separated life
gwot.rocks - God, the World, and Other Things!

The world despises the non-conformity of nonconformity, or the dissidence of dissent; it would have us be more charitable and not carry matters with too severe a hand. Death to the world, and burial with Christ, are experiences which carnal, fleshly minds treat with ridicule and contempt. Instead, the way and wisdom of the world recommends the path of compromise, and talks of "moderation." If we would follow the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, we must go right away into the wilderness of separation, and leave the carnal world behind us. We must leave its principles , its pleasures, and its religion too, and go far away to the place where the Lord calls his sanctified ones. How is it possible to come out and be “separate” while living in such a filthy culture as the United States of America? The Apostle Paul gives us the road map in the form of five rhetorical questions found in 2 Corinthians 6:14-16.Got Questions: What Does It Mean To Come Out From Among Them?Cut & Paste Personal Invitation to invite your friends to check out “gwot.rocks” podcast: I invite you to check out the podcast, “gwot.rocks: God, the World, and Other Things!” It is available on podcast players everywhere! What is the condition of the church today? Is the bride of Christ pure like our Lord commanded? Or have we compromised and sold our birthright for a bowl of stew? The church, made up of true believers, is to be the assembly of those who are the light of the world (Matt. 5:14) and salt of the earth (Matt. 5:13). But sadly, as we see the church compromise and the world’s acceptance and approval of us loom large in the hearts of many, our influence wanes to the point of being a non-factor in our culture. How did that happen? We allowed our focus to move from the Lord to ourselves as we judge truth by how it affects each of us. This is the current condition of the church. And it really should not be any surprise to us. After all, Jesus said it would be this way for those who live, like we do, in the Laodicean church age.Denial of God – Luke 17:26; 2 Timothy 3:4-5Denial of Christ – 1 John 2:18; 4:3; 2 Peter 2:6Denial of Christ’s Return – 2 Peter 3:3-4Denial of the Faith – 1 Timothy 4:1-2; Jude 3Denial of Sound Doctrine – 2 Timothy 4:3-4Denial of the Separated Life – 2 Timothy 3:1-7Denial of Christian Liberty – 1 Timothy 4:3-4Denial of Morals – 2 Timothy 3:1-8,13; Jude 18Denial of Authority – 2 Timothy 3:4What else does the Scripture teach about the condition of the church in the end times? What is the Condition of the Church Today? There are many Scriptures that show us the condition of the church at the end. And the major description of the church is apostasy. They have left their first love (Rev. 2:4). Let me just share a few with you.1 Timothy 4:1-3 – Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.2 Timothy 3:1-5 – But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! And there are many more. This should shed some light on the condition of the church today. If you want to know more, including how to soar in times of great compromise, keep listening. To download the slides to this message, click – HEREOur Latest Posts:475: How to Understand the Why Questions474: Time to Call a Sacred Assembly473: Self-Examination and Salvation472: Have You Experienced Regeneration or Conversion?471: How to Experience the Peace of God

The Bible is full of people that were called to be holy and to separate from the world around them. The author of Hebrews even declares that without holiness no one will see the Lord. Clearly God is calling us to leave our love for this world to draw near to Him. In this episode, preacher, author, and Pure Life graduate Dustin Renz looks at this vital subject and asks this question: what is hindering us from a deeper walk with God?

Welcome to the vision unpacking series. During this series we are unpacking the vision for the year. This year's vision comes from 2Timothy 2:3-6 and we have titled it "A Kingdom of Soldiers, Athletes & Farmers". If you think about it, soldiers engaged in warfare live a life that is holy in the sense that they separate themselves from civilian life and give themselves wholly to the mission at hand. That is what God is also calling us to: separate ourselves unto Him to be of service to Him in the work that He is doing in the world.

