Welcome back to Truth Wanted, the ACA show least likely to be trampled by elephants. This week we have ExXtian Erin in the host chair, joined by Chris Keaton. This week's Patron of the Week is Jonathan Hull! Thanks to patrons like you, the ACA can finally hire someone to come to the Freethought Library and investigate those strange sounds coming from the crawlspace.Kennita's calling back from Cali, she identifies as an atheopagan, and also as an atheist. She shares her journey from Catholicism into skepticism, and while she doesn't believe in the supernatural, she finds the practice therapeutic. We don't see any harm in reflection Kennita, but beware the dangers of believing things without good reasons!Phil wants to talk about Godzilla! Just kidding, he offers the myth that there was an alternate ending to a monster film as an example of how it's possible to do the leg work as a skeptic, yet still get it wrong. We take a quick tour of some common misconceptions, and both hosts agree that we must continue to be vigilant and open-minded about our beliefs.Next up is Jasmine, she asks if our hosts miss anything about being Christian. We get an emphatic no from Erin, and several examples of why. Chris is conflicted, but realizes it's the community he missed, and he's found other ways to find that, through volunteer work and social groups. We'll stomp on the dangers of faith healing for a few minutes before we move on.That's it for this week folks! We'll see you back here next week, but in the meantime, be wary, Godzilla is still out on the prowl, searching for the lost hidden ending of his film, where he beats King Kong.

Hello Truth-Seekers and welcome to another episode of Truth Wanted. This week ExXtian Erin is joined by Trevor Poelman of the Belief it or Not podcast.Liam is our first caller, and wants to talk about premonitions that he's noticed since deconverting. Erin points out that coincidence and the human tendency to see patterns are more likely than clairvoyance. Pareidolia is a thing and Liam seems to agree. Stay curious, friend!Next up is Queer Atheist from Illinois, who recently had his dirty, dirty chakra cleaned at work. He's also been turned down for dates because of his astrological sign, and wants our hosts to opine about how to gently push back on such nonsense. Liam points out that promoting personal beliefs in the workplace is inappropriate, whether it be theology or astrology. No -ologies allowed folks! Erin offers tips on how to politely set boundaries, and our caller makes clear that a clean carpet is better than a clean chakra.Keeping the woo theme going is Kennita, who's been offered Reiki massage by someone close to her, and while she appreciates the massage, the magic crystals are a bridge too far. How best to be honest? Erin points out that touch therapy and human contact is valuable and doesn't rely on discredited claims. Both hosts agree that the placebo effect of pseudoscience is harmless until folks prefer it to actual medical care!David from WA wants to know whether our hosts think morality is subjective or objective. Erin thinks goals are key to determining what's right and wrong, and like a typical Canadian, Trevor just likes being nice to people. Our spidey senses go off when anyone brings up Adolf Hitler and slavery in a conversation about morality, and our hosts quickly identify and deconstruct a weak apologist argument for why we ought to listen to an invisible sky daddy. That's our show this week! Join us this Sunday after The Atheist Experience for a very special episode of Truth Wanted, live from a haunted hotel room!

