Purpose is a factor of life that every man knows will improve his quality of life. Unfortunately, we seem to be in an era when purpose is increasingly abysmal in the lives of too many men. Men in all walks and stages of life are floundering around aimlessly, wondering why they're anxious, depressed, and alone. My guest today, Garrett Unclebach, former Navy SEAL, is a man who is intimately familiar with why and how purpose drives men to step up, take charge of their lives, and succeed. We unpack why a man must look beyond himself, how surrendering in certain circumstances could lead you to an incredible place you've never considered, the power of equanimity and how to cultivate it, why being faithful when you have nothing leads to a life of prosperity and abundance, and how to judge what you should be doing and who you should be doing it with. The word "duplication" gets thrown around constantly in entrepreneurial circles, especially in network marketing, but few truly understand what healthy duplication actually means. Push Coach Josh dives deep into this misunderstood concept, challenging the prevailing "copy-paste" leadership approach that stifles creativity and authentic growth. When leaders demand their teams do everything exactly as they do – posting the same content, following identical scripts, and building on the same platforms – they're inadvertently sending a devastating message: your ideas don't matter, your authenticity is irrelevant, and your creative capacity isn't valued. This approach not only burns people out but creates the exact opposite of what these leaders claim to want – team members who can't think for themselves, take ownership, or contribute meaningfully.Josh offers a refreshing alternative by explaining how true duplication works through teachable frameworks and methodologies rather than rigid tactics. Drawing from his PUSH Method for mindset work and Belief Bridge framework for messaging, he demonstrates how effective leaders teach the "how" behind their success, not just the "what." This approach empowers team members to customize validated strategies to fit their authentic voice and unique strengths – much like how Michael Jordan's championship teams succeeded not by having duplicate Jordans but by leveraging complementary skills from players like Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman. The ultimate goal isn't to create carbon copies who depend entirely on their upline or company, but to develop true entrepreneurs who possess transferable skills making them unstoppable in any environment. As John Maxwell taught, great leadership isn't about filling a stadium with followers – it's about filling a field with capable players who know what they're doing. Isn't it time to elevate your leadership approach from creating followers to developing leaders? If you would like to learn more about working with Josh, and the Performance Coaching Certification, visit JoshCoats.com!

Between employee burnout, working remotely, and economic stress, being a leader these days comes with its fair share of challenges. This week's podcast guest shares how to steer your team to success. Karin Hurt is the Founder and CEO of Lets Grow Leaders, a global leadership company known for practical tools and leadership development programs that stick. A former Verizon Wireless executive with more than two decades of experience in sales, customer service, and human resources, Karin is known for growing courageous leaders, building great cultures, and inspiring high-performance teams. Karin and her husband, David have helped tens of thousands of leaders on every continent (except Antarctica) with their leadership development programs and keynotes. They also provide clean water to the people of Cambodia through their Winning Wells philanthropic initiative. Karin is an award-winning author of five books and host of the popular LinkedIn show, Asking for a Friend. She was recently named by Inc. Magazine as a Top 100 Great Leadership Speaker. Developing Leaders in Your Company Lets Grow Leaders works with fast-growing startups to help them expand beyond the founder group. When you have a small team, everyone is a visionary and free to pursue their ideas. But once you reach 50 people, you need systems and processes. You need to create alignment throughout the organization. The first step is to clarify your vision. Where is the company going and what are your most important things (what Karin calls MITs). What is your communication style? How are you how are you leading? How are you training and growing leaders within your company? Get everyone on the page. Turning Conflict into Collaboration  After surveying 5,000 people in 45 countries, 70% said they were experiencing the same or significantly more workplace conflict than before the pandemic. More people are working remotely, some are feeling disconnected due to lingering mental health challenges. Others are experiencing burnout from understaffing and increased workload. The biggest cause of conflict is a lack of shared expectations. As the leader, you might think you've clearly communicated your expectations, but your team could have misinterpreted them. If you tell your team they can work from anywhere, it's worth clarifying what exactly that means. Do they still need to attend meetings in your time zone? Do they need to have their camera on? If you require people to come into the office, what are they expected to do with that time? Define what success looks like and share that definition with your team. Enjoy this episode with Karin Hurt… Soundbytes 10:16-10:32 “It gets very frustrating because you do not have the systems and processes, and everybody is used to being able to come up with their idea and follow their idea, but you really need alignment and you need communication plans. You need all those foundational things.” 