In this message, Pastor Dale ministers on the power of demonstrative, vocalized, passionate praise. Praise unlocks places in the Spirit and achieves breakthroughs that would otherwise be unattainable. Praise takes our focus off the problem and shifts it over to God, magnifying Him over the circumstances. Our praise is a powerful weapon, but it REQUIRES expression. Silence on the sideline does not win battles. Shout, run, sing! When we yield the fruit of our lips to praise, we can expect a harvest of victory.

When I need inspiration, respiration, a catalyst, or a spark of divinity, I must exit syphilization, stage left, and immerse myself in a comforting bath of wildness. There, the plants, animals, rocks, dirt, and insects conspire in relationship to infuse my soul with a serenity that draws from Earth's vast resources. There is no specific habitat type that anchors me. The biome can be anything from beach to desert, grassland to dense tropical rainforest, and everything in between. The key factor, the space in which I set temporary roots, must feel untrammeled, pristine. I can pretend a worn path is animal-made during their daily searches for food or annual migration patterns. An errant gum wrapper or selfishly discarded cigarette butt are enough to destroy the carefully coiffed illusion I create that I am on a solitary journey seeking connection with interconnectedness.

Have you ever had the words in your mind… but your mouth just wouldn't move? Maybe you're afraid of being judged, afraid of slowing people down, or afraid your “real personality” won't come through in English. If that's you, this episode is for you.In today's lesson, we're going to name the fear that keeps so many English learners quiet—and walk through 7 real-life situations where that fear shows up the strongest. You'll learn the mindset shifts that help you stop shrinking in the moment, and you'll get practical phrases and simple preparation strategies you can use immediately. This isn't about having perfect grammar. It's about taking your voice back—one situation at a time—so you can speak with more confidence in real life. What You'll Learn:Why fear shows up even when you know the wordsThe hidden “spotlight fear” that makes one mistake feel like proofHow to stop interpreting “What?” as “My English is bad”How to answer small talk without overthinkingHow to speak up without needing the “perfect sentence”How to use preparation (without sounding robotic)The confidence-building power of one honest sentenceHow to tell stories even when vocabulary is missingKey Moments / Segment Breakdown:Ordering food without freezing under pressureAnswering “How are you?” honestly (in one simple sentence)Replying in group chats without fear of ruining the vibeAsking the doctor to repeat or clarify with confidenceHandling cashier small talk with one detail (not a full story)Repeating yourself louder when someone says “What?”Telling stories without the perfect word—still landing the feelingMindset Shifts:“I'm holding up the line” → “Taking a moment is normal”“My real answer is too much” → “One honest sentence is enough”“If it's not perfect, don't send it” → “Showing up matters more”“Asking again makes me look slow” → “Clarity is confidence”“‘What?' means I failed” → “‘What?' means repeat it louder”“I need the perfect word” → “I can describe what I mean”Practical Takeaways:Choose one buy-time phrase and practice it: “Give me one second.”Create three one-line honest answers for “How are you?”In one group chat, commit to 3 low-bar replies/day for one week. Before appointments, bring a short question list + one clarifying phrase.Build a mini bank of one-detail small talk answers (weekend, day, plans).Train this rule: Repeat louder + slower, not quieter.Use a rescue phrase: “You know that thing that…” then describe it.Listener Reflection Questions:Where do I freeze the most—in public, at work, or with friends? What am I afraid people will think about me in English? What's one situation where I can practice a new response this week?Do I shrink (get quiet) when I need to repeat myself? What would change if I focused on connection instead of perfection? If you want to sign up for the free English email newsletter, go to https://speakenglishwithtiffani.com/newsletter

I was trying to set up a show inside a beautiful forest. I thought I was being a smart Environmentalist. Put the forest on the air. In the first few minutes of this Earth Riot the forest keeps stopping the show, without explanation. I feel myself being pulled to another part of the forest, who is pulling me. The forest leaves Savitri D and Neil Young alone... they don't get interrupted. When I'm in a new part of the forest I find my equipment works fine so I restart my cheerful welcoming remarks and then the wild kingdom pulls the plug again. Can a whole forest be a trickster? Can an ecosystem mess with a well-meaning human? Can the entire Earth be playing us for a fool?

S8 E3: Graciela Gonçalves Da Silva on Sharing Silences“I learned to share silences, paying attention to things that I did not understand, and there was no chance to ask, but just being there was enough to enjoy it. This was deeper than any words I wished to use. Life was suddenly filled with humble adventures.” Graciela Gonçalves Da SilvaWhen Graciela first shared this reflection with me during our 2023 conversation on Tea, Toast & Trivia, I sensed that she was speaking from a place beyond explanation. Not offering conclusions. Not trying to persuade. Simply describing what happens when we learn to stay present long enough for meaning to emerge on its own.She is an Argentine artist now based in Los Angeles, with murals and public works spanning cities across the world. Her characters, colours, and stories live not only on walls, but in the daily rhythms of the communities that encounter them. Whether in bustling urban centres or quieter neighbourhoods, her work invites pause, recognition, and gentle curiosity. Since that conversation, Graciela's creative life has continued to unfold on a truly international scale.I've recently reconnected with Graciela, and once again I'm struck by how naturally she moves between inner reflection and outward action. Her practice still begins with characters and story, but it is grounded in a deep respect for the shared space of public art and the people who live alongside it.Graciela has just completed a major new mural as part of the Doha Walls Festival in Qatar. Alongside the finished work, she developed a thoughtful public workshop, a kind of “warm-up”, designed to help people cultivate what she calls Explorer's Eyes. Her intention was both generous and quietly radical: to offer viewers tools for seeing more deeply, even if they encounter the mural later online, far from the wall itself. For Graciela, street art has always been collective. Once a mural enters the world, it no longer belongs solely to the artist. It belongs to the people who walk past it, live with it, and carry it forward in memory. This recent project reflects that philosophy beautifully, extending the conversation beyond the wall and into shared reflection. For those discovering her for the first time, this republished podcast episode offers a gentle introduction to her way of thinking, creating, and listening. And for those who have followed her work over the years, it feels like a return, not backward, but deeper.I'm delighted to share that Graciela has promised to come back for a new conversation, where we'll talk about this latest project, her evolving practice, and how creativity can hold wonder, compassion, and fragility all at once.So I invite you to put the kettle on. Settle in. And listen with the part of you that knows how to share silence and recognize a humble adventure when it appears.RebeccaMusic by Epidemic SoundFinding Rain by Emily Rubyehttps://www.epidemicsound.com/music/tracks/2bb07938-482d-34c5-9103-17827c3ae792/

