The Christian Emergency Podcast is a truly enlightening and captivating podcast that delves into the hardships and challenges faced by Christians around the world. Hosted by Andy Coleman, this podcast delivers a powerful message of truth and awareness amidst our perilous times. As a listener who personally knows and attends the local church with Andy, I can vouch for the genuine passion he exudes in spreading the truth and shedding light on the struggles of Christians globally.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is its ability to provide informative and eye-opening interviews. The episode featuring "Luke," a Christian leader in Afghanistan, was particularly impactful as it brought to light the existence of numerous Christians worldwide. The interviews conducted by Andy are consistently great, offering valuable insights into various topics such as the effects of the Covid pandemic on churches in Canada and other countries. These conversations serve as a reminder that Christianity extends far beyond our own communities and that we must remain aware of global issues affecting believers.

While this podcast shines in many ways, one potential downside is its focus primarily on persecution and threats against Christianity. While these are undoubtedly crucial topics that deserve attention, some listeners may prefer a more balanced approach that encompasses other aspects of faith and spirituality. However, considering its specific mission to address growing cultural hostility towards Christians, it's understandable why this focus exists.

In conclusion, The Christian Emergency Podcast is an essential listen for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by Christians worldwide. Through engaging interviews with experienced Christian field workers like Samuel Sey, Andy Coleman equips his audience with valuable insights into critical theory and how it poses dangers to the Christian community. This podcast serves as both an eye-opener and an encouragement to pray fervently for persecuted believers while reminding us of our role within the Body of Christ—a body that extends globally and still requires support. Overall, The Christian Emergency Podcast offers an invaluable perspective on persecution while igniting a passion for prayerful action within its listeners.

In May 2025, a video went out showing young Britishschoolchildren being prompted to prostrate themselves and pray Islamic prayers. This “instruction” is unfolding across the United Kingdom—and often. These lessons occur every week during assigned terms. Most parents – and most Christians – have no clue any of this is taking place. And when people do discover all of this, they recognize itfor what it is: indoctrination. How is it that in a historical Christian country, children are being conditioned in Islam? Mark Heath joins the Christian Emergency Podcast to alerteveryone to what is going on. As a British Christian and parent, Mark was shocked to learn that these “lessons” were being taught in the local school. He spoke up, and others must speak up as well. The Nevius Method: A Strategy for Strong, Self-Supporting Churches, with James Cha (Encore)

Indigenous Christians in Uzbekistan have a heart to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to other nations. Praise God! However, many are unable to support these missionary efforts themselves. Is it just because they are live in a less affluent region? Or is there something more at play?Local churches across the globe need to be self-propagating, self-governing and self-supporting. This last feature is often poorly developed or overlooked. James Cha, former missionary and Christian leader, joins theChristian Emergency Podcast to unpack what this means for the Church. The Nevius Method is a missionary approach that emphasizes these three themes, in addition to healthy theology. The method is based off the approach used by John Livingstone Nevius, a missionary to China in the 19th Century. His method made a big impact on how Christianswere discipled in China and Korea.James suggests that this simple approach, rooted in simple obedience, would improve the health and strength of many local churches today. This is true of churches in Central Asia, Africa and even the West. Listen and learn how this could apply for missionaries overseas and also in your local fellowship. If Christians faithfully tithe, even if they have little to offer, the effects are profound. On this episode, James shares from his personal experience to show how missionaries and Christians should consider incorporating the Nevius Method in their own settings. If you find this episode helpful, please give us a positive rating and review wherever you listen to your favorite podcasts. First we look to Nigeria, where it was recently admittedthat an attack on Christians in a recent Easter parade was done intentionally. Contrary to early claims by police, who insisted the 18-wheel truck slammed into thebelievers because of a brake malfunction, an investigation revealed that this was in fact a brazen assault. Also in Nigeria we discuss the recent killing of an indigenousmissionary named Peter Emmanuel. Peter was targeted because he helped a Christians convert who came to faith from a Muslim Background. In Syria, we look at recent intimidation efforts targetingthe Valley of the Christians and other Christian villages. We also discuss a recent incident where Christian college students were assaulted because they were in the presence of a fellow student, who happened to be a female. Finally, we wrap up with a look to the Sindh Province ofPakistan. A drought is wreaking havoc there, which is making life especially difficult for local Christian converts. The need for courageous spiritual leadership in today's Church is massive. But with too few of her leaders exhibiting these traits, what is the Church to do? Throw up our hands and pine away about better days? Absolutely not. Instead, Christians and churches must take steps to shore up our leadership gap. 96. In Days of Darkness: 5 Tips for Christians Preparing for Tougher Times

