Dr. Neil Evans, Acting Program Executive Officer for the Department of Veterans Affairs' Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office, provided an update on the rollout of the common electronic health record (EHR). The VA paused the rollout in 2023 following optimization and reliability issues. Evans outlined plans to restart deployment in April 2026 at select sites in Michigan, with a target of full, enterprise-wide implementation by 2031. He described the VA's wave-based deployment schedule, which leverages user feedback and lessons learned from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the War Department, both of which have deployed the common EHR. Evans discussed the challenges and opportunities the EHR presents for veterans and active military personnel alike.

One person was killed and two others wounded during the attack, with at least one of the wounded being a child. The assailant has been reported to be an Afghan refugee.Analyst Comment: While knife attacks are incredibly common in London, this one was particularly brutal because it was so random and caught on video. The victim was out walking his dog when an Afghan migrant attacked him and stabbed him to death on the street.France: Multiple arson attacks were carried out on the high speed rail lines between Marseille, Nice, and Montpellier. These arson attacks took the form of unknown malign actors setting fire to the signaling equipment (and really anything that looked important) at several points along the tracks. These incidents ended up causing many delays as trains had to be re-routed to other lines to continue service.South America: Overnight, the War Department announced several more airstrikes in the eastern Pacific Ocean. Three kinetic strikes were carried out on a total of four vessels (one strike targeted two boats that were tied together to exchange bundles of drugs at sea). 14x KIA were reported in total as a result of these strikes, along with 1x survivor.-HomeFront-Massachusetts: Yesterday the DoJ announced the indictment of an Indian national who conducted a stabbing attack onboard a Lufthansa flight on Saturday. The DoJ states that Praneeth Kumar Usiripalli was arrested in Boston after the Germany-bound flight was diverted due to his attack. The press release states that one of the victims awoke to find Usiripalli standing over them, before trying to stab the victim to death. In the ensuing fray, at least one other passenger was stabbed. The assailant also attempted to stab several crew members while attempting to be subdued. Both victims are juveniles, and it's not clear as to why Usiripalli attempted to murder them during the flight.Mississippi: This afternoon a vehicle accident involving a research truck filled with biological specimens was reported on I-59 in Jasper County. This accident resulted in the inadvertent release of several Rhesus monkeys that were being used for medical research at Tulane University. Initial reports from the Sheriff's Department stated that these monkeys are infected with a variety of diseases, including COVID and Hepatitis. However, this afternoon a representative from the University stated that the monkeys were not infectious.Analyst Comment: Yes, this is a real thing that happened. The escape of medical research monkeys happens surprisingly often, usually without much fanfare. In this case, the initial information that these monkeys were carrying the plot of about 4 different apocalyptic movies caused the story to gain a lot of traction immediately. Most of the monkeys have been re-captured and/or killed, but at least one remains on the loose. As such, locals have been advised to keep a lookout.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: The attacks on French rail infrastructure are a very common attack vector that is carried out daily throughout the nation. Arson attacks on electrical infrastructure (or in this case, signaling boxes beside the tracks) are carried out with such frequency that the local media doesn't usually report on them unless it causes major disruptions. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Chinese college forces students to identify as atheists According to a September 30th report from ChinaAid, a mobile app used by a Chinese vocational school, requires students to declare they're atheists.   The app, used by Tianjin Vocational College of Mechanics and Electricity in China, instructs students to check the box for “no religious belief” in their personal information sections, clearly violating their right to religious freedom.  The report stated that “point 4 under ‘personal information notes' requires filling in ‘no religious belief,' forcing all enrolled students to declare themselves as ‘atheists' or ‘non-believers.'”  The Chinese Communist Party is officially atheist and has a long history of disrespecting and persecuting religious communities, including Christians.  Psalm 14:1 says, “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.'” The Gospel Coalition stated in 2022 that “[President] Xi despises Christianity … [and] fears that religion, especially Christianity, is an attempt by foreign influences to subvert his nation.”   