Milyonlarca memur hakkında halen 1965 tarihinde hazırlanan ama maddelerinin büyük bir çoğunluğu daha hayata geçirilmeden 1970 yılında (86 maddesi) değiştirilen veya kaldırılan 657 sayılı Devlet Memurları Kanunu uygulanmaktadır. Bu yazımızda kamu personel sistemindeki sorunları ve çözüm önerilerini açıklamaya çalışacağız.

Nearly fifty years after the island of Cyprus was split between its Greek and Turkish communities, the conflict remains one of the most enduring in Europe. Once a British colony and now home to one of the UN's longest-running peacekeeping missions, Cyprus stands as a symbol of both the possibilities and the limits of international diplomacy.In this episode of Peace Matters, we speak with Professor Ahmet Sözen, a leading scholar from the Eastern Mediterranean University in Famagusta, about how the island became divided, why efforts to reunify it have repeatedly failed, and what prospects—if any—exist for change.We explore the evolving roles of Türkiye, the EU, and the UN, shifting demographics, the militarization of the island, and how ordinary Cypriots perceive the division today. From climate change to regional power politics, we ask: what would it take for peace to finally return to Cyprus?Guest:Ahmet Sözen is a professor of Political Science with conflict resolution and peace-building as his main areas of expertise. He was recently a Guest Professor in the Unit of Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. His experience over the last three decades includes participating in peace-negotiations from the first-track in Cyprus as a member of the official Turkish Cypriot negotiation team in the UN-led peace negotiations and active involvement in second-track peace initiatives. Our host Laura Wilcox welcomes Ahmet, an Iranian refugee to Turkey, for this episode of International Harvest. After a long and arduous journey over the mountains from Iran, Ahmet arrived in Turkey in search of a better life. He had no interest in pursuing any faith, yet when he broke his leg, he became a captive audience to his Christian brother's prayers. He relented and attended a church service where his brother preached, Ahmet's first time ever to attend a Christian worship service. He was struck by the sense of peace present at this gathering. Soon after, an argument between Ahmet and his brother focused on Jesus' unique call for Christians to forgive their enemies. Ahmet continued to resist the Christian faith until he attended a birthday gathering of believers from different nations. He kept expecting a fight to break out at the birthday party, because the believers there were from countries at war with one another. But instead, he observed their love for one another. He could no longer resist the draw of this God of true peace and sincere love.Now Ahmet works as a barista, preparing coffee with the secret ingredient of Jesus' love. He and his brother plan to eventually open their own coffee shop to foster spiritual conversations.The translator for Ahmet's story is Ashlee.
