The Eagles head to Kansas City for a Super Bowl LIX rematch against the Chiefs in Week 2. Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid were thoroughly embarrassed last February for the championship, and Mahomes has never lost 3 straight games at any point in his professional career. The Birds are coming off a division win at home against Dallas and have their star lineman Jalen Carter back for this game, after he was ejected from the Week 1 matchup in the Spit-Gate incident with Dak Prescott. Jalen Hurts played like MVP-Jalen and made all the right moves last Thursday Night in the opener, after the Eagles raised their Super Bowl LIX Banner. He will look to lead the team to a 2-0 start and keep the good vibes rolling with Head Coach Nick Sirianni leading the troops. The Phils dismantled the Mets in Philly this week, completing a four-game-sweep and ending New York's hopes of an NL East Title. With their Magic Number sitting at just 5 games, the Fightins are in firm control of the 2 seed in the National League, which would give them a bye for the Wild-Card Round. The Royals come to town this weekend for a 3-game set at the Bank as the red-hot Phils look to keep truckin'. Segments include: VetPhact, Prem's NFL Picks. We talked about the Ryder Cup with Jimmy Roberts from NBC. The event is taking place at Bethpage Black in Long Island. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and starts with audio of Aaron Nola talking to the media and somebody farts and people laugh. Kyle Schwarber hit his 50th HR of the season as the Phillies beat the Mets again. The Yankees had a terrible 7th inning and lost to the Tigers. Daniel Jones was on with Pat McAfee and asked him what he learned in his short time with the Vikings. The Moment of The Day: Jerry talking like a space alien. In the final segment of the show, yesterday was 20 years ago that Gio walked in to WFAN to start the first day of his internship.
Hour 1 It feels like we are in the middle of a complete collapse by the Mets. The Mets are on the verge of not making the playoffs, and if they do make it, it will be short lived. To not get as far as last year after adding Juan Soto would be insane. They cannot let Sean Manaea pitch another game this season. Gio said they stink and have stunk for months. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with Kyle Schwarber hitting his 50th HR last night as the Phillies beat the Mets. The SF Giants won, also not good for the Mets. The Yankees had a very rough 7th inning and lost to the Tigers. Aaron Judge passed Yogi Berra as 5th all time in Yankees HRs. Buck Martinez had quite the critique of the Yankees during the Blue Jays broadcast. Chris Long talked about feeling old while watching the YouTube NFL broadcast. In the final segment of the hour, we took calls from Mets fans who have come to expect this type of season. Hour 2 Caleb Williams is using the same nail technician as Angel Reese. Gio's not sure if Chicago Bears fans want to read something like that. Boomer said he needs to get his head out of his ass and start listening to his coaches. A caller said this Mets season is karma for all the trash talking the fans did after they got Juan Soto from the Yankees. Jerry returns for an update, but first Boomer shows a picture from a Ryder Cup event he played in 20 years ago with a bunch of celebrities. Jerry starts with the sounds of the Yankees loss to the Tigers as they gave up 9 runs in the 7th. Sean Manaea had a rough outing in Philadelphia where the Mets lost again. Carlos Mendoza was asked after the game about the possibility of them not making the playoffs. The critics are out in Chicago as JJ McCarthy looked better in game 1 of his career than Caleb Williams did in start number eighteen. Ben Johnson talked about his struggles. Deion Sanders was asked about his starting quarterback for this weekend. In the final segment of the hour, C-Mac, who loves the Yankees, has officially given up on Anthony Volpe. A caller has a wager for Gio for this weekend's boxing match on Netflix. Hour 3 Who is more likely to win this week, the Giants over the Cowboys or the Jets over the Bills? Will the Jets offense look anything like week 1 or was that an anomaly? If the Jets can run the ball like week 1, they will be in every game this year. Gio wonders if Boomer was into the UAP video of a missile being shot at an orb and it bouncing off. We took many calls on the UAP orb. Jerry returns for an update, but first Gio asks him about the alien orb. The Jets are cutting Xavier Gipson because of his fumble this past weekend. Daniel Jones was on Pat McAfee and talked about his big game with the Colts and his poor play with the Giants. Micah Parsons talked about his move to Green Bay after camp. The Yankees had a terrible seventh inning and lost to the Tigers. In the final segment of the hour, a caller wonders if this Mets collapse will be worse than 2007. Hour 4 We talked about the Ryder Cup with Jimmy Roberts from NBC. Aaron Nola continued his rough season by putting the Phillies in a whole early on before the bats woke up and dominated the game. With the string of disappointing performances from Nola should he automatically be handed a starting spot in the playoffs or does he have to earn it?
In hour3, the WIP Midday Show is discussing what the postseason role for Aaron Nola should look like after another disappointing performance by the pitcher despite the win. Should he automatically be handed a playoff starting spot? Plus, Scott Franzke joining the show and a player the Eagles could take a flyer on.