U.S. Special Operations helicopters near Venezuela The U.S. military's elite Special Operations aviation unit appears to have flown in Caribbean waters less than 90 miles from the coast of Venezuela in recent days, reports the Washington Post. According to an unnamed U.S. official, the helicopters were engaged in training exercises that could serve as preparation for expanded conflict against alleged drug traffickers, including potential missions inside Venezuela. Already, the U.S. military has struck at least five boats carrying illegal narcotics in international waters, killing at least 27 drug traffickers. Speaker Johnson & Speaker Ohana back Trump for Nobel Peace Prize On Wednesday, House Speaker Mike Johnson explained why he believed that President Donald Trump is deserving of the Nobel Peace Prize next year. Kurt Kaufman is a recently “ordained” minister who currently works as a “ministerial associate” at First Baptist Church of Denver. Protestia, which often criticizes liberal Christianity, posted a video of an interview Kaufman gave where he explains why he supports the intentional killing of innocent preborn babies. Listen. KAUFMAN: “Being in favor of reproductive rights [i.e., the destruction of the unborn], first and foremost, protects the life of the mother, and protects the life of the person that is already living, and is the person that is able to bring more life into this world should they choose,” “Furthermore, it protects the life of children. There are so many children that currently exist in this world that were forced to be born because of legislation, because of men that have decided for women. And so as a result, many children have grown up into a unsupportive, unhealthy and right-challenging household that hasn't been a life that any child should live. “And so being in favor of reproductive choice helps the life of children everywhere because they don't have to grow up in a world that dislikes them because they simply exist.” This is why, according to the so-called “minister” it's a good thing to support the killing of babies. But in Proverbs 6:16-19, there are seven things listed that God hates, including “the shedding of innocent blood.” LifeSiteNews asked Kaufman for further information on when the interview occurred, what he would say to the counterargument that society does not kill babies after they are born just because of their circumstances, and at what point he believes preborn babies are human beings who deserve protection from abortion. In a reply email this past Tuesday, Kaufman wrote, “I have no comment to provide.” Not surprisingly, Kaufman's outrageous remarks drew criticism from commentators on X. Scott Dunford wrote, “By his logic every kid born into a bad home situation should be eliminated. This is an evil and godless way of thinking.” And an account called Woke Preacher Clips wrote, “This is psychotic behavior.” Bad Bunny's Super Bowl perverse half time show vs. Turning Point's wholesome patriotic alternative And finally, Super Bowl LX (60) is set for Sunday, February 8, 2026, and will broadcast on NBC with a halftime performance featuring Benito Ocasio known as “Bad Bunny,” a Puerto Rican rapper who has championed sexual perversion, sexual immorality, self-indulgence, and hostility to Immigration Customs and Enforcement. The location of the attack was inside a care home that houses underage migrants.Caribbean: Yesterday the War Department announced the kinetic targeting of another fastboat off the coast of Venezuela, bringing the total to 5x vessels sunk so far during this campaign.United Kingdom: This afternoon, American Secretary of War Pete Hegseth made an unplanned emergency landing due to an incident involving his aircraft. The SECWAR was returning to the US from Belgium when a crack appeared in the windscreen of the aircraft, which possibly caused a depressurization incident. The pilots made an emergency descent to roughly 6,000 ft AGL, and proceeded to land safely without further incident.-HomeFront-Washington D.C. - DC Judge Kendra Briggs authorized the release of the two individuals who assaulted Edward Coristine, after sentencing them to probation. Both individuals (who have not been identified as they are allegedly juveniles) will face zero jail or juvenile detention time for their violent attack on Coristine, who was a high-ranking member of the DOGE team investigating government fraud during the initial months of President Trump's term. Coristine had intervened to stop a carjacking at a parking garage in DC, which resulted in a gang of roughly a dozen "juveniles" beating him, breaking his nose during the assault. The two individuals prosecuted in this case were the only two in the group that were caught.North Carolina: Following a series of attempted murders in Charlotte on Sunday, the individual who conducted the stabbing of two people has been released from jail. Paulette Gibson (who has an extensive criminal history) was released from jail on $20,000 bail, roughly 48 hours after nearly stabbing two people to death during a street fight.Analyst Comment: In the wake of the exceptionally brutal murder of Iryna Zarutska, North Carolina has passed legislation to stop the practice of cashless bail and overhaul the bail system so as to reduce the likelihood that violent offenders would be released. This was a hotly contested bill that required a veto-proof majority to pass (as the Governor threatened repeatedly to veto it). Eventually the bill was passed and became law on October 1st, but nevertheless, Gibson was released on bail anyway.