A lot of people thought the Kitchener Rangers had the team to win the Ontario Hockey League this season, but did anyone really expect a Finals sweep? The Rangers brought their brooms to Barrie and finished the playoffs with a tidy record of 16-2. Dan and Farwell have thoughts on the series itself and the playoffs that were, before moving into other issues including the defection of Ethan Belchetz to the NCAA and the arrival of private equity funding in the OHL (via Owen Sound). While the mood is decidedly 'woe is Windsor' with the looming loss of Belchetz and Nesbitt to U.S. college programs, fans are upbeat at the Bayshore as the new ownership group strikes all the right notes. Farwell and Dan might not be dancing to the music, though. Finally, though it's been said many times, many ways, we'd really like to see better behaviour in the arena. Yes, we're looking at you, OHL fans. The OHL Podcast is supported by Draft Kings Sportsbook. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. What an absolutely beautiful day it was yesterday! Cooling off the rest of the week with some rain and possible snow on Thursday. Last week, we had a kangaroo on the loose in Wisconsin…while a zoo in New Mexico had to delay it's opening after an elephant got loose! Speaking of Wisconsin, a priest who was arrested last year for child enticement & attempted sexual assault is now facing new charges…and a "teen takeover" at the Bayshore mall turns ugly. Elsewhere in the news, the Army is investigating the recent helicopter stunt at Kid Rock's house, and the US Military is building an underground complex beneath the new White House ballroom. In sports, the Brewers lost to the Rays last night, the Bucks play tonight against the Mavs, the results of last night's final two games of the NCAA women's Elite 8, the Chicago Bulls waive Jaden Ivey, and Tiger Woods doesn't want a driver. We let you know what's on TV today/tonight and we also talked about what's new on New Release Tuesday. In other sports news, the 49ers conclude that the power substation by their practice field has nothing to do with all their injuries, and the WNBA's Connecticut Sun is selling & moving. Grant Bilse of the Wisco Sports Show joined us just after 8am to talk about the Brewers hot start. Today is National Tater Day, so make sure you've got some tots or mashed potatoes on the menu tonight. Cool story about a woman who runs a teddy bear hospital, and a World War II Veteran is the oldest organ donor in US history! Hidden Valley Ranch is looking for Ranch-Bassadors to travel the world & preach the gospel of HVR, and we also had a new "Karen of the Day" Plus, a list of some survival "tips" that aren't true and won't help you survive in real-world situations. And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a woman who slept with identical twins and got pregnant by one of them, a woman who was busted driving while on a Zoom hearing with a judge, and a woman in Michigan who escaped from the back of a cop car.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This moment... this New Year... disturbs many. I want to share a disturbing moment from my autistic youth—and how I survived it. It weirdly relates to right now.At 70-something, this is the happiest time of my autistic life. Not chasing distant goals—just breathing in this fabulous moment here. This piece inverts Yeats' “Second Coming” to tell a personal story about my grandfather, sailing out to Montauk Point, and discovering that the anxiety of losing sight of shore gives way to something unexpected.Content Note: This piece addresses troubling family history and inherited complexity. My grandfather was a complex man who kept Mein Kampf in his nightstand. And who also took me sailing. Out on the water to Montauk Point, I'd experience overwhelming anxiety as we lost sight of shore. Just sky, waves, constant rolling. Disoriented, like a whiteout in a blizzard. But after an hour or so, I'd make my way to the prow. Wind on my face. Sun on my body. Salt breeze filling my chest. Quieting my heart.Who cares about sailing toward Montauk and its fabulous trees anymore? I'm busy breathing in this fabulous moment here. Thanks for reading #AutisticAF Out Loud Newsletter! Episode 170 DNA ID Replay Eve Wilkowitz While Jess is on winter break preparing new episodes of DNA ID for 2026, we are airing some of our favorite one part episodes weekly in what we call 'DNA ID Replay' episodes. These Replay episodes will air every week while on break with the exception of Christmas week. In this episode, we explore the case of Eve Wilkowitz which originally aired in episode 72. 20 year old Eve Wilkowitz's life was all coming together during the first few days of spring, 1980. She had a job she loved and a new boyfriend. Her daily commute into Manhattan from Bay Shore, Long Island was long, but Eve had plans to move into the city. Someone took all that away from her. After boarding the last LIRR train from the city to Long Island, Eve vanished. Her loved ones were frantic for three days, and their worst fears came true when she turned up dead in the backyard of a nearby home. Police turned her complicated love life upside down, and left no stone unturned. Their theory that Eve's abductor and murderer was a neighbor was correct – but they would not know that for decades to come. This week's episode is sponsored by Masterclass. In this episode we discuss the ins and outs of church revitalization with Jonathan Gluck, pastor of Garden City Church in Crestview, Florida, a church revitalization supported by Church on Bayshore.
In this eposide, we interview two Church on Bayshore members who serve as chaplains in the United States Army, discussing military life, the role of chaplains in the military, and needs of military families.