On today's show, the WIP Midday Show is coming back this morning with a fresh mindset leaving the show yesterday furious over the sweep the Phillies suffered to the Mets. Tek & Prem discuss the upcoming Eagles season opener against Dallas next Thursday Night, and breakdown the 53-man roster. Some late changes were pulled off by Howie and the Front Office, with former Birds returning to the nest in Epps and Covey. The QB Factory also continues to churn. With the Cowboys defense losing Micah Parsons in a trade with Green Bay, it appears more likely that the Eagles soar offensively next Thursday Night, on Super Bowl banner night. Jalen Hurts continues to be slandered by losers like Cam Newton on national television. The march to repeat as Super Bowl Champions is almost underway. The Phillies bounce back from a nitemare series sweep in NY in a big way versus the Braves, pouring on a season-high 19 runs, including 4 bombs from Schwarber as he sets a new Phillies single-game franchise record with 9 RBI. It looks more and more likely that the NL MVP Award is his to lose. The biggest question heading into the final month of baseball is whether or not the Phils can win enough to secure the 2 seed, and avoid a potential Wild Card Series against the Mets. Munaf Manji and Griffin Warner talk MLB betting for Wednesday. The latest Dream Preview baseball breakdown opened with Munaf Manji and Griffin Warner reviewing tough recent beats before diving into Thursday's slate of Major League Baseball action. Early frustrations centered on bullpen management, where questionable decisions cost winning tickets. Griffin highlighted Bruce Bochy's choices with the Rangers, while Munaf recapped Jeff Hoffman's collapse for Toronto. Both acknowledged the natural ebb and flow of a long season but emphasized how frustrating late-game implosions can be when handicapping results were correct until the ninth inning. Attention then shifted to Thursday's card. The first matchup was Boston at Baltimore. Garrett Crochet's dominance, particularly on the road, was contrasted with Cade Povich's struggles at Camden Yards. With Boston in the playoff chase and Baltimore fading, the Red Sox were positioned as strong run-line value. From there the crew evaluated Arizona against Milwaukee, with concerns about the Brewers' bullpen health and Jose Quintana's crafty veteran presence. Both leaned toward expecting runs given Milwaukee's offensive consistency at home. Houston hosting Colorado drew skepticism about laying a steep moneyline price on the Astros when their offense has sputtered. Kyle Freeland's road history pointed to unders, though the panel admitted Houston needed wins to stay in the AL West race. Pittsburgh at St. Louis prompted a lean toward the under, with Miles Mikolas much stronger at home and Braxton Ashcraft offering upside. The Cubs and Giants series was pegged as a pitcher's duel between Shota Imanaga and Logan Webb, with a likely under in a low-scoring Oracle Park day game. Atlanta at Philadelphia carried the most intrigue. Cal Quantrill's move to the Braves and Aaron Nola's inconsistency created an opening for offense. Both analysts saw double-digit potential and pointed to recent totals easily exceeding posted numbers. The Phillies' injury issues, especially losing Zach Wheeler, added to the uncertainty but suggested their bullpen would be heavily tested. The evening spotlight was Yankees versus White Sox. Will Warren's inexperience and Davis Martin's limited ceiling pointed to offense in Chicago. With both defenses prone to errors and suspect bullpens, the over nine was recommended, while the White Sox as home underdogs were noted as live if their bats clicked. The missing line revealed Mets versus Marlins, with Clay Holmes favored to control the matchup but bullpen risks keeping the over attractive. Best bets were locked in at the end. Griffin chose Yankees–White Sox over nine, citing unreliable pitching and defense. Munaf went with Boston -1.5 behind Crochet's stellar road form against a struggling Povich. They closed with reminders about Pregame promotions, including a college football contest and Griffin's discounted 30-day package. Overall the podcast combined raw reactions to recent heartbreakers with sharp handicapping of Thursday's board. The hosts stressed the importance of finding value across moneylines, run lines, and totals while acknowledging baseball's volatility. Their insight showed how bullpen management, pitcher splits, and situational motivation shape betting strategy. For bettors tracking MLB daily, this episode offered guidance across multiple matchups and reinforced why patience, discipline, and line shopping remain essential for long-term profit Learn more about your ad choices. How should we be assessing the Philadelphia Eagles during Training Camp and this preseason? There are a ton of storylines to follow both on offense and defense. This week, our friend of the pod, Tommy, better known as Dose on Twitter/X joined the show for some in-depth analysis about where this Eagles team is at in terms of depth on offense, with the secondary, and much more. It was a great discussion as the Eagles regular season will be here before we know it!But first, the guys dove into some Phillies talk with Zack Wheeler going on the IR, Aaron Nola having a rough first start since May, and whether Alec Bohm can give this team some more offensive spark. (Approx. 6:20)From there, they discussed new system changes that are being implemented with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in the Flyers farm system, and how this may play a huge role in the development of young players. (Approx. 21:05)The guys then talked about the Eagles secondary, and how the No. 2 CB situation is playing out. (Approx. 28:55)What they threw down on the Table this week was a great, in-depth conversation with friend of the pod, Dose from Twitter/X, assessing the Eagles during this preseason and Training Camp. Who will win the Eagles No. 2 CB battle? Weakest link on the defense? What WR John Metchie will give the offense? A look at the tight end depth as well as the running back depth. The Phillies had a harrowing weekend in Washington, DC. They lost their ace, Zack Wheeler, potentially for the season. Aaron Nola got shelled in his first game back in three months. The offense was inconsistent. We all though Jhoan Duran was dead for a few minutes there. And yet, the Phils split their weekend series and went 6-4 on their 10-game road trip. Tom Kelly, Hunter Brody, and Ashlyn Sullivan in for the 94 WIP Morning Show debate Aaron Nola's performance this year and if it warrants the contract he has. Is Aaron Nola overrated? The Eagles trade for John Metchie III, a WR from the Texans. What will this mean for the Eagles WR depth? Will Johnny Wilson, Ainias Smith, or Darius Cooper be cut? Tom Kelly, Hunter Brody, and Ashlyn Sullivan in for the 94 WIP Morning Show react to the news from over the weekend that Zack Wheeler was placed on the 15-day IL for a blood clot in his shoulder.