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: This morning plane watchers noted the presence of several B-52 Stratofortress bombers conducting operations just north of Venezuela. So far the War Department has not commented on this development, and it's not clear as to if these transponder pings are genuine or the result of other platforms spoofing the identities of these aircraft. Now, in Alaska, a company called Nova Minerals, with a grant from the War Department, has a contract to build an antimony refinery at Port MacKenzie, west of Anchorage, to process ore from the Estelle gold mine in the West Susitna Mineral District. With Pentagon backing and a goal to begin delivering Alaska-sourced antimony into U.S. supply chains by 2027, Nova Minerals Ltd. has secured a 42.8-acre site at Port MacKenzie west of Anchorage for a refinery that would process antimony concentrates from its Estelle project and other sources."This is a defining moment for Nova Minerals and for U.S. critical mineral independence," Nova Minerals CEO Christopher Gerteisen said upon securing land use permits for the industrial site about four miles from a deepwater port in Southcentral Alaska.The refinery, to be developed by Nova subsidiary Alaska Range Resources (ARR), is part of a strategy to leverage the very high-grade antimony mineralization found on the company's Estelle project about 100 miles west of Port MacKenzie to establish a domestic supply of this metalloid critical to a wide range of military and commercial applications. The operation began two months ago and involved over 400 police officers. They targeted Christians involved in Bible study groups in east China.  One local Christian told Open Doors, “We have not seen such a massive force used to address church-related matters. This is something that warrants serious attention.” China is ranked 15th on the Open Doors' World Watch List of the most difficult countries to be a Christian.  Psalm 14:4 asks, “Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up My people as they eat bread, and do not call on the LORD?” Trump's 20-point plan to end Israeli-Gaza War On Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a 20-point plan to end the war in Gaza. The plan involves the ending of hostilities between Israel and Hamas, the Muslim terrorist group, returning of hostages held by Hamas, and providing humanitarian aid to Gaza. The plan calls for a temporary transitional government over Gaza and an economic development plan to rebuild Gaza.   Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed to the plan. Hamas leaders are reportedly leaning toward accepting the plan. War Secretary Pete Hegseth: Out with the woke, in with the warrior U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth addressed the military's most senior leaders yesterday at the Marine Corps Base in Quantico, Virginia. Hegseth announced 10 new directives, shifting the department from a “woke” to a “warrior” culture. He described what makes a good military leader.  HEGSETH: “If I've learned one core lesson in my eight months in this job, it's that personnel is policy. The best way to take care of troops is to give them good leaders committed to the war-fighting culture of the department. HEGSETH: “When it comes to any job that requires physical power to perform in combat, those physical standards must be high and gender neutral. If women can make it, excellent! If not, it is what it is. If that means no women qualify for some combat jobs, so be it. That is not the intent, but it could be the result. So be it. “It will also mean that weak men won't qualify because we're not playing games. This is combat. This is life or death. As we all know, this is you versus an enemy hell-bent on killing you. To be an effective, lethal fighting force, you must trust that the warrior alongside you in battle is capable, truly, physically capable, of doing what is necessary under fire.” He asked whether any of the military leaders would want one of their sons to become a soldier and serve alongside unqualified soldiers. HEGSETH: “Would you want him serving with fat or unfit or under trained troops? Or alongside people who can't meet basic standards in a unit where leaders were promoted for reasons other than merit, performance and war fighting?  This means at the War Department, first and foremost, we must restore a ruthless, dispassionate and common sense application of standards.” And Secretary Hegseth explained that the War Department will no longer tolerate the distracting woke nonsense. HEGSETH: “This administration has done a great deal from day one to remove the social justice, politically correct, and toxic ideological garbage that had infected our department. To rip out the politics. No more identity months, DEI offices, dudes in dresses. No more climate change worship, no more division, distraction, or gender delusions. No more debris. “As I've said before and will say again, we are done with that … I've made it my mission to uproot the obvious distractions that made us less capable and less lethal.” YouTube reinstates conservative accounts banned over anti-COVID shot posts Last Tuesday, Google announced that it will reinstate YouTube accounts it banned for political speech. Google said it previously removed YouTube content related to the COVID-19 pandemic after being pressured by the Biden administration.  Google's parent company, Alphabet, wrote in a letter, “YouTube values conservative voices on its platform and recognizes that these creators have extensive reach and play an important role in civic discourse." 