Andy and Brendan have a lot to talk about for this Friday episode with the first round of the Cognizant proving to be a content bonanza. Billy Horschel was chasing alligators and criticizing the setup, PGA Tour Championship Management destroyed a once-proud event, and golf superstar Jake Knapp opened his week with a 59! The two discuss all of these topics and the storied history of The Honda Classic and remember how tough PGA National used to play. Andy shares the list of previous winners at the course and notes how many of them are top-tier legends of the game. Brendan rants about PGA Tour Championship Management overseeding the course and allowing the course record to be shattered on Thursday of the tournament. They briefly discuss the South African Open and HSBC Women's World Championship before diving into some golf news ahead of the weekend. Annika Sorenstam has thrown her support behind former Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott to take over as the LPGA commish, leading to all of the sports world mocking this idea. There's some debate about whether any worse choices are out there, and if there are, it's decided that there are very few. Andy announces that he's been invited to a watch party for the big LAGC vs. The Bay match on Monday morning Pacific Time and wonders if he should make an appearance. In Golf Advice, a late submission commiserates with Andy about Jake Knapp's 59 and an emailer asks for advice on an upcoming golf trip. To end this episode, PJ has a short Flashback Friday about the 1971 PGA Championship at the original PGA National, the first time the event was held in February.

Prioritizing long-term fitness over short-term pleasures is the key to achieving your goals. Fitness can feel good, just adjust your time scale. Feel Good Fitness: Prioritizing Long-Term Fitness over Short-Term Pleasures Are you tired of starting over every Monday? Do you find yourself constantly battling between instant gratification and your long-term fitness goals? You're not alone! In this episode, we're diving deep into the psychology of prioritizing long-term fitness over short-term pleasures, and how to escape the gummy bear trap. We've all been there: the siren call of the donut, the allure of skipping a workout, the "I deserve this" mentality that derails our progress. It's easy to fall into the trap of doing what we want right now, but what happens when those "right now" choices add up? Six months down the line, are you closer to or further from the body and health you truly desire? This episode explores the crucial concept of the time domain in fitness. We often think about our goals in terms of what we want immediately, neglecting the bigger picture. We'll help you dissect your true desires, peeling back the layers of "I want a 6-pack" or "I want to weigh X" to uncover the deeper "I don't wants" – the feelings of bloat, guilt, low energy, and lack of capability that drive your long-term vision. How to Prioritize Long-Term Fitness over Short-Term Pleasures The Gummy Bear Trap: What it is and how it sabotages your fitness goals. We'll explain how focusing on short-term pleasures can lead to long-term dissatisfaction. Identifying Your True "I Wants": It's more than just aesthetics. We'll guide you through a process of discovering the deeper motivations behind your fitness goals – the feelings of health, strength, confidence, and well-being you're truly seeking. Mastering the Time Domain: Learn how to shift your mindset from immediate gratification to long-term vision. We'll explore practical strategies for aligning your actions with your goals. The Power of "Peeling Back": Discover how to analyze your goals and understand the underlying "I don't wants" that are driving them. The MED (Minimum Effective Dose) for Long-Term Success: We'll discuss how you don't need to go to extremes to see results. Identify the key changes that will have the biggest impact on your fitness journey. Honing Your "Feel Good" Skills: Learn to recognize and appreciate the positive feelings associated with healthy behaviors. It's not just about white-knuckle discipline; it's about enjoying the process. The Importance of Self-Awareness: Pay attention to how your body feels after certain actions. Develop a deeper understanding of how your choices impact your well-being. Playing with the Time Domain: Experiment with different approaches and find what works best for you. Fitness is a journey, not a race. Key Takeaways: Prioritizing long-term fitness over short-term pleasures requires a shift in mindset and a deep understanding of your true goals. It's not about deprivation; it's about making conscious choices that align with your vision. Small, consistent changes can lead to significant results over time. Self-awareness and the ability to recognize how you feel are crucial for long-term success. PS - IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN TAKING ONLINE COACHING FOR A TEST RUN, CHECK IT OUT HERE. Carley Garner says the “bearish case is still there” for crude oil. She notes price moving towards the 200-day SMA, which she calls the “Rock of Gibraltar” because it's historically difficult for price to break through. Manny and Jonah analyse recent market trends and trading strategies in the oil sector. While the market has been relatively quiet but volatile, with crude oil prices settling in the high 70s per barrel, there is speculation around geopolitical risks - such as potential disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz and the impact of increased crude production in Libya. Manny points out that a sell-off in a specific part of the market curve, mainly due to excess supply and hesitant refiners, has led to a bearish outlook. She cautions about the potential bear traps, stressing that traders need to stay cautious when the market is unpredictable. Financial traders are heavily short, anticipating continued bearish fundamentals. Meanwhile, physical traders face an oversupply situation, leading to aggressive selling. The market dynamics show herd mentality, where traders follow each other, causing rapid price movements without substantial trading activity. Jonah compares this scenario to past market behaviours in credit and crypto markets, emphasising that the current range-bound state has pushed momentum traders into uncertain territory. Despite the bearish sentiment, they suggest that a small event - like a refiner stepping in - could cause a swift price rebound, advising caution.#oott #geoplitcalrisk #oilandgas #Israel #Iran #MiddleEast #Oilmarkets #bearish #beartrap #straightofHormuz https://linktr.ee/onyxcapitalgroup Follow us:YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@worldofoilderivativesLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/onyx-capitalgroup/X: https://x.com/Onyx__EdgeTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@onyxcgroupInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/onyxcgroup/

