Samuel was still a boy, yet he faithfully ministered before the Lord under Eli's guidance. His mother, Hannah, continued supporting his calling by making him a linen garment each year. Samuel grew in stature and in favor with both God and people. Eli's sons, Hophni and Phinehas, were the opposite. Though they inherited positions of priestly service, they did not know the Lord. They abused the sacrifices, exploited the people, dishonored the Tabernacle, and used their ministry for personal gain. Eli confronted them verbally but failed to remove them from service or take decisive action. This sermon examines the difference between inherited position and genuine faithfulness. It challenges parents, church leaders, and believers to help young people serve God, honor the Lord above family loyalty, take ministry seriously, and respond to correction with repentance. God offers forgiveness through Jesus Christ. The question is whether we will follow Samuel's example of faithful service or harden our hearts like Eli and his sons. The Netflix docuseries Trust Me: The False Prophet introduced the world to Christine Marie — the cult psychologist and survivor who walked into Samuel Bateman's FLDS inner circle, gathered the evidence the FBI used to put him in federal prison for fifty years, and is still living in Short Creek today. The documentary couldn't tell you everything. This conversation can. This is the complete extended interview — all three parts in one continuous sit-down. Christine takes Tony through how she got inside. She and her husband Tolga moved to Short Creek in 2016 to film a different project entirely, and then Bateman emerged from the post-Warren Jeffs FLDS community and declared himself the next prophet. He let them in because he thought their cameras would make him famous. He had no idea Christine had once fallen for a false prophet herself, years before, and could read every move he was making. She walks Tony through the years of getting local police to do nothing despite watching her footage. The late-2021 recording — Bateman describing "the Atonement," three of his wives, one a minor, handed to three of his men — that finally moved the FBI. Julia Johnson, the mother she flipped, whose four daughters had been given to Bateman. The morning of the raid, and how the girls were pulled away from him before agents moved. And the part the documentary can't end on — that fifty years in federal prison hasn't broken his hold, and a number of the women Christine risked her life to save have walked right back to him by choice. It's the deepest dive into this case anyone's published. The full story, from the only person who lived it all.LINKS BLOCKJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Everyone else in David's life saw him as a mere shepherd boy, but God saw Him as a king! On today's podcast, Pastor Cameron reminds us that God's thoughts towards us are great.
On the Thursday episode of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by FanDuel and Edgar Snyder & Associates, host Adam Bittner welcomes Post-Gazette sports columnist Paul Zeise to analyze reports that free agent CB Asante Samuel Jr. will visit the Steelers next week. Would GM Omar Khan and coach Mike Tomlin securing a deal with the veteran make up for their quiet NFL trade deadline? Or would it still be reasonable for fans to want to see more new faces beyond Kyle Dugger and Marquez Valdes-Scantling? What are the chances Sameul ever arrives here considering broad interest in him from teams around the league? If the Steelers miss out, will they regret not adding a CB next to Jalen Ramsey, Joey Porter Jr. and Darius Slay Jr.? And what should we make of reports saying Khan was close to completing a deal for Jakobi Meyers or another WR to pair with DK Metcalf as a weapon for Aaron Rodgers? Our duo tackles those questions and takes stock of the Steelers' place in the AFC pecking order. Were the wins against the Colts and Patriots flukes because of the many turnovers generated in those games? And what will it say about this team if it can win in NFL Week 10 against the Los Angeles Chargers? Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Join us as we look at the rise and fall of David, Israel's most famous king. See how his life points us to Jesus and the better king we need.
Sameul was called to give the Word of the Lord to the people of Israel. This task began with Eli. It wasn't a pleasant to message; yet, he had to give it to him. We are called to do the same thing -- give God's word to people even when it isn't pleasant.
One of the more unsettling truths we find in the Bible is that God is sovereign over everything, including evil spirits. Today we'll look at 1 Samuel 16 starting with God's choice of David to be king, but then we'll look at His choice to send an evil spirit to Saul. Not for the faint-hearted. Join us! DISCUSSION AND STUDY QUESTIONS: 1. What does Samuel's grieve over Saul tell us about Samuel and his love for the Lord, the Lord's ways and even Saul himself? 2. What does the Lord say to Samuel in verse 7? What does this tell us about the kind of character that God honors? 3. How was David selected in verses 7-12? Why was this such a surprise to David's family? What does this tell us about God's view of a person versus everyone else's? 4. What kind of spirit did Saul now have in verse 14? What does this show us about God's judgment upon Saul? How did the podcast explain the possible reason for this? 5. How does this also show us God's sovereignty even over the demonic realm? What light do verses such as Judges 9:23, 1 Kings 22:19-23 and Job 1 also shed on this difficult issue? 6. Now let's glace at 1st John 4:4. What does this tell us about the protection that God gives to His people from the demonic realm? How does the indwelling Holy Spirit prevent a believer from being spiritually harmed by Satan and his forces? Check out our new Bible Study Guide on the Key Chapters of Genesis! Pastor Greg Wilt - 2 Sameul 21:10-11
True North is pleased to welcome our newest journalist and contributor Sam Sey! Today on the Candice Malcolm Show, Candice welcomes Samuel to the podcast and to True North. Sameul is a scholar and writer living in the GTA who focuses on critiquing and exposing Critical Race Theory and so-called anti-racism. Anti-racism sounds innocuous, but, as Sam explains, it is a racist and pernicious force that insists that race and group identity matter more than a person's character or abilities. It seeks to divide our society and promotes hate and resentment rather than cohesion and pluralism. Anti-racists advocate in favour of racist discrimination, and go so far as to accuse Civil Rights champions like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. of being “white supremacists.” Canadians need to learn the facts about Critical Race Theory so we can stop it from seeping into our education system and prevent awful bills, like Bill 67 in Ontario, from being passed into law. True North has brought on Samuel to do just that – expose this racist ideology and give parents the tools they need to stop it. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This is the episode is part 4 in a study on 2 Samuel. Everything is going well for David who is being faithful to God. David now resides in a fine palace and wants to build God a temple, but God says David's son will build the temple instead.
This is the episode is part 22 and the last part in a study on the book of 1 Samuel. In both of these chapters it would seem that people of God have been dealt a complete defeat. But neither defeat, even the death of Saul and his sons, is as complete as it might appear.
