Within the ecosystem of a city, what is the function of congregations? Are they just there to serve the needs of the members or should they play a role in contributing to the health and vitality of the city, or, at least, the neighborhood the church inhabits? The Leadership Foundation is a growing global network of faith-based leaders and organizations from over 40 member cities. Leadership Foundations believes that if we can change our cities, we can change the world. And this change starts with relationships.  So how do they go about inviting their members from Dallas to Delhi into place-based impact? We are excited to have Lee Kricher from Pittsburgh, Oliver Rishmond from Chattanooga, and Dave Hillis from National speak about the work of churches in impacting their cities. Listen in as one of our Lead Consultants, David Park, discusses the methods the Leadership Foundation is using to help churches engage in place-based work.

Pastoral transitions are something that every church will face at some point. Navigating these critical moments of transition can be challenging, not only for the leaders involved but also for the communities that you lead.   Dr. Lee Kricher is the author of Seamless Pastoral Transition – an incredible resource that many church leaders across traditions have turned to in order to find support through their own pastoral transitions. On this week's podcast, Ron speaks with Dr. Lee about this powerful book, and together, they unpack a few of the book's key principles that are helping church leaders transition well!   About the Book: "A Seamless Pastoral Transition is a leadership transition in which a pastoral vacancy is avoided by a planned overlap in service of the outgoing pastor and the incoming pastor. When implemented with sound leadership transition principles, a Seamless Pastoral Transition can ensure the continuity of a church's mission and maintain a church's positive momentum.   In addition to case studies from a variety of churches, this book covers 3 Leadership Transition Imperatives to embrace and 6 Leadership Transition Pitfalls to avoid. If you are a pastor, a denominational executive, or a church board member, one of your highest priorities must be planning for pastoral transitions with great diligence. If you agree, then this book is written for you."   Connect with Dr. Lee Kricher & get your copy of 'Seamless Pastoral Transition': Website: https://futureforwardchurches.com/ Buy on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Seamless-Pastoral-Transition-Imperatives-Pitfalls/dp/1662851227 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/leekricher/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/leekricher/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lee.kricher/

About Melanie Mitro: I am a 35-year-old mother to 2 beautiful boys, Landon age 8 and Bryce 7. I began my fitness journey 6 1/2 years ago. On May 1, 2011, I began the Summer Slim Down Challenge with my coach that ultimately changed my life. For the past 6 1/2 years, I have been practicing clean eating, proper portion control, fitness accountability and I am happy to say that I have kept off all the initial weight that I have lost. I not only love the community that Team Beachbody has given me but I have made some of my very best friends in the world. I found a fire that I didn’t realize was inside of me when I became a Coach. I truly fell in love with helping my customers reach their fullest potential and now I also help my team of coaches do the exact same thing. We have built an incredible tribe of women all over the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom that are working to educate others on how to fuel their bodies with real whole foods and regular exercise. I truly want to help women ditch the dieter mentality and feel their absolute best. I also have a desire to help other women in their business ventures. I have found myself drawn to speaking, training, guiding and mentoring other women to growing a business that helps them live out their purpose and passion as well. I get incredible joy out of seeing other people have ah-ha moments and reach their own level of success because of something that I said or did. I am blessed that my coach introduced me to this opportunity which has given me a platform and voice to carry out my God-given talents. Never in a million years would I have expected that this small town mom from Mars PA would be the 4X Top Coach of a health and fitness company. Clearly, God had a plan for me, long before I ever saw the vision. This L3 Leadership episode comes to you from our breakfast series. We had Lee Kricher and Jason Howard, Pastors of Amplify Church, speak on Living out Leadership Transitions. This talk is full of rich content. Lee is in the process of handing off the church to Jason. They talk about what their relationship looks like, mentoring, how they are processing the transition, and practical tips for anyone looking to pass the baton to the next generation. In this episode, you'll hear their talk from the breakfast. In episode #108, you'll get to hear the question and answer session with Lee and Jason, which was just as good as their talk.
