This week we are joined by Matt Gamble, owner of G3 Fitness, as he shares his insights on finding peace and presence in life. Matt explains how we are born into this world as love and consciousness, but as we grow up, we become programmed by society and develop an identity to which we attach ourselves.Matt emphasizes the importance of going within and discovering what is holding us back from the infinite possibilities that the world has to offer. He shares how he found more self-love and worth within himself, which amplified everything he already had, including his business and family life.We also discuss the concept of detachment and how it taught him to appreciate things for what they are, rather than constantly wanting more. He explains that peace only lies in the present moment and that being in a flow state means being fully present and in the moment.Timestamp:00:00 Introduction01:45 Being The Fat Kid 08:00 Insecurities in Fitness0:17:13 Going Within To Find Your Path0:27:35 Learning Who You Are0:33:22 What Can We Control In Our Lifes0:43:19 Are Dreams Trying To Teach Us Something?0:50:45 The Balance Between Goals & Living In The Moment0:59:30 Get Out Of Your Own Way1:04:10 Darkness Is Thoughts, Light Is Intuition 1:09:00 Peace Is in Everyone1:12:14 Not Getting Caught Up In Thoughts1:18:40 Being In The Present Moment1:24:29 What Do You Want Out Of This Lifetime1:27:50 Closing Tradition Check Out Matt On Instagramhttps://instagram.com/gamble132The Betar Project InstagramInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/thebetarproject/Support the showConnect with Nick:Instagram TikTok YouTube

It’s difficult to believe that another ten years has flown by and your gracious hosts are digging through an entire decade of film for the second time in this podcast’s illustrious lifespan. But for this go-around, Kurt and Andrew (and oftentimes our good friend Matt Gamble) have gone through these obstreperous ten years more or less together. For us, this has been a lifestyle; a marriage if you will. Not to each other, but to this web site, this podcast (what’s left of it) and to the art of film. We’ve spent a third of our lives(!) breaking down scenes, bickering about scripts, quoting Walter Sobchak and Mark Rumsfield, debating ambition versus actual, deriding the Transformers series, lavishing praise on everything from Almodóvar to Zahler, lamenting the loss of some of our greatest heroes and wondering why there isn’t more of Rosario Dawson in pretty much everything. And for ten damn years we’ve done all of this together… always wishing there was additional time to see and do more of all of it. So in this episode we breakdown the decade that was. If we figured out one thing, it’s that there’s nothing much to pin down on the last 3650 days. No matter where you look, there’s something new and interesting or different and obtuse. It might not all be good, but it’s uniquely its own and there’s art to be found all over the place. It’s in camera and out. It’s in our personal subconscious and society at large. For better or worse, it’s shaped who we are as people and it’s fun to go back over all of the ups and downs, strikes and gutters and what-have-yous from the past ten years. Nothing before has been like it and nothing moving forward will be the same. It’s glorious; warts and all. As always, please join the conversation by leaving your own thoughts in the comment section below and again, thanks for listening! "History shows again and again how nature points out the folly of men!" This month Robert, Nat, and Cody turn their attention to attention to two films from Ishiro Honda dealing with nuclear fears, 1954's GODZILLA and 1958's THE H-MAN aka BEAUTY AND THE LIQUID MEN. Unfortunately technical issues rear their heads, but like Godzilla we persevered in the face of technological challenges and if we didn't totally triumph, sorry about some of the sound quality, we managed to deliver a podcast all the same. Special thanks to Matt Gamble who joined the regular trio and delivered a recap on his adventures in the Galapagos before joining in the rest of the discussion.
This week, I interview Matt Gamble. Matt is a prolific blogger, podcaster and passionate lover of movies. Our conversation veers from falling in love with movies and bowling to being a theater manager to texting during movies.

It's the 2-year anniversary of the Director's Club Podcast! With all the support we've gotten from friends, fans, guests, film critics and listeners, we decided to put together the inevitable slapdash mash of clips from previous episodes. Most are fun and funnier, while a few are smart and sweet. For the first hour, you get to hear our live reactions to some of the highlights from the first 50 episodes over the years. Then we realized it was 2am, and Patrick's heater decided that it was best if we just turn the final ten minutes of this episode into a nice little montage of clips accompanied by background music instead. We can't thank you enough for listening to us these past couple of years, and we look forward to at least fifty more episodes of Director's Club.In about two weeks, we will be joined by two returning guests: Russ Woods will be live in person, while Matt Gamble returns via Skype to discuss The Coen Brothers! Please be sure to leave us a voicemail with your list to play on the show as well at 224-366-9528. If you’re a movie blogger/podcaster and would like a guest spot on the show to talk about a filmmaker whose work you admire. Thanks again for listening and be sure to check out our updated upcoming schedule in the sidebar to see which directors we’ll be talking about soon! Happy New Year everyone! For the first time ever, we welcome two guests for a point/counter-point discussion on a very divisive filmmaker. This whole new format quite possibly turned out to be our best show yet with lots of hilarity and violent screams of fury! Some love Brian De Palma as a remarkable visual artist and cite him as a member of the New Hollywood group of filmmakers, while others despise him for being derivative and lazy with the storytelling process. We wanted to explore both sides. Our guests, Peter Sobczynski of Efilmcritic.com is on the plus side, whereas Matt Gamble of WhereTheLongTailEnds.com is on the negative side. We mainly look at his earliest and most acclaimed film, BLOW-OUT, then talk about a rather goofy noir from the latter part of his career, FEMME FATALE. Collectively, we all have very different takes on De Palma and it makes for a really tense and enlightening analysis especially as we obsess over his filmography. During the what we watched segment, we also have a heated debate on THE TREE OF LIFE, and our guests talk about two new movies coming out within the next month or so, that we're both really excited to see. Let us know if you enjoyed this new format so that we consider this approach again for future episodes. Email us at: directorsclubpodcast@gmail.com. Also, you have two weeks to enter our Amazon.com Gift Card contest by visiting directorsclubpodcast.com. Thanks as always for your feedback and for listening!