Now he's left wondering how to navigate the resentment. Maintain boundaries and set aside conversations that ignite bitter feelings in the future.Kennita in California thinks atheists shouldn't use god as an expression because it might give off the impression that they are believers. Flippant expression is a normal part of human language. Let's pick our battles and leave this one alone.Marcus in Texas met a Christian this past week who believes in miracles and wants to plant seeds of doubt. Although you should never expect to change anyone else's beliefs, you can utilize tools like street evangelism to encourage them to examine their ideas with skepticism.Autumn in California called to talk about a social media storm over the definition of atheism. According to some, atheism is the assertion that no god exists. Let's keep working to de-stigmatize the term atheist so we can have more honest conversations.Sterling In SC wonders what it would convince us that aliens exist. We've got one word for you: Evidence. Show us the proof and we'll start to believe.Jamie called all the way from Australia to play around with some street evangelism. How would Christians respond if god commanded them to murder? In today's episode of the Truth Wanted, Objectivity Dan is joined by a special guest who might be recognized by some. It is P*ck who is coming up on a year with the ACA now! Congress released the UFO report and there are NO new revelations. As we may have guessed, the conspiracy theorists are going to have fun with this! Stay tuned for the new species of human that of course people think are nephilim that proves the Bible to be true. First up we have Matt in AR who has seen a UFO while stationed in Iraq. This looked like the Phoenix Lights soaring across the sky. The lights did not descend like a meteor; they moved across the sky. This is the first time we ever had a caller that described seeing a UFO while on military duty. We tend to have a bad sense of distance and scope, especially at night. It was probably something experimental. A healthy sense of skepticism is appreciated! Okun in NV, a former radar tech in the Navy, reveals that the screen footage from the jet that was tracking the oblong thing is probably mostly BS. The little grain of truth can grow to a conspiracy theory quickly. We just don't have enough information about this yet to conclude anything. Kennita in CA states there are probably aliens here because we have only had radio for a little over 100 years and it would have taken them longer than that to get here, even with the closest stars. They were probably AI because of their advanced technology and the entire civilization may have already disappeared. Check out the Magic Flute Opera for a related idea!Traditional Catholic in LA claims that crafts have no mass and do not behave the way they should if they were physical because they accelerate and vanish. They are really demonic illusions. How do we pick them up with physical apparatuses then? How do you know the source of this? A guy that drew a picture is not going to cut it. We can't say that something is fake or real without doing research. We would love to know if we can summon demons as long as we don't have to pay for it. Andrew in OH wants to talk about the absurdity of 911 conspiracies. These theories are not even rooted in physics. There is just enough light for the believers and just enough dark for people to doubt. An act of terror is still the most likely explanation. This was a wild episode! We went from UFOs to demons to 911! Thank you everyone and continue the conversation with us in a number of different ways. Remember to always keep wanting the truth.

Kennita Hickman  Kennita Hickman started writing at age 14 but  soon found herself leaning toward the music industry, helping  manage independent musicians. As an entrepreneur, Kennita pursues different revenue streams and access points. Her entrepreneurial ambitions reflect breadth and depth,  being the principal of the Catera OmniVision Group and a writer and organizer for Our City, Your Vote in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The self-proclaimed “Hustler,”  aims to develop objective-based plans for musicians and other independent artists. The big questions she poses to her clients are: “What is the next step? What is the plan? And how do we work to get there?”  Kennita’s approach helps artists explore fundamental pathways to exposure, funneling and increasing their access points for revenue streams. Opportunity  Kennita stresses the importance of developing relationships and while not all relationships work, she explores opportunities with those who realize the significance of a mutually beneficial opportunity to build exposure. A Fan of Music  Kennita is thirsty for artists who excite her. She highlights the pros and cons of mechanisms like YouTube when looking at accessibility. The dueling contrast of having content within a field of too much content is a fundamental element that Kennita knows needs to be addressed. “The internet has made things more accessible, which is a great thing, but it’s also made things more accessible, which is a bad thing.”  Podcast Importance  Like many entrepreneurs, Kennita believes in finding the most effective routes to exposure. She shares her belief that podcasts feature as a tool in an entrepreneurs repertoire and as a person of color, Kennita also finds that working with pod-casters of color helps improve access to the table for all hard-working artists of color. Creating Entrepreneur Spaces  Edible Milwaukee and Our City, Your Vote are two current projects that Kennita is very excited about working on. She’s created a music and food column, which appear in Edible Milwaukee, and is an organizer for a Get Out the Vote campaign in Milwaukee. Ultimately, Kennita believes that she is creating a “culture of independent music”.  While doing this, her entrepreneurial spirit is the anchor that helps gather and lead like-minded artists to a new and shared space for success. Finding the Beginning  Recognizing the importance of peace and ease, Kennita emphasizes the beginning for any entrepreneur starts with finding an inner calm and peace to start moving forward. From experience, she understands that business success is an ongoing process. Motivated to reach her goals, Kennita does not quit, but is grateful for her individual successes. Goals and Goal Setting  Vision boards help Kennita find her entrepreneurial focus. Her work and ambition never stop as Kennita continues working towards her goals essentially, finding revenue streams to achieve entrepreneurial success. She shares some critical advice: “Having multiple opportunities for revenue is essential.”  Additional Information: LinkedIn:  Kennita Hickman E-mail: Kennita@cateromnivision.com