Many Christians around the West are perplexed by the times they are living in. Things at work, at school, on their streets – they're just not the same as what they grew up with. Spiritually things are downgraded. The same holds true for the culture in general, which is now hostile to the Christian faith and biblical morals. So much of this is new and alien. Many Christians have no clue how they should respond. What can they do themselves? And what can they say or do to help their kids? Frustration is growing, along with anxiety, fear and anger. How can Christians prepare to stand – and help the Church stand – in days of darkness? How can believers brace themselves for trials, and maybe even open persecution, in the days ahead. To help answer these questions, Andy Coleman shares five tips that ordinary Christians can use today to strengthen themselves spiritually for pressures tomorrow. These five tips borrow from his experiences working with persecuted Christians in some of the most difficult countries on earth. In those lands, the persecution climate is mature, but in many way similar to the milder but growing pressures in the West. These insights are drawn from a new book authored by Andy Coleman, which is scheduled to be published in May, 2025. In Days of Darkness: A Manual for Ordinary Christians Facing Unusual Times is a book focused on helping believers prepare themselves, their families and their churches for tougher times. You can pre-order copies of In Days of Darkness: A Manual for Ordinary Christians Facing Unusual Times at Barnes and Noble, Walmart, Target or wherever you find your favorite books. While the book will not officially launch until May 6, 2025, you can also order advance copies today. Andy will personally sign them for you, your friends or your loved ones. If you are a Christian and do not know the name Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, it is high time you change that. Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn was a Russian Christian, author and survivor of the Soviet Union's labor camps. He shocked the world through his writings, which exposed the horrors of the Communist camps. His works eviscerated lies and encouraged people to confront evil themselves. Solzhenitsyn's voice remains relevant for Christians today, as believers take stock of their cultural surroundings. Many of the societal ills called out by Solzhenitsyn have resurfaced in recent years around the world. An authoritarian impulse charges the air. Restrictions are ratcheting up on civil and religious liberties. How should Christians respond? It is precisely these types of questions that Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's writings can help answer. To help introduce all of this to a new generation of Christians, Ignat Solzhenitsyn – Aleksandr's son – joins the Christian Emergency Podcast. Ignat unpacks his father's story and reveals why his great works – like One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich and The Gulag Archipelago – are worth reading even today. For years, the Perspectives Course has been a go-to training option for Christians eager to learn about cross-cultural missions. Pastors, missions committees, future missionaries and even regular Christians hoping to learn more about God's heart for the peoples have benefitted. And while much of Perspectives is wonderful, you should be cautious about certain teachings embedded in the course. So warns Josh Manley, a pastor serving in the United Arab Emirates. Josh joins the Christian Emergency Podcast to highlight his concerns, particularly with Perspective's favorable treatment of Church Planting Movements. International Christian missions is both exciting and critical. Through evangelical missionaries, the Gospel penetrates new tribes, tongues and cultures. Churches are planted, people are saved from their sins – the Kingdom of Christ advances. As exciting and important as it is, few Christians feel like they have a solid grasp on the methods and practices that go into missions. Consequently, pastors, elders and everyday Christians have outsourced discernment for the missions they support to the “experts.” However, some of these experts have been busy implementing practices that align poorly with Scripture. Few in the supporting churches may realize what they are helping push, but it's time they lean in and learn. In this episode of the Christian Emergency Podcast, Pastor Chad Vegas returns to the mic to provide helpful insights into the true state of modern international Christian