15:03-15:28 “You've got remote and hybrid teams. You've got people who are feeling disconnected with lingering mental health challenges. You've got burnout and understaffing, and all of that is emerging, and yet we're coming to people and saying, ‘You've got to do more.' The economy is uncertain, and all of that is really creating a lot of stress and anxiety for people. And so we need to give people practical ways to collaborate.” Quotes “The biggest challenge that we're seeing right now is that there is so much conflict.” “On the other side of differences of opinion, that's where innovation really lies.” “One good conversation about expectations can prevent 14 ‘why didn't you' conversations.” Links mentioned in this episode: From Our Guest Website: https://letsgrowleaders.com/ Connect with Karin Hurt on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/karin-hurt/ Connect with brandiD Download our free guide to learn 16 crucial website updates that attract more leads and convert visitors into clients: https://thebrandid.com/website-tweaks/ Ready to elevate your digital presence with a powerful brand or website? In this episode of Leadership is Feminine, Kris Plachy unpacks the path from being the one in charge to developing leaders who can run the business without you. She introduces the three key questions that shape an entrepreneur's journey: How do I do this? How are we going to do this? And finally, how are they going to do this? These questions reveal the natural progression from doing everything yourself to building a team and ultimately empowering others to take full ownership. Kris explores what it takes to move through these stages and why so many women get stuck in the transition. While the business world leans heavily on virtual interactions and digital spaces, she challenges leaders to prioritize face-to-face gatherings—because the impact goes far beyond logistics or agendas. Kris emphasizes that in-person meetings don't just strengthen relationships; they deepen commitment to the business's mission and vision. She believes that when people have the chance to connect in real life, it changes them—it changes how they see their work, their team, and their purpose. Many talented and driven individuals are working in isolation, and that separation is limiting their ability to perform at their best. Human beings thrive on connection, and creating opportunities for in-person interaction is essential for unlocking true potential. Looking ahead, Kris introduces her new program, The Sage's Pathway, designed to bring leaders together for immersive, in-person coaching. She acknowledges that making time for in-person connection requires effort, planning, and sacrifice, but she stands firm in her belief that the benefits far outweigh the challenges. At a time when loneliness is considered a public health crisis, Kris urges us to rethink how we build and maintain meaningful professional relationships. Are you ready to harness the magic of human connection in your leadership journey? Tune in to this episode of Leadership is Feminine and discover why in-person connection is an investment you can't afford to overlook. “You cannot just hire people to get tasks done. You are hiring and engaging and inviting people's hearts, people's minds, people's energy, and people's hands to a vision.” Key Takeaways From This Episode The Impact of Human Connection in Leadership: The irreplaceable value of in-person compared to remote connection. The Importance of Bringing People Together: Building a thriving team culture through time spent face to face. Realization of the Need for More In-person Interactions: In-person interaction alters the connection among team members and adds value to their work. It perpetuates the predominant mindset that leadership development is a like a pass to an amusement park. You go on a bunch of rides, maybe play some games, have a laugh or two, and write it off as your developmental investment in leadership for the year.""Attending a few workshops or programs spread out over time is not going to do much in terms of developing expert-level leadership. There needs to bean ongoing commitment to practicing one's leadership to get the timeand amount of deliberate practice to become that expert leader.""The lack of evidence to support the effectiveness of leadership development in for-profit organizations and corporations is unsettling, to say the least.""Sending a changed person back into an unchanged system tends to be an exercise in futility. A systems perspective incorporates environmental influence into the design and delivery of leader development interventions."Resources Mentioned in This EpisodeDavid Day on Google ScholarBook: Developing Leaders and Leadership: Principles, Practices, and Processes by DayAssessment:  International Personality Item Pool (IPIP)Book: Tiny Habits by BJ FoggBook: The Power Broker by Robert CaroNetwork - Criterion ChannelAbout The International Leadership Association (ILA)The ILA was created in 1999 to bring together professionals interested in studying, practicing, and teaching leadership.
