Serían aproximadamente las 11 de la mañana del domingo 11 de julio del 2021, cuando a escasos 30 kilómetros de La Habana, en el municipio San Antonio de los Baños, comenzaría un inédito y creciente fenómeno de protestas en Cuba. El cual sin lugar a dudas será recordado por generaciones. A esa hora comenzaba lo que popularmente llaman "la directa": videos en vivo, transmitidos por redes sociales, en el que se muestran varias protestas. Las cuales en pocas horas llegaron a esparcirse por más de 30 ciudades y aldeas del país. Del este a oeste de la isla muchos cubanos rompieron el silencio y salieron a las calles a protestar. Los retuits, las retransmisiones, las imágenes y etiquetas #SOSCuba #SOSMatanzas o #PatriaYVida hicieron el trabajo de amplificación comunicacional, que por décadas ha estado prohibido a los políticos que han intentado hacer oposición en Cuba. Manifestaciones multitudinarias, de alcance nacional, descentralizadas, simultáneas y principalmente juveniles. Extendidas por un territorio controlado por el que quizá sea el aparato policial más represivo y antiguo del hemisferio. Un fenómeno social hasta ahora espontáneo, sin un liderazgo articulador visible, que en pocos minutos llenó de imágenes el internet y de protestantes las cárceles. Con las horas el mapa de las comisarías de policía se les comenzó a llenar de puntos, indicando los focos de manifestaciones populares. La ola de protestas en Cuba, habían comenzado. Un fenómeno social aún en desarrollo inesperado para el mundo, pero también para el propio gobierno cubano. El cual además de mostrar sin tapujos el desprecio por quienes le adversan, ha decido bajar la cortina del internet desde el lunes siguiente para que el mundo no vea la ferocidad de su respuesta. Al margen de ello, algo cambió ya para siempre: por primera vez en 62 años, los manifestantes cubanos se apropiaron del espacio público y desafiaron la narrativa hegemónica del estado. Y cuando alzaron la voz, las consignas políticas fueron claras: ABAJO LA DICTADURA, LIBERTAD, PATRIA Y VIDA. La entrevistada Para poder entender este complejo proceso sociopolítico, me acompaña en este episodio Sussane Gratius. Politóloga y profesora de Ciencia Política y Relaciones Internacionales en la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). Investigadora senior asociada del Centro de Información y Documentación Internacionales en Barcelona (CIDOB). Doctora en Ciencia Política por la Universidad de Hamburgo con muchos años de labor investigativa en las relaciones entre la Unión Europea y América Latina. Con particular experticia en naciones como Brasil, Cuba y Venezuela. Con su sabiduría, abordamos distintos aspectos de la situación cubana actual. Y a pesar de las limitaciones de información, analizamos los orígenes de estas inéditas protestas en Cuba. Sus características principales y el impacto que pudieran tener de cara al futuro político de la isla. De igual manera examinamos cuál pudiera ser el papel de los distintos actores de la comunidad internacional ante estos históricos acontecimientos.