52% say sex outside heterosexual marriage is sin; 49% say abortion is sin Here's more data from the State of Theology study study by Lifeway Research and Ligonier Ministries.  Just under half of U.S. adults believe the Bible is 100% accurate in all that it teaches. Sixty percent say the Bible is the highest authority for what they believe. And 50% believe the Bible has the authority to tell us what we must do.  On moral issues, 52% of Americans say that sex outside of traditional marriage is a sin. Forty-nine percent agree that abortion is a sin. Fifty-four percent oppose transgenderism. And 46% oppose homosexual behavior. Psalm 19:7-8 reminds us, “The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; the precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.” Average American's FICO score is 715 FICO released its inaugural Score Credit Insights Report this month. The report found the national average FICO credit score is 715. However, young consumers are struggling by comparison with an average FICO score of 676. Gen Z borrowers experienced the largest average score decrease of any age group, falling three points year-over-year.  A key driver for this is student loan debt. Over a third of young consumers have student loans, compared to 17% of the total population. Planned Parenthood closed it's 78,000 square foot abortion mill in Houston And finally, Planned Parenthood officially closed what was the largest abortion mill in North America yesterday.  Back in July, the abortion giant announced it would close two locations in Houston, Texas. One of them was its 78,000-square-foot Prevention Park facility.  The Houston Coalition for Life hosted a vigil outside the building to honor the estimated 110,000+ unborn children killed by abortion there. Shawn Carney, the CEO of 40 Days for Life, said the ministry has prayed outside the mega abortion mill since 2006. This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. The War Department is back. Yesterday, its secretary, Pete Hegseth, told our top commanders what a difference that will make. Every American – certainly those in uniform, but most especially our civilians – need to listen to what was one of the most impressive public addresses in our nation's history.  In its course, the Secretary underscored the object of the exercise: the restoration of the time-tested principle that if you want peace, prepare for war. Secretary Hegseth described what that will mean in practical  terms – notably, a return to the warrior spirit, to physical fitness, to merit in promotions and to a state of heightened readiness appropriate to the dangerous world in which we live.  The pride in, and gratitude for, our military expressed yesterday on behalf of our nation by both Pete Hegseth and President Trump was clearly heartfelt and deeply inspiring.  Let's roll!  This is Frank Gaffney.

That's the conclusion of a riveting webinar conducted last week by our Committee on the Present Danger: China to document the Chinese Communists' long-running, “unrestricted” and even declared “People's War” against our country. This PresentDangerChina.org webinar revealed the extent to which Xi Jinping's own preparations for a shooting war are being accompanied by those of Russia, North Korea and Iran, whose leaders were in Beijing last week and may well have discussed joint action. As philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein observed, "The limits of my language mean the limits of my world." Words do not merely describe reality — they shape it. The United States is now offering its own example of this.On Friday, the US president signed an executive order restoring the historical title "Department of War" to the Pentagon. Even though Congress has yet to approve it to make the renaming permanent, the symbolism is powerful, revealing a shift in how Washington wishes to present itself to the world.The US changed the name of its War Department to the Department of Defense in 1949 after World War II and at the dawn of the nuclear age. At that time, the US lawmakers emphasized "defense" to signal restraint and deterrence, as new international institutions such as the United Nations were being established to safeguard peace. That choice of words carried weight. It underscored that military power was to be exercised with caution and with the aim of preventing conflict.The latest reversal, however, highlights a different mood in Washington. Supporters of the change argue that the original name reflects the US' history of strength and victory, pointing back to the world wars. Yet behind this rhetoric lies a message aligned with a more assertive and transactional view of security. The move fits into a wider policy pattern: the use of force in the Middle East, backing military offensives by allies, and calls for partners in Europe and Asia to assume greater financial burdens for US protection.Domestically, the decision has understandably provoked debate, if not strong opposition. Democrats in Congress quickly voiced their objections, calling the move "childish" or "dangerous". Think tanks and historians have also raised concerns that reintroducing the "Department of War" label risks undermining the US' "moral standing", particularly given the lessons of the nuclear age. Even among the public, the debate reflects fatigue with military campaigns abroad. Many Americans, after two decades of costly wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, fear that glorifying "war" rather than "defense" could mark a return to open-ended conflicts.In a survey