missions. What's really going on? Why do supporting churches need to weigh in? Not only does Chad explore some of the concerns unfolding in missions, but he also highlights encouraging new resources that can help address the issues. Christians today live in an era of great division. In some respects, that is good. The Church is being sifted. That which is false is being shaken free from the firm. But in some cases, division is simply destructive. In our spiritual war, our enemy exaggerates disputes to inflame infighting amongst brothers. We must be on guard against this. Andy delves into this important topic, noting that a strengthened Church will not be riddled with orchestrated division. If we find ourselves turning suddenly on brothers and sisters who were by our sides just minutes ago, perhaps we should hit pause. How can Christians discern whether they are being baited or Bereans? The Real David Platt, a documentary produced by the Church Reform Initiative, was recently released, exposing problems that have arisen at McLean Bible Church. The megachurch near Washington D.C. has grappled with many challenges since David Platt assumed its helm. David Platt, the acclaimed author of Radical, is what some would call a “celebrity pastor.” But what has become of McLean - the once vibrant, biblically grounded church – after the celebrity's arrival? The answer appears disturbing. The documentary reveals alarming insights and trends that began with David's arrival and continue to the present day. Unbiblical teachings like Critical Race Theory (CRT) were championed while concerned congregants were told CRT was not being taught. The congregational church was assured McLean was not affiliating with the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) – which would violate their church constitution – while leaders quietly affiliated with the SBC. The gaslighting was real. And so was the damage inflicted on what had been a bastion for effective biblical orthodoxy.   Since the documentary first aired, few voices have spoken up about it. Some that did simply dismissed the claims made, insisting those interviewed were sour grapes. They were disgruntled and petty. This was just normal church politics. We're not so sure. Joining Andy on the Christian Emergency Podcast to discuss why is Pastor Shane Pennington. Armed with a rich background in Christian leadership and international missions, Shane offers sound insights into the takeover of McLean Bible Church and its ramifications. The footage aired showcases a flock being deceived by its own leadership. Corruption, dark money and narcissism all play starring roles in this sordid tale. And the manipulation and spiritual abuse are patterns that all churches need to recognize if their fellowships are going to be shielded from similar stunts. They crossed the globe to make Christ known to Muslims in Central Asia. And today they help others minister to refugees, just as others once helped her frightened mom and grandma. Be encouraged. This testimony reminds us that even our smallest acts of kindness can make powerful impacts in the lives of others. God can use them to transform lives, families, communities and even generations. Egyptian authorities do not want Christians around the world to learn about the disturbing case of Abdulbaqi Saeed Abdo. Abdulbaqi is a fellow Christian who is languishing in an Egyptian cell. His crime? Being a Christian who converted from Islam. Abdulbaqi, a Yemeni, fled his home country after facing severe persecution once he converted to Christianity. In Egypt, Abdulbaqi lived out his faith and sought to help others come to know and follow Christ. It was these activities that ultimately landed Abdulbaqi in jail. Abdulbaqi has not been convicted of any crime. In fact, he has not even had his case tried in court. Yet for two and a half years, this husband and father of five has been kept behind bars. It is illegal under Egyptian law to hold someone indefinitely in jail like this. But authorities are doing so anyways. They hope no one notices or cares. Fortunately, some do care. One such person is Lizzie Francis, a British Christian who serves as an attorney with the Alliance Defending Freedom International. She and others on the ADF International team are advocating for Abdulbaqi and seeking to have him returned safely to his family. Listen in to this episode of the Christian Emergency Podcast and learn not only about Abdulbaqi's case, but also how similar pressures are pressing forward in other countries. This is not an isolated phenomenon and Christians everywhere need to prepare for similar challenges in the days ahead. Also, learn how you and your church can champion Abdulbaqi and his family. The United Kingdom is in upheaval. Random violence plagues Britain's cities. Mass migration transforms whole communities and erodes vestiges of the country's Christian roots. Frustration by the people has exploded into protests and riots. An increasingly authoritarian government targets its own citizens, punishes "prayer crime" and applies double standards. What is going on in Britain? How are all of these challenges hitting British Christians? Importantly, how can Christians process what they're seeing and respond biblically? Aaron Edwards returns to the Christian Emergency Podcast to share insights from his