We've got cowboys, Jedi, and gambling. What more could you possibly want? Do you like really good arcade ports about colorful gun-slingers shooting capitalists? We got it! Do you like playing casino games but without the money or actual casino? We got that too! Do you like Star Wars? Oh boy, we got it! We've got some history behind the company that made Super Caesars Palace, but not much to talk about concerning the game, cuz there isn't much to talk about. But is it at least as good as that other SNES casino game? The Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back has a lot to live up to after the first game. The fact that it's not on the cover of this one should probably give you an idea of what we thought of it. But you can listen to our opinions anyway. May the Force be with you and all that jazz. Zu nischig, nicht "Mainstream" genug, vielleicht auch ein paar kleine Schönheitsfehler... Trotzdem haben viele dieser Spiele einen Platz im Herzen derer, deren Geschmack sie getroffen haben. Die meisten dieser Spiele würden vielleicht keine komplette eigene Nerdwelten Episode bekommen, aber warum nicht eine Handvoll dieser verschmähten Perlen ins Rampenlicht rücken und ihnen ein paar Minuten auf der Sonnenseite zukommen lassen ? Diese Grundidee liegt Unter dem Radar zugrunde, dem Format, wo wir über interessante Spiele sprechen, die uns zwar gut gefallen, die aber eben nicht zu den ganz großen ihres jeweiligen Systems zählen. In dieser Folge sprechen Hardy und Stargast Fabian Käufer über zehn Super Nintendo Spiele, die ihrer Meinung nach mehr Aufmerksamkeit verdient hätten. Und diesem Ansatz kommen die beiden auch nach: Hier findet ihr wirklich viel Liebe für zum Teil sehr skurrile Titel. We discuss the differences between the arcade and SNES port (and why it's superior to the Genesis version!), the gameplay, the stages and bosses, and how it holds up today. So this week we had no choice but to focus on the obvious: EA is on their knees, begging for Walt's head's mercy, profusely apologizing for taking one of the most beloved IPs of all time, Star Wars, and shining a hideous light on it. Whatever your stance on the Battlefront II micro-transaction saga, it's hard to defend EA's sloppiness in handling the matter. Sure, yes, they're most definitely listening to fan feedback, but its hard to applaud them for that considering the fact they're going to flip that switch back on in (presumably) a few weeks and also since this whole situation was likely avoidable to begin with. Besides the Star Wars stuff, the fam is focused on the usual: this episode kicks off with some of the latest releases in gaming, followed by our thoughts on EA, a quick discussion about Nintendo Switch ports and a look back on Konami's Sunset Riders. All this and more on today's show.