carried out by CGTN among 14,071 respondents from 38 countries from 2023 to 2024, 61.3 percent of the respondents believed that the US is the most combative country in the world, and 70.1 percent thought that the US waging wars abroad has caused serious humanitarian crises worldwide.Allies are equally attentive. European governments, already unsettled by Washington's imposition of unilateral tariffs and its calls for higher defense spending, now face the additional challenge of explaining to the public why they should rally behind a "Department of War" of the US. And for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, which has long presented itself as a defensive alliance, the optics of following a country that openly embraces the rhetoric of war may prove problematic.In Asia, too, US partners are watching closely. Some may fear that Washington is signaling a readiness to escalate conflicts in the region, while others may interpret the move as a prelude to shifting US resources inward. Reports that the Pentagon is drafting a new strategy, possibly downgrading the focus on the "Indo-Pacific" while prioritizing the Western Hemisphere and homeland security, will only add to the uncertainty, particularly among the US' regional pawns, such as the Philippines. If the allies and partners of the US sense that Washington is more aggressive in tone and less reliable in commitment, confidence in the US alliance system may weaken further.History offers perspective. The change of name from "War" to "Defense" was not mere semantics. It reflected a determination that in the nuclear age, stability depended on restraint, multilateral cooperation and an emphasis on peace. In today's uncertain world, that lesson remains valid. At a time when conflicts in Europe and the Middle East continue, and when the global community faces transnational challenges from climate change to public health, what is most needed is dialogue, coordination and restraint, not signals of confrontation.Language matters. The words governments choose shape perceptions, expectations and policy paths. The international community should therefore pay close attention to the implications of this renaming. It is a reminder that the US, as the world's largest military power, carries a special responsibility to lead not toward war, but toward peace. Only by upholding this responsibility can Washington, by giving the right answer to the fundamental question of war or peace, truly contribute to the common aspiration of all nations: a world defined not by conflict, but by peace and development.

Here are 3 big things you need to know—   One — The White House says President Trump will rename the Department of Defense the Department of War. Fox News reports Trump will sign an executive order today that renames the D-O-D.  Congress created the War Department in 1789, but it was renamed the Department of Defense by President Truman in 1949.   Two ---  Operations at Alligator Alcatraz in Florida can resume.  The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals has granted the state and federal government's request for a stay during the appellate process.  It blocks a Miami federal judge's preliminary injunction to stop any new construction and detainees from being brought into the migrant detention facility in the Everglades.  And number three ---   The president of Northwestern University is resigning from the post after finding himself at odds with the Trump administration. Michael issued a statement reflecting on his experience and said he has decided that now is the right time for new leadership to guide Northwestern into its next chapter. Schill is expected to remain in his role until the university finds an interim president.

Just as the US Department of Defense should change its name back to the more accurate and honest War Department—its true function and its title from 1789 until 1947 when it morphed into the National Military Establishment (NME), and then, with mad-help from a PR offensive in 1949, the DoD—state and city organizations with names such as “child welfare” and “family services” should stop air-brushing their true functions—the Departments of Family Policing. This Day in Legal History: National Security Act of 1947On this day in legal history, July 25, 1947, Congress passed the National Security Act of 1947, fundamentally reshaping the American national security infrastructure in the wake of World War II. The legislation created a unified framework to coordinate defense and intelligence operations, aiming to prevent the bureaucratic fragmentation that had plagued wartime decision-making. One of its central provisions was the formation of the National Security Council (NSC), designed to advise the president on domestic, foreign, and military policies related to national security.The Act also established the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), which replaced the wartime Office of Strategic Services (OSS) and became the first peacetime intelligence agency tasked with gathering, analyzing, and coordinating intelligence. Instead, they are tonal impressions—musical vignettes steeped in the colors and textures of Goya's Spain.Goyescas is divided into two books. Granados premiered Book I on March 11, 1911, at the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, showcasing his own virtuosic pianism. Book II followed in December of that year and was first performed in Paris at the Salle Pleyel on April 2, 1914.