native land. He explains why the days are darkening for Christians in Britain, but also offers hopeful context for believers to consider. Following Christ may be costlier today, but our biblical impact can be amplified. Our light can shine brighter in the darkness. Smuggling bibles into the Communist East Bloc of Europe was a high stakes game back in the 1970s and 1980s. Back then, many Christians in the West had no clue that fellow believers under authoritarian regimes were actively persecuted for their faith. Some Christians did, however. A handful even took it upon themselves to try and help those suffering under Communism, by getting them Bibles and Christian literature. “Thomas” was one of those Western Christians taking risks to help the Persecuted Church. He and a small band of believers ran smuggling routes to equip and encourage the faithful. This is a part of Christian history that far too few know about. But the growing cultural pressures today resemble the authoritarian pressures endured by Christians under Communist regimes during the Cold War. So it's critical we ramp up our knowledge of this historical era. That is precisely why Thomas joined this episode of the Christian Emergency Podcast. Thomas relates his experience taking risks to help the faithful. Those risks eventually led to real costs, including jail time. A costly faith is what Christians need to ponder today. How can you respond to growing cultural pressures? What lessons can you take away from the believers who ran bibles behind the Iron Curtain? How can we collectively play small roles to help the Church stand? Listen in and learn fascinating insights relevant for today's challenges. In 1979, instability, violence and chaos reigned in the streets of Iran. Revolution followed and swept a new government to power—a government that was no fan of the Christian faith. Things looked bleak for the Iranian Church. Iranian believers found themselves under increasing pressure just as Western missionaries were being kicked out of the country. Many concluded the few Christians left in the country's “baby church” were doomed. But in a surprising twist, God turned the tables on the anti-Christian revolutionaries. Instead of shriveling on the vine, the Iranian Church blossomed under pressure. But how? Find out by tuning in to this week's episode of the Christian Emergency Podcast. Tat Stewart joined Andy on this encore episode to share what he witnessed as a missionary in Tehran in 1979. You probably never heard about Insider Bible translations. Don't worry. Few Christians, pastors or church mission committees have. But it's past time we learn about them and the risks they pose. Insider Bible translations remove or change Scriptural terms in an attempt to make them more attractive, or less offensive, to the Lost. These well-intentioned efforts have quietly spread into several missional contexts. But is it proper? How are Christians to make sense of what can be an intimidating, technical issue? Fortunately, help has arrived. The Arlington Statement on Bible Translation was published and provides a simple framework to draw clarity from the confusion. It's June. Which means once again Christians – along with people of all stripes – are getting bombarded by anti-biblical LGBTQ+ propaganda. Those pushing the saturation coverage are not interested in tolerance. Nor are they acting out of kindness. Powerful interests - corporations, governments and celebrities – are aggressively foisting this upon you, whether you like it or not. If you're like many biblical Christians, you're well past being fed up with this evil. But what can you do about it? How can pastors prepare their flocks? How can believers push back and speak to their kids? Returning to the Christian Emergency Podcast to speak to these issues is Pastor Michael Clary. He offers prescient insights for Christians needing answers. Michael and Andy discuss not only Pride Month, but also several related topics, including feminism, gender confusion, and even the recent Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). The Apostle Paul famously served as a tentmaker to support himself during his ministry in the First Century. What does it look like for Christians today to follow in his entrepreneurial footsteps? How can tentmaking serve Kingdom priorities in the rainy days ahead? On this episode of the Christian Emergency Podcast, Troy Albee – pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church on the South Shore of Boston – provides helpful insights from his own experience as an entrepreneur. Like Paul, Troy helped support himself while in ministry by identifying a need and developing the skills to meet it. In Trent's case, he launched a successful lock and key business – South Shore Lock and Key. Side hustles provide Christians additional income, flexibility and opportunities. Small business ventures also offer unexpected insights into spiritual principles. You may be stretched and face rejection. But you will also discover new strengths, while finding opportunities to mentor the younger believers around you and engage the lost in your midst.    Christians should not take all of this for granted. The cultural landscape is increasingly hostile. The workplace is too often a place where Christians are targeted and pressured to compromise.
