DHS Funding Bill Fails The temporary government shutdown continues as legislation that would have funded the Department of Homeland Security failed to pass in the Senate.  The details from correspondent Clayton Neville.   New Trouble For Britney Spears Oops, she did it again.  Britney Spears was stopped by police driving on a California highway, suspected of being under the influence.  Correspondent Mike Hempen reports.   Latest In The Middle East President Donald Trump said Thursday he should be involved in choosing Iran's next supreme leader as the U.S. and Israel hammered the country for a sixth day.  He called thoughts of the son of the late-Ayatollah Ali Khameni taking over as supreme leader unacceptable.    Iran Attacks Widen Overnight, Iran attacked two residential buildings and a hotel in Bahrain, continuing their strategy of bringing more countries into the conflict.  Correspondent Jon Gambrell reports neighboring Azerbaijan accuses Iran of a drone attack and vows to retaliate, while Sri Lanka says it is trying to safeguard an Iranian navy vessel after the US torpedoed and sank an Iranian frigate that was near its territorial waters.   Texas Two-Step Results from Tuesday's primary elections in Texas are leading to calls from Washington for some Republican candidates to drop out of their runoff races.  Correspondent Clayton Neville reports from Dallas.   Senate Protester Injured A man's arm was broken this week as he protested US military action in Iran and Israel's war in Gaza while inside the Capital at a Senate hearing in Washington in his full uniform.  Correspondent Joan Jones reports that one of those who helped secret service usher the veteran out of the Senate chamber was a sitting US Senator. Arrest After Two Cleveland Girls Murdered There was shock and horror in Cleveland this week when police found the bodies of two young girls stuffed inside suitcases and left in a park in shallow graves.  Thursday night, police arrested the mother of the two girls.   States Tariff Lawsuit Two dozen states announced they are taking legal action over President Trump's recent tariffs.  Correspondent Mike Hempen reports that one state, Connecticut, is seeking $17 hundred dollars per family in his state for tariff-related expenditures.   Finally   NBC "Today" show host Savannah Guthrie has visited her co-workers in New York for the first time since the disappearance of her mother in Arizona one month ago.  Correspondent Carrie Antfinger has details.    It was a rough night in college basketball as a couple things become clear.  Kansas is not the typical squad that's easy to like.  Darryn Peterson has been a distraction, Bill Self lost control Tuesday night and got booted.  Then Jacque Vaughn got a T and Elmarko Jackson committed a flagrant foul.  It had a spoiled brat look we are not used to seeing.  Meanwhile, Mizzou's final week of the regular season starts with a dud of a performance at OU.  Mizzou is not predictable or consistent in any way and it's hard to understand why.    The World Baseball Classic starts for Team USA Friday night... we'll hear from Bobby Witt Jr. who is starring as the leadoff hitter.    The Kansas Senate is working on a state law to require parental permission for a child to leave class and go to a demonstration.  Of course this is so logical the left is losing it's mind.  In Missouri, lawmakers want to bring back driver's education and make it a requirement for graduation.    Mail in voting remains undefeated as Olathe Schools win $389 million from taxpayers in the off election mail in scam of the year.  The emails just keep flowing in about Pastor Adam Hamilton who says he's likely running for US Senator.  Texas has some interesting election results and Kansas Speedway is hosting a national television broadcast this week.

Today on America in the MorningIran Hits US Embassy In Riyadh Iran is retaliating for the air strikes against targets inside their borders with attacks of their own on U.S. and Israeli targets in neighboring countries, including the US Embassy in Saudi Arabia, broadening the scope of the conflict.  John Stolnis has the latest from Washington.   Hegseth Says No Endless War America woke up Monday with a press briefing held by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and General Dan Caine, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon to discuss what Hegseth said will not be an endless war.  Washington correspondent Sagar Meghani reports the Trump administration is rebutting concerns the Iran war could spiral into a bigger regional fight.   Evacuate Now The US State Department urged American citizens to depart immediately from countries and territories throughout the Middle East after Iran widened their scope of attacks.  Correspondent Julie Walker reports travelers have been stranded in a number of nations as the Middle East conflict spreads, and governments including the US are scrambling to bring citizens home.   SCOTUS Rules On NY Congressional Map The Supreme Court on Monday announced that it would keep in place a New York congressional map, overruling a judge who had found that the map violated the Constitution by diluting the power of Black and Latino voters.   Primary Day Voters in several states including Texas will vote in the primaries as midterm elections ramp up nationwide.  Correspondent Clayton Neville reports.   Will Iran Go Iran was scheduled to be a part of the 2026 World Cup played in the US, but their participation is now in doubt which could cause headaches for soccer's governing body.  Correspondent Gethin Coolbaugh reports.   Trump Talks Iran President Trump says the war with Iran could last as long as five weeks, and called the US and Israeli action the last best chance to address the Iranian nuclear and ballistic missile program.  Washington correspondent Sagar Meghani reports on the lead-up to the president's decision to take America to war.   Congress Briefed On War Congress continues to react to U-S-Israeli strikes on Iran after leaders were briefed by the top military officials.  Correspondent Clayton Neville reports.   Latest On Texas Shooting Authorities in Texas say the gunman who opened fire outside an Austin bar, killing two people and wounding 14, was not on their radar before the attack that authorities are treating as an act of terrorism tied to Iran.  