This lighthearted space odyssey is certainly a crowd-pleasing success and we discuss some of its positives and negatives. We also talk about a movie that is much less crowd-pleasing: Alpha (2025) directed by Julia Ducournau. While it certainly has some interesting ideas, this film has largely fallen flat with audiences since it was panned at the Cannes Film Festival. Does it hold up? A remake of Akira Kurosawa's High and Low (1963), Highest 2 Lowest is the first collaboration between Spike Lee and Denzel Washington since Inside Man (2006).
