Tek & Prem dive into the Eagles 2025 NFL Schedule and take a look at the matchups and anomalies of it. The Birds are clearly an elite unit poised to push hard for a Super Bowl repeat, but they will have to do it through a gauntlet of a schedule this season. They play 10 games against 2024 Playoff teams and do not have one back-to-back at home. While there are no international games to travel for, thankfully, there are a slew of games on days other than Sunday and very challenging teams successively, at multiple points. So goes the nature of the NFL. Their leaders will carry them. The Phillies are back in action tonight at the Bank, coming off their first home series loss since last July. The rotation is elite and the bullpen is coming into form, but Bryce Harper is still yet to find his stroke at the dish. The supporting cast has helped lead them to a .581 win percentage thus far, 4th in the NL. The Pirates come in this weekend for 3 games, and although they are not a good team, they are a pesky squad with a knack for close contests. The Flyers have a new head coach, former Flyer Rick Tocchet, received with mixed reviews, and the Sixers will pick 3rd in the upcoming NBA Draft. The wait is over! The 2024 NFL season is here, and we're kicking things off with our focus on the Seattle Seahawks Week 1 matchup against the Denver Broncos. The offensive firepower of Kenneth Walker and DK Metcalf under new offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb have us particularly excited after watching the first team offense in the preseason. We thought we couldn't be more hyped for the start of the season. But it turns out there was an announcement this week that has us even more excited to see our team on the field for the home opener. What will the debut of rookie quarterback Bo Nix look like against the Seahawks new defensive strategies under Mike Macdonald? Will Grubb's strategy lean towards a high-octane passing game or will he balance it with a powerful ground attack? These are just a couple of the questions that we explore. Plus, a look at which Seahawks were signed to the practice squad after the 53-man roster was set last week. In the second half of the episode, we talk about two lists that had some of us riled up to close out the preseason. It's also pick'em season! The Chiefs draw the Ravens September 5 for the NFL Season Opener at Arrowhead and all that means is we have to listen to ridiculous fake hype the next 4 months promoting Lamar Jackson as Patrick Mahomes' equal. I kinda wanna barf and I'll explain why. Royals pitcher Seth Lugo, as of right now, is baseball's best pitcher. Sunday may have been his best performance of his career and the Royals now have 25 wins just like Cleveland. This is really getting fun. Meanwhile, many Royals fans are having trouble seeing the games for various reasons including the Bally Sports app which is frustrating at best. I've got your solution if you really want to see Royals games. The state of Missouri is all in for $69 million so far for the World Cup to come to Arrowhead, a stadium the Chiefs don't want anymore in a state it looks like they are leaving. How is Missouri getting so much so wrong on these stadium deals? Well... they're also coughing up money for a mixed use development project next to the women's soccer stadium after losing the men's team to Kansas. It's a mess, for sure. That creeper that worked at Hereford House and did sick things to the food people eventually ate is drawing national outrage. But is this sex freak worse than those that send their kids to surgery or provide puberty blockers and teach transgenderism to kids? I've got some strong opinions on how this food case outrage is misguided. Trump has a record crowd in New Jersey and Jerry Seinfeld has terrorism supporters walk out of a speech he was giving. Are Jewish Americans about to dump Joe Biden?

Matt Thomas and Ross Villarreal of The Matt Thomas Show react to the Houston Rockets landing the No. 3 overall pick during the 2024 NBA draft lottery. The pick comes from the Brooklyn Nets as a part of the 2021 deal for James Harden. The Rockets pick goes to the Oklahoma City Thunder from the Russell Westbrook trade in 2019. This is the fourth consecutive year that the Rockets have a top-four pick in the draft. The Astros won their weekend series against the Detroit Tigers 2-1. Justin Verlander bounced back in a 9-3 victory Sunday after a rough outing against the Yankees, pitching seven scoreless innings and giving up two hits and two walks while striking-out eight versus his former team. Kyle Tucker hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning to lead MLB with 13 home runs this season. The Astros are now 6.5 games behind the Seattle Mariners for the division lead. Spencer Arrighetti will start Monday as the Astros return to Minute Maid Park to host the Oakland A's. Matt and Ross also discuss the latest rumors surrounding the Astros, review the NFL season opener that does not involve the Texans, play "To Tell the Truth" and more.
