Tot zijn irritatie waren het juist de ploegen die in de vlucht moesten zitten, die het gaatje dichtreden. Normaal was deze exercitie kansloos, maar MVDP bewees bijna het tegendeel.Indirect kostte het ook ook Pogacars belangrijkste helper de kop. De Portugees reed sinds Mûr-de-Bretagne rond met een gebroken rib en dat bleek er te veel aan: Ciao Almeida. En dat is een aderlating.
