In the context of personal development and life transitions, liminality is that transformative, in-between state where a person has left something behind but has not yet fully emerged into their new state or identity. It s like being in limbo and is often associated with uncertainty, ambiguity, and potentiality, but also creativity and growth. So, in relation to transition, we can say that liminality is a component or stage of the larger transition process. While "transition" refers broadly to the process of changing from one state or condition to another, "liminality" captures the experience of the in-between phase. For example, consider a career change. The overall transition might involve leaving a job, searching for a new one, and finally, starting a new role. Liminality would encompass that middle period after leaving the old job but before starting the new one where your identity is in flux, existing between the known past and the unknown future. This phase can be challenging and uncomfortable, as it involves dealing with uncertainty and possibly a sense of loss. However, it is also a tremendous period of opportunity for growth and transformation, as you are forced to reassess your identity, values, and desires.
Kara and Becky invite Samantha Kris to discuss how her career has changed as she learns and re-evaluates her priorities. Author, TEDx speaker, Head of People & Culture at Goalcast —all of these labels might describe some of what Samantha does, but how well do they really fit her when she herself is changing so much? Listen to us talk about the pressure to have something to say, and to say it well; the ins and outs of morning routine; the best advice she's ever received and how our individual empowerment relates to our responsibility for social change.

Welcome to the Books Made Me Do It podcast!
Most of us have been forced to do a total pivot recently not only in our business, but also in our personal life. Pivot is essential, especially in time of crisis. It helps us persevere and adapt to changes that we didn’t expect. To be honest, it’s not easy considering trying new things that you have never done before, but if you don’t do it you are risk of becoming irrelevant. I had a good discussion about pivoting, business and leadership with Samantha Kris founder of the Bossing Up group. It’s incredible to see her managing two successful Facebook group plus her own business at the same time. Everything is worth trying, new ways of doing things are available. It’s up to you to be open minded and do it. #124: Radical Responsibility – What the Heck is it? In this Monday mindset episode, we are diving into Radical Responsibility and what the heck it actually means. I am sharing daily messages on social media for the month of April and supporting my friend, Samantha Kris' #365daysofclarity challenge. Today I am breaking down what I will be covering this month and how I will be diving into this topic to help you to learn how to take Radical Responsibility in your life. Follow the # on Instagram and if you are ready to create change, follow along every day and let us know how you are implementing these changes in your life. In this episode, we discuss: In order to learn how to take Radical Responsibility in our lives, we must start by breaking down the stories, the shame stories and the limiting beliefs that we are holding onto. We must be able to break down and figure out what story we are buying into in order to write a new story. We are truly in a time and space where we are coming face to face with having very little control over what is happening to us with covid19. We never had control with our outside world, it is just a time where we are experiencing that we can only control ourselves and that includes how we handle and react to what we are given. Our response is under our control. Recognizing what we do have control of as ourselves, what are the things that need to change in your life as of today? What do you need to add or take away? In times of chaos, everything is changing constantly, so it is even more important that we focus on what is our responsibility to control. When we focus on taking radical responsibility for ourselves, we own what is ours to own, and ultimately, we become more powerful. This is how we step into our leadership potential and this is what the world is calling on us to do now.
