How do you know when you've hit rock bottom? For Lara Bingle it was licking a battery for a radio stunt when she was meant to be in court for an alleged driving offence. Lara Worthington is a glamorous business woman and mother, but Lara Bingle was a lazy gewl with a passion for meat pies and one of the greatest reality shows known to man. This episode we unpack the life and crimes of the 'where the bloody hell are you' woman, and decide if a car can be blamed for dangerous driving. Plus more of your lazy gewl stories! After 37 years, 63 weddings, 20 births, 68 deaths, nearly 9000 episodes and one very bizarre dog dream sequence, iconic Australian soap opera Neighbours comes to an end tonight. It made stars of Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Margot Robbie, Daniel MacPherson and Toadie Rebecchi's mullet. And it launched the pop careers of Delta Goodrem, Natalie Imbruglia, and at for at least one magnificent single, Holly Valance. But more importantly it turned the camera back on ourselves and made Australian suburban life fascinating in a way shows like EastEnders and Coronation Street had in the UK. It also did more for Australian tourism and immigration than Lara Bingle could ever have dreamed of. And now the show and its stars take their final bows, as Neighbours enters the history books. Today on Please Explain, senior culture writer Karl Quinn joins Nathanael Cooper to discuss the final episode and what the show's legacy will be. Correction: An earlier version of this episode credited Guy Ritchie as having started his career on Neighbours rather than Guy Pearce. This was incorrect. We apologise for the error, which has now been removed.Subscribe to The Age & SMH: https://subscribe.smh.com.au/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

SCO MO, HILLSONG AND THE Q WE CAN'T SAY… Praise be – it's another episode of Eavesdroppin'! Now, Geordie & Michelle don't like to get political but when lovely listener Jo alerted Geordie to a documentary about Australian prime minister Scott Morrison, aka Scotty from Marketing, and his involvement in all sorts of conspiracy theories, we had look into it… But not before Michelle tries to sing songs of praise, Geordie talks about the Australian bushfires of summer 2019, Michelle goes on a little rant about Fortress Australia and the country's bizarre response to Covid, and the pair's Doris Stokes moment when they both thought about a pig called Sparky EXACTLY AT THE SAME TIME last episode!!! Spooky!!! Or are they just vibin' on the same groove? Hahahahahahaha. Let's dive right in… What is Hillsong? Is it a cult? Why is Justin Bieber a Belieber? And what has any of this got to do with Scott Morrison and the Liberal party of Australia? Speaking of Scott Morrison… What is his connection to the Q conspiracy? Who is Tim Stewart? Why did ScoMo say ritual abuse when he shouldn't have? And how was this man allowed to spend $186 million on Tourism Australia's sh*ttest ad campaign ever? You'll have to listen to find out! Enjoy the episode and keep Eavesdroppin'!