Macro strategist Larry McDonald, creator of The Bear Traps Report, says that the current economic situation is "very 1980s like," a condition that requires different strategies than what most investors have used since the financial crisis of 2008. In a '1980s recession,' a very hot economy keeps inflation ripping and pushes oil prices high, and leaves the bottom 60 percent of the population struggling to keep up, and he says consumers are starting to show that tension now. The conditions should be good, McDonald says, for industrials and the oil and gas industries. Kyle Guske, investment analyst at New Constructs revisits SweetGreen, noting that the recent jump in the price simply has increased the peril facing investors, which is unexpected because the stock was in the Danger Zone before its IPO in 2021 and subsequently became a so-called zombie stock for being on the verge of running out of capital. Plus, Sophia Titley discusses Live and Invest Overseas' index on the world's top 10 retirement destinations for 2024, and Craig Giventer, managing director of portfolio strategies at GYL Financial Synergies, makes his debut talking stocks in the Market Call.

LIV Golf took center stage this week in Jeddah as Anthony Kim made his return to professional golf after a dozen years. If you tuned in to watch in the middle of the night here in the the U.S., you saw what was to be expected, a very rusty AK. We will see in upcoming events what the future holds for Anthony Kim. Joaquin Niemann may be the hottest player on the planet currently as he got the win again. It was a big week for Niemann has also got invites to the Masters and PGA Championship this week. The PGA Tour kicked off the Florida swing with the Cognizant Classic at PGA National. With the course playing easier than normal, there were some low scores this year on what is typically a tough track. Austin Eckroat was able to handle the Bear Trap down the stretch during the Monday finish to get his first career tour victory. What some would call the first major of the year was Monday also as the Seminole Pro-Member event took place. We will discuss one of the most guarded events in golf as PGA Tour pros team up with business leaders and other professionals in this almost mythical event. How high schould you tee up your ball? We look into some research that was done and discuss how high players of all ability levels should tee up the golf ball for optimal distance and accuracy. Wake up wake up wake up! It's the first of the month! Andy and Brendan are downright bubbly with a double dose of cause for enthusiasm: a first of the month AND a Friday when it's time to record! They whiparound this episode discussing Rory's odd/facetious/threatening/all of the above comments about the Chubby mention of him potentially going to LIV. Then they discuss the woeful ratings for The Match and if that means anything about whether it was good. They discuss Anthony Kim's big reveal, the lack of juice around it in Jeddah, expectations, and a Jordan-in-a-Wizards-jersey reference is made. Also, did the PGA Tour take control of the Onda Classic and make it completely soft in order to cater to players. Are they further delegitimizing their product and abandoning the event's identity? The Bear Trap is dead. The Bear Trap is no more. Blame PGA Tour Championship Management. They close with a quick round of SGS Golf Advice on setting a quota for looking for a ball for your insufferably wild partner.

Shane explains why he would solve golf's distance debate without rolling back the golf ball, and proposes an alternate solution. This was a big win... a win Duke needed. The Blue Devils victory over Baylor was a crucial non-conference game for a team that didn't perform as expected over the first month of the season. But Duke has been a whole different animal lately and Baylor bore the brunt of it. The Duke Basketball Roundup does a deep dive into all the ways this edition of Duke is different from the version we saw a few weeks ago. The perimeter trio of Roach, Foster, and McCain were outstanding on both ends of the floor in this one. And we have a special shout out to Ryan Young, who had crucial minutes late in the contest to seal the win. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

D-Generation X has reformed on WWF Monday Night Raw and now they are here to take over. The plan is to make each member of DX feel important and have them challenge other top level superstars. DX opens the show and challenges The Rock, Stone Cold, and tells Mr. McMahon, “We're Taking Over!” Road Dogg ambushes The Rock when he arrives at the building and they lock him in the trunk of a car and drive off. When they get word that Stone Cole arrives, they split up to go find him. Austin has a series of traps that catch DX off guard. Road Dogg ends up in a bear trap, Billy Gunn gets caught in a snare trap, and X-Pac has the ceiling fall on him. Before all of this, DX claims there would be a new member to the group, however they set Kane up and beat him down. They say he will never join them. Also, after months of the Big Bossman harassing The Big Show and destroying his Dad's watch, he decides to get revenge in a parking lot. He drives a forklift into them while they are in a car and then drops a dumpster on the top of it! Plus, the boys discuss green Kane and the DEADLOCK Q&A returns!⦁ Deadlock Discord: https://discord.gg/E4BvR4W⦁ Deadlock Shop: https://shop.deadlockpw.com⦁ Deadlock Patreon: https://patreon.com/deadlockpw⦁ Deadlock Twitter: https://twitter.com/deadlockpw⦁ Deadlock Instagram: https://instagram.com/deadlockwrestling⦁ Deadlock Reddit: https://reddit.com/r/deadlockpw⦁ Deadlock Pro Wrestling: http://deadlockpro.comThis show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/5810608/advertisement
