Week 7 is here and it is a big week for the Big Ten's undefeated teams. The premiere matchup on Saturday will be #7 Indiana visiting #3 Oregon. Both teams are coming off of a bye following close games the week prior. Andy Staples, Ross Dellenger and Steven Godfrey discuss this matchup and debate who they think holds the advantage. It will be a matchup of two top coaches in college football alongside two of the top quarterbacks in the game. The teams appear to be pretty evenly matched, but who will come out on top? Then the discussion shifts to the top team in the nation as #1 Ohio State takes a visit to #17 Illinois this weekend. Ohio State's defense is on pace to be historically dominant behind All-American safety Caleb Downs. Ross talks about his interview with Downs and his takeaways from that chat. The guys then discuss what Ohio State's road to the playoff looks like. Also, they discuss #15 Michigan paying a visit to USC. It appears the fans of both teams are starting to grow a little restless with their head coaches and Andy thinks that the fans of the losing team may start to jump ship. Later, we briefly step away from talking games because there is some important college football news to discuss as well. To start, Ross' shares his Congressional Minute providing updates on the SCORE and SAFE Acts. This is followed by the guys discussing the latest issue with the College Sports Commission and the new, single transfer portal window officially being announced. Then, they break down the latest drama in North Carolina. There was a lot of false information on Wednesday about Bill Belichick potentially stepping down, but who started the rumors and how did this all go so wrong for North Carolina? Finally, the guys make their picks for this week's I've Got A Feeling. Oklahoma, Clemson and San Diego State are who they are riding with this week. It has been a busy Week 5 in college football and there haven't even been any games played yet. Tuesday was a drama filled day in the state of Oklahoma. It was announced that three games into his 21st season, Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy was fired. The Oklahoma State legend had taken the school to unprecedented heights, but in recent years there was more struggle than triumph. Losing 11 of his last 12 games, and starting the year with a 1-2 record, that included a 69-3 loss to Oregon and a loss to Tulsa, appeared to be the final straw. Andy Staples, Ross Dellenger and Steven Godfrey react to the firing and discuss where it all started to go wrong for Gundy in recent years. Plus, some other news that came out on Tuesday was that Oklahoma's starting quarterback, John Mateer, broke his hand in Oklahoma's victory over Auburn and needed surgery. He is presumed to be out about a month, but no official timeline has been released. The guys discuss if Oklahoma can survive without Mateer, especially heading into the Red River Rivalry on Oct. 11. Can they still make the playoffs with a few losses if they look good when Mateer returns? Later, Ross gives us his report from the commissioners' meetings this week. Ross was on-site for the meetings where the College Football Playoff formats of the future were discussed. How soon may we get a new format or will we get one at all? It appears a new committee may be formed to help aid in that decision. A frustrated Godfrey chimes in with Andy as the guys give their thoughts on the proceedings. Plus, Ross gives us an update on the SCORE Act in his Congressional Minute. Finally, the guys discuss games. It is a loaded week of fantastic matchups in college football and the guys try to get to as many games as they can. They spoke Tuesday about the big game at Penn State, but what about another big matchup in Athens, GA as #17 Alabama visits #5 Georgia. Plus, top ranked Ohio State goes to Washington, #4 LSU visits #13 Ole Miss and #11 Indiana looks to keep their momentum going at Iowa. Then the guys give their picks for this week's I've Got A Feeling. Rice, Syracuse and the Notre Dame OVER are the picks for this week!Get ready for an epic week 5 with us at College Football Enquirer.
