The Jets lose their opener to the Pittsburgh Steelers 34-32.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. NY Jets NFL Pick Prediction 9/7/2025 by Tony T. Steelers vs. Jets Injuries Pittsburgh defensive end Harmon is out. The Jets starters are healthy. Steelers have a slight injury advantage based on the Chao rating. NY corner Sauce Gardner was limited in practice but expected to start. Recent Box Score Key Stats Steelers at Jets 1PM ET—NY finished 5-12 last year. Aaron Glenn is in his first year as head coach. The Jets offense struggled with downfield passing with only 6.6 yards per pass attempt and averaged only 92 yards on the ground. Pass defense was a strength by allowing 62.8% completions for 6.3 yards per pass attempt. Pittsburgh was 10-8 in 2024 and eliminated in the wildcard round of the playoffs. The defense led the squad holding teams to 4.1 yards per run and tops in creating turnovers with second in the league on third down. The run game averaged only 4.1 yards a carry and league averaged at 7.2 yards per pass attempt.