Send us a textA twenty-year reunion turns into a masterclass on survival, adaptation, and the art of playing for keeps. We sit down with guitarist, writer, and singer George Cintron to trace a line from a Puerto Rican household in Bayshore—where top 40 radio was the cultural gateway—to roaring Long Island clubs, studio sessions with heavy hitters, and a phone call that vaulted him onto arena stages with Enrique Iglesias. George shares how a gold-top Les Paul and theory class became real gigs, why auditions used to be about skill, and how the drinking age shift quietly gutted a thriving band economy. The story pulls no punches on today's bar math: band pay that never rose, owners who book by headcount, and hobby acts undercutting rates. Yet it's not a rant; it's a roadmap. You'll hear the Enrique break—how speaking Spanish got George hired to help form the touring band and teach phonetics to non-Spanish speakers—and what it felt like when Bailamos turned a summer tour into a year-end sprint. Then we jump to Trans Siberian Orchestra and the long-running Windborne Music shows, where Zeppelin, Queen, and Pink Floyd get rebuilt with a full symphony and a rock band at center. Charts are precise, subs are surgical, and the result draws multiple generations without diluting the punch.Woven through the tour stories are studio truths (why producers say “be yourself” then ask for less), candid talk about health and aging, and the case for steady rehearsal as the secret engine of great bands. If you care about live music, gig economics, and how players actually make it work, this conversation is a clear-eyed, generous guide. Is this a shot at Garrett Wilson & the Jets? It was a comment from Aaron Rodgers regarding DK Metcalf. Boomer said it sounded like a shot. A caller details how his Giants fandom made him late for work in the Twin Towers on 9/11. A caller said teams like the Saints should look at the Giants as a win. Gio said Jaxson Dart is the final life preserver for Brian Daboll. Jerry returns for an update, but first we talked about Boomer's golf tournament coming up on October 6th. We heard from golfer Tyrrell Hatton, who detailed all the alcohol he drank upon hearing he made the Ryder Cup team. It was an insane amount and then he got sick in the hotel bed. Caleb Williams was asked about his bad throws on Monday night. Dan Campbell met the media and didn't like the reporter saying his offense looks nothing like it looked with Ben Johnson. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about drunk Boomer at Boomer & Gio Live, and a caller needs advice on where to eat in Bayshore, Long Island.
Hour 1 We started the show with reaction to the assassination of talk show host Charlie Kirk and the 24th anniversary of the attacks on 9/11. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with the sounds of Detroit smacking the Yankees around. The Mets relief pitching stunk again as they lost again to the Phillies. Carlos Mendoza was asked if the team was demoralized. The Packers host the Commanders tonight and Dan Quinn was asked about the Packers. Malik Nabers was asked about always looking annoyed on the sideline. He said he has a ‘natural bitch face' and needs to smile more. In the final segment of the hour, Gio is excited about a documentary coming out called ‘Cocaine Quarterback'. A caller was happy Aaron Glenn cut Xavier Gipson after his costly fumble. Hour 2 We started the hour talking about the Giants as they head to Dallas this week. We wondered when we might see Jaxson Dart. If they have another bad half, they might throw him out there in the second half. Both Aaron Rodgers and Daniel Jones played great in week 1, which was just awesome for Jets and Giants fans. As much as we were impressed with the Jets, they did blow the game and let Rodgers stand up there as the victor at the podium. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Mets losing to the Phillies for their fifth straight loss. The Mets are not looking like a playoff team. Boomer said the Giants must get the ball in the hands of Malik Nabers at least 10 times this week. Richie Incognito said of Tua's performance: ‘Tua is ass. He looks bad'. In the final segment of the hour, we took a look at week 2 in the NFL and looked at some good teams that could start out 0-2 and whether those teams would go into panic mode. Hour 3 Is this a shot at Garrett Wilson & the Jets? It was a comment from Aaron Rodgers regarding DK Metcalf. Boomer said it sounded like a shot. A caller details how his Giants fandom made him late for work in the Twin Towers on 9/11. A caller said teams like the Saints should look at the Giants as a win. Gio said Jaxson Dart is the final life preserver for Brian Daboll. Jerry returns for an update, but first we talked about Boomer's golf tournament coming up on October 6th. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about drunk Boomer at Boomer & Gio Live, and a caller needs advice on where to eat in Bayshore, Long Island. Hour 4 We started with the 24th anniversary of 9/11. The Phillies ‘Karen' has still not been identified which is amazing in this day and age. We don't want anything to happen to her, it's just strange that they don't know who it is. Gio said kids have finally figured out that going to college in the South is a great idea. Jerry returned for his final update of the day and previewed Giants/Cowboys with comments from Brian Daboll. Russell Wilson talked about ‘being really freaking great today'. The Yankees bullpen was terrible last night. The Moment of The Day: Malik Nabers has a ‘natural bitch face'. In the final segment of the show, Gio said he heard NASA say there was ancient life on Mars.
