What happens when we stop praising God and giving Him gratitude?  Things start going wrong.  Things move from bad to worse and we can even end up in a place where God says to us, "I'm going to let you go your own way."One of the hardest things that we can experience in life is receiving the natural consequences of our bad decisions. WHEN and HOW does Pleasure+Work+Wisdom= ZERO?  Isn't Solomon and the book of Ecclesiastes just taking a pessimistic, negative view of life? Jesus' teaching had REAL AUTHORITY.  The crowd that heard the Sermon on the Mount was ASTONISHED at His teaching.  It was different than the teaching of the religious leaders.  Jesus' teaching could and should change your life.  If you came to believe in Him.While Joel and Ryan discuss some truths that keeps impacting them from Jesus' Sermon, we still will love to keep looking back to the Sermon, memorizing some of it, so that we can keep and applying its main points.  Many storms pound our lives, like the storm that hit the two homes in the end of the sermon.  The key to staying strong and standing, according to Jesus, is by faith as someone in His Kingdom APPLYING HIS TRUTH to our lives.So how well do you know the Sermon on the Mount?  How well are you doing at APPLYING its truths with your brothers and sisters in the church?  What steps could we take together to DO what is TRUE according to Jesus?  Let's keep doing these things TOGETHER!

It's too easy to be focused on ME.  And it's too easy to want to go the EASY way rather than the HARD way when it comes to living life.Jesus calls us to HIS narrow way, which is the way of LIFE.  And a life that is lived treating others the way that we would want them to treat us.  In other words, Jesus calls His followers to live a life of LOVE like He did.But we don't like narrow and we don't like hard.  We like easy and broad.  And what's easy isn't always best.  So how can we treat others well without making it about US, and how can we keep choosing the narrow path with Jesus?Listen as Joel and Ryan talk through Matt. 7:12-14 to hear what will help us keep walking on Jesus' narrow way.