Jack welcomes Phil back to the pod to bask in the glory of a Tottenham win. Well, it wasn't actually a win, but it certainly felt like one. The pair discuss the sheer relief of taking a glorious, precious point away from Anfield, the scene of so many historic horrors for Spurs, after relegation Richarlison popped up at the back post to silence the Kop. We dissect just how vital this point, and more importantly the performance, is in the wider context of this miserable season. The players finally did exactly what we asked of them and showed some genuine fight on the pitch. Huge credit is also handed to Igor Tudor. After navigating a particularly unpleasant post-match interview with flying colours, we ask if the interim boss is finally starting to win the fanbase over. Attention then briefly turns to the Champions League return leg against Atletico Madrid. We debate whether the fixture holds any real importance anymore, and if Antonin Kinsky should be given the chance to avenge his disastrous away leg. Finally, Jack and Phil reflect on the massive part the fans have to play in keeping Tottenham in the top flight, with the crucial domestic clash against Nottingham Forest looming on the horizon. Today we're talking about anxiety, not the casual "I'm stressed" kind, but the kind that takes over your body, your thoughts, your sleep, your peace, and your sense of safety. My friend Maddie Joy Fischer joins me to talk about our very real stories with anxiety, panic, fear, and the lies at the root of it all. We both know what it's like to feel trapped by fear and to wonder if this is just how life will always be. But we also know what it's like for God to meet us there, unravel self-reliance, expose the lies, and begin rebuilding something truer and stronger. In this conversation we talk about: how anxiety can start small and slowly take over health anxiety, panic attacks, and feeling unsafe in your own body the lie that says "I'm not safe" and the truth that answers it fear of man, self-protection, and trying to stay in control what it looks like to come to the end of yourself why healing is often not linear how God uses even the darkest seasons for redemption what surrender actually looks like when you're in it This episode is full of honesty, Scripture, and hope for the person still in the thick of anxiety, and for the person who loves someone who is. If you've ever felt like fear was driving the bus, this conversation is for you. There is freedom in Jesus. There is truth stronger than the lies. And there is hope, even here. For one hour on stage, I only have one problem in my life. What if you could find something that does that for you? Show Notes In this episode of Shark Theory, Baylor answers a question he was asked after a recent keynote: What is it like on your side of the stage? Public speaking is often labeled as the number one fear in the world. But Baylor challenges the idea that fear is universal. Many fears are borrowed. Many limitations come from opinions, polls, or statistics that never actually included you. Instead of asking whether something is scary, ask whether you're looking at it through the right lens. One of the fastest ways to overcome fear is immersion. When Baylor trains for extreme endurance events, he surrounds himself with people who love the grind. The workout doesn't get easier, but the perspective changes. Passion shifts perception. When you're around people who love something, you begin to see it as opportunity instead of threat. On stage, Baylor explains that the real gift isn't applause or ego. It's focus. For that hour, he has one job: make the audience's time worth it. Everything else fades. No distractions. No noise. Just one problem to solve. That clarity is peace. He challenges listeners to find the activity in their own life where everything else disappears. The thing that pulls you into the moment so fully that your world narrows down to one objective. Finally, Baylor reflects on the art of reading the room. Adjusting. Expanding when people lean in. Pulling back when they drift. Creating rhythm. It's not about performing at people. It's about connecting with them. The deeper message: everyone has a story. Everyone has something that could impact someone else. The question isn't whether you're capable. It's whether you're willing to step into it. What You'll Learn in This Episode Why many fears are borrowed from others How immersion shifts perception The power of narrowing your focus to one problem Why passion eliminates distraction How connection creates impact Why your story matters more than you think Featured Quote "When you find the thing that makes everything else fade away, you've found your lane."
What if the greatest battle you're facing right now isn't your circumstances… but what you're believing? From the Garden of Eden until today, the enemy has used the same strategy—casting doubt on God's Word. "Did God really say…?" In this powerful episode, Rob Skinner unpacks the explosive truth of Hebrews 6:18: "It is impossible for God to lie." Not unlikely. Not rare. Impossible. If you've ever wondered whether God will come through… whether His promises are still true… or whether He's forgotten you… This message will anchor your faith and help you fight the real battle—the one happening in your mind.