Jennifer King reports. Tell me if this makes sense… We live in a world today characterized by a fetishized pornographic addiction to rape. If it were not so, Law & Order: SVU wouldn’t have made it past a single season – let alone, into SYNdication for nearly 30 years…! I loathe Adorno and the CULTural Marxists who SYNthesized (read: weaponized) Marx and Freud to the general detriment of mankind, beginning with the ‘West’. But, he raised some legit points, as often the baddies do. It’s their SOLUTIONS we all need be wary of. For nigh on 100 years, we’ve basked in the jaundiced glow of the Frankfurt School, as legions of university students continue having their minds and spirits poisoned in the name of ‘Progress’. I digress… In Adorno’s “Fetish-character” essay, he states, a fetish is a substitute object of desire.[1] I would submit that in the latent undercurrent of this Nietzschean ‘power-evolving universe’ of today’s America; men and women, by and large, secretly harbor a craven desire for rape. It sounds crazy! Until one considers the popularity of Law & Order: SVU for the last 27 years. America is Kung-Fu LARPing, with each new iteration of the ‘fetish substitute object of desire’ further blurring the lines between fantasy and reality (schizoaffective disorder) as we creep ever closer to the Chaos Magick of bringing these secret desires to life. Jean Carroll) – and yet, only Epstein and Maxwell have been ‘brought to justice’. Speaking of ‘justice’, Thomas Massie probably said it best:[3] Congress created the Department of Justice, Congress funds the Department of Justice, and Congress is responsible for the oversight of the Department of Justice. When will we see justice? I’ll tell you what I’ve not seen. I’ve not seen any arrests from the revelations in the Epstein Files – over 3 million documents describing horrible things, describing unspeakable things, much of it redacted. Over two dozen people have resigned; CEOS, members of government, worldwide. But, I haven’t seen any arrests or investigations here in the United States, from this Department of Justice. Prince Andrew, Duke of York, who has since been stripped of his royalty, his royal titles, due to his affiliation with Jeffrey Epstein, has been arrested. Peter Mandelson, who previously served as UK’s Ambassador to the United States, resigned in disgrace from United Kingdom’s House of Lords and the Labor Party, and he’s been arrested. Former Prime Minister of Norway Thorbjorn Jagland has been charged. But, we don’t see any charges, arrests, or investigations in the United States. What do we see? We see our FBI Director celebrating in the locker room at the Olympics overseas. It’s fine to be proud of this country. But, we should be proud of this country because we have a system of justice that works. And yet we do not. … We need justice. We want the Department of Justice to get to work, and that’s what they need to do – now. The Trump (45/47) DOJ is unwilling to rat itself out – and so are the other 77+ million co-conspirators… And then there’s the 77 million co-conspirators who voted for Epstein’s best friend Trump as many as three times, knowing he’d been accused of sexual assault by dozens of women, and even after he was found liable for sexually assaulting E. Jean Carroll. For 77 million men and women it was not a dealbreaker! He rapes, but he saves. When will we see justice? I’ll tell you what I’ve not seen. I’ve not seen any arrests from the revelations in the Epstein Files – over 3 million documents describing horrible things, describing unspeakable things – much of it redacted. Over two dozen people have resigned; CEOs, members of government, worldwide. But, I haven’t seen any arrests or investigations here in the United States, from this Department of Justice. Prince Andrew, Duke of York, who has since been stripped of his royalty, his royal titles, due to his affiliation with Jeffrey Epstein, has been arrested. Peter Mandelson, Who previously served as UK’s Ambassador to the United States, resigned in disgrace from United Kingdom’S House of Lords and the Labor Party, and he’s been arrested. Former Prime Minister of Norway, Thorbjorn Jagland has been charged. But, we don’t see any charges, arrests, or investigations in the United States. What do we see? We see our FBI Director celebrating in the locker room at the Olympics overseas. It’s fine to be proud of this country. But, we should be proud of this country because we have a system of justice that works. And yet we do not. Who are the men that should be investigated? I’ll name them right here. Leon Black; you don’t even have to see past the redactions to see that this man needs to be investigated. Jess Staley; accused of terrible things, it’s right there in the files. Why is he not being investigated? And, Leslie Wexner; why did the FBI list him as a co-conspirator in their own documents in a child sex trafficking case, and then tell him, according to him, that they had no questions for him? Why is that? Well, the Epstein Files Transparency Act requires the DOJ and the FBI to disclose to us their internal memos and emails about how they made those decisions, whether to prosecute or not prosecute. Yet, they have not delivered those memos. And, we still don’t have the memos and documents and emails from 2008, to explain why Jeffrey Epstein was given such a light sentence in what would have been an open and shut case of child sex trafficking, which allowed him to go back and recommit these terrible crimes, create hundreds of more victims, and ensnare so many other people in his conspiracy. Where are those documents that describe those decisions? We need justice. We want the Department of Justice to get to work, and that’s what they need to do – now! Mark opened the Mother Lode night club when he was 16, was appointed to the youth commission by Mayor George Sullivan in 1980 and served in Mayor Tony Knowles' administration, all that before being elected to the Anchorage Assembly at age 26 -- the youngest ever to serve on that body. He was sworn in as mayor of Anchorage on July 1, 2003, and elected to the US Senate in 2008 defeating Senator Ted Stevens. He served just one term before being defeated by Sen.
