FenrusCloud and Mike Everett join Zac to talk about the past, present, and future of Infect. The conversation covers various matchups and strategies for playing Infect in Legacy. The present and future of Infect are discussed, along with the deck's similarities to Delver. The hosts share their experiences and insights on deck building, mistakes, and different variations of Infect. They also analyze specific matchups against Dimir Scam, Five Color Control, Temur Aggro, Temur Delver, Five Color Tokens, Boros Painter, Colorless Painter, and Four-Color Tempo. In this Infect Symposium, the hosts discuss various matchups and the future of the deck. They analyze the challenges of facing the Four-Color Garbage Pile, Eldrazi Stompy, and Mono Red Prison. They also highlight the deck's current power level and its potential for growth. The hosts emphasize the importance of understanding the meta and opponents' lack of knowledge about Infect. They conclude with their thoughts on deck builds and strategies. Takeaways The Four-Color Garbage Pile matchup is winnable but challenging due to the deck's high interaction. Eldrazi Stompy can be a tough matchup, but the deck's lack of removal and slower clock can be exploited. Mono Red Prison can be a difficult matchup, but the deck's reliance on specific cards and lack of interaction can be exploited. Infect is currently at its strongest and most powerful state, with Legolas being a game-changer. The deck's lack of popularity may be due to its difficulty to play and opponents' lack of knowledge about Infect. The removal in the format, such as Snuff Out and Plague Engineer, is less prevalent, making the deck more viable. Opponents' lack of knowledge about Infect can lead to free wins and favorable matchups. Deck builds should consider the meta and include enough lands to activate Lurrus of the Dream-Den.
