Danny spoke to Gus Gould during the week and got the mastermind's thoughts on social media abuse as the game learns to deal with an ever-changing media landscape. The boys give their unique thoughts on Wayne Bennett's press conferences but also open up on his relationship with the media... but back to Luai... wasn't Alex Johnston named the first signing for PNG? The boys explain what exactly went wrong. Check out Triple M NRL's Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

One of the game's biggest superstars Tom "Turbo" Trbojevic joins Danny Weidler and Charlie White for a very special episode of The Journos! Currently injured, Turbo will be an omission for NSW Blues due to his latest setback which he opens up on. Tommy also chats the supposed "falling out" with Daly Cherry-Evans after the Manly legend left the club, Anthony Seibold's sacking early into this season and the introduction of Sea Eagles icon Kieran Foran and Fozball! He also gives his opinion on the current state of St George Illawarra Dragons as he has had a working relationship with both the departed head and assistant coaches Shane Flanagan and Michael Ennis. And he chats his brothers Jake and Ben but it's the former he opens more about after Jakey has drowned out the noise surrounding the future of his career. But back on the usual front, Danny does also get into Flanno's sacking from the Dragons and gives his thoughts on a press conference that's garnered as much attention as the decision to part ways with Flanagan. Danny Weidler, Adam Pengilly and Charlie White are all back for a big episode of Triple M NRL's The Journos! St George Illawarra Dragons cannot avoid the spotlight as potential superstar front-rower Loko Pasifiki Tonga has grown tired of not getting picked by coach Shane Flanagan. Danny spoke to Flanno before the podcast to shed more light on the situation. But Shane's job continues to be thrown into growing doubt as the pressure intensifies week by week. And we also question why a club who is in desperate need for a halfback didn't enter the race for many players who were available? Players who were flourishing last season and have been now, currently. We get the full story on what happened between Gorden Tallis and the Brisbane Broncos spin doctor as the feud between the former legend and the club continues to grow. Matt Burton wants to stay as a Bulldog but even as both camps have started talks, an agreement is far from done. Will there be a salary cap squeeze in Belmore? Will Jahream Bula stay at the Wests Tigers? The club is in fine form but his agent is Isaac Moses and he has a big history with the club's coach Benji Marshall! Tune in for everything above and more! But also if you're able to have a look, here's the fundraiser for Jacek McLaurin who sadly suffered a spinal cord injury from playing footy. Danny Weidler is back but Brent Read has jumped into the opposing chair for another episode of The Journos! There is so much drama at the Dragons as head coach Shane Flanagan's job is on the line. A dramatic roster shuffle is already underway as we've just only gotten through the first month of the season as the winless Saints try to figure out what to do now. Penrith Panthers' salary cap headache is about to start a new chapter as PNG Chiefs starts to look very attractive to some of its high profile stars. This salary cap squeeze might just be the most talented list of players they've ever had come off contract at the same time! Expansion continues to make waves within the rugby league world as Perth Bears struggles continue to intensify, whilst Ipswich Jets are making a lot of noise to get the 20th license. And the boys have a fair bit to say about Manly's management and owner Scott Penn. The Sunday Triple M NRL Catch Up - Paul Kent, Gorden Tallis, Ryan Girdler, Anthony Maroon
Danny Weidler & Adam Pengilly are back for another episode of Triple M NRL's The Journos! Led by Charlie White the boys sink their teeth into more drama in Brisbane! Ben Te'o, assistant coach shockingly exited the club after alleged issues with his superior Michael Maguire. Though, Danny Weidler reveals exactly what went down after his chats with the Broncos and disputes the information that's been revealed so far. The drama in Brisbane though hasn't overshadowed Daly Cherry-Evans return to Brookvale Oval, but there are more storylines ahead of Sydney Roosters trip to Manly Sea Eagles. A premiership contender is fading, a head coach is under the pump, there is drama engulfing both the Eastern and Northern Beaches! And another headache for the Roosters is from their noisy neighbours South Sydney Rabbitohs who can now officially call Sydney Football Stadium home! And the St George Illawarra Dragons are under the pump as they still sit winless to start the season. An interesting theory is floated that may become a reality for the Saints. Stephen McGowan believes Steve Clarke has done more than enough to earn a new deal as Scotland manager. Do you agree? The title race looks as if one team is close to being counted out on the Journos. Is Dermot Desmond fattening Celtic up for a sale? Is Mo Salah in the greatest ever Liverpool team?

A Wired writer is crying that fandom discourse on X feels “extra cringe right now” because she lost her safe space for progressive fan spaces after Elon Musk bought it. The article complains that X has become too reactionary and hostile for fans of shows like Heated Rivalry, pushing people back to Tumblr where they can avoid bad-faith arguments and right-wing pushback. Clownfish TV tears it apart for the massive hypocrisy — X was literally ground zero for the worst cancel culture mob attacks and career-ending witch hunts until Elon took over and let people speak freely. Now the same crowd that loved using it to silence everyone is acting like victims because they can't control the narrative anymore.Watch the podcast episodes on YouTube and all major podcast hosts including Spotify.CLOWNFISH TV is an independent, opinionated news and commentary podcast that covers Entertainment and Tech from a consumer's point of view. Original air date: September 17, 2025 President Trump seems even more angry at the media than usual. His lawyers just filed a lawsuit against The New York Times that First Amendment lawyers are dismissing as a total joke. The suit, however, is also chock full of angry rants that appeared dictated by Trump himself. And he announced it with a Truth Social tirade that boiled with fury. Meanwhile, Trump himself snapped directly at reporters in strange ways, hitting one with a bizarre threat and engaging in a bizarre dominance display over the other. This comes as a new poll from the Economist reveals shockingly low support for Trump among independents, a key metric for gauging political strength—or weakness. We talked to Paul Waldman, who recently argued on his Substack, The Cross Section, that Trump's powers of persuasion are failing him. We discuss how Trump both despises and relies on the media, the real reasons for his mounting anger, and how it's all revealing big cracks in his authoritarian project.