All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.” (Verse 12) It is not good for your body. “Now the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute or whore? Certainly not! Or, do you not know that he who is joined to a woman is one body with her? For “the two,” God says, “shall become one flesh.” [Torah: Genesis 2:24] “But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.” (Verses 13-17) This is why we need to commit to marriage before we have sexual relations. It should make us run away. “Run away from sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.” (Verse 18) It dishonors God. “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (Verse 19-20) ALL THINGS START WITH A THOUGHT What you think or what you image—all start in the mind: the soulish realm. You are a tripartite being. Just as there is a Divine Trinity: God, the Father; God, the Son; and God, the Holy Spirit … so are you a threefold personality: spirit, soul and body. Your human spirit interfaces between God and your soul (“nephesh” in Hebrew). Your soul comprises intellect, emotion and will. What you think or see in your mind (image or imagination) is the progenitor of what you will do in your body. That's WHY you must learn to control your thoughts and images. Learn to build a wall. Delete the BAD thoughts and images before they can spread, grow and develop into actions like cancer. Learn to take your thoughts and images CAPTIVE and CAST THEM DOWN. In 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 we read: “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshlybut mighty through God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” I used to live on my yacht and because of that spent a lot of time on the beach. At sunset I used to visualize the greatness of God from the expanse of ocean from the Pacific Coast westward. It helped me to think creatively. It reminds me of a story about a man who was on the beach and prayed to God, asking for God to build a bridge from California to Hawaii. God answered the man, “I can do that easily, but wouldn't you rather have something of more benefit to you?” The man thought, and answered, “Yes, God, can you help me to understand women?” The Lord replied, “Do you want that bridge to be four lanes or six lanes?” You can talk to God. He understands the situation. Ask Him for help. When you are tempted with sexual immorality, learn to say to the LORD, “Jesus, do you want to do this with me?” And, if you can't ask that question—or feel uncomfortable asking it—then you know NOT to perform the action. Just because it feels good does NOT make it good. In Genesis 3:6 we read that Eve thought the fruit was: Good for food Appetite Lust of the flesh Pleasant to the eyes Appeal Lust of the eyes Desired to make one wise Applause Pride of life But in 1 John 2:16 we read that, “For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.” And in verse 17, “And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” Here is a SECRET to help you. And … I think it is really what holiness is about. When you start your day, pray and ask God to give you the desire to please Him MORE than you want to lust, commit fornication or view pornography. In the USA, 77% of men and 25% of women either do watch or have watched pornography ... with a high percentage of those being people involved in the work of the LORD. If you have been—or are—operating in an alternative life style such as gay, lesbian, transgender, bisexual or queer, KNOW that God can deliver you. He will forgive you, cleanse you and give you a NEW start. Do NOT let people, institutions, philosophies or friends deceive you and keep you out of God's BEST for YOU—and out of Heaven. In the Torah, Genesis 2:24, we read: “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” The institution of the family unit—marriage based upon a man and his wife—was for procreation of the race: to produce children. This is why our bodies are made such: with a man's penis and a woman's vagina. And this is the only combination that produces a natural God ordained fertilized egg in the woman. Reading the context of Genesis Chapter 19 we can easily see God's view of—and the judgment on—homosexuality. Also, in Romans 1:24-28 of the New Testament, we read: “Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting.” I have a good friend who is in Heaven with the LORD now who founded and directed for years a powerful ministry in a large metroplex. He was a wonderful husband and father with a beautiful wife and children, all who still love and serve God. One time after we preached together he shared with me his testimony. He had been a male prostitute—a homosexual who hired himself out—and realized he was lost and on his way to Hell. He gave his life to Christ and was wonderfully transformed. He eventually married the girl who had witnessed to him which resulted in his salvation. And they lived a wonderful family life. I say this to share with you that you're never too far gone. Jesus loves you so much … He gave His life for you on the cross. His body and brain took your punishment … His BLOOD paid for your sins. Ask the Lord Jesus to deliver you. And if you want other help, counsel or encouragement, there are many places that will help you. And, you can always contact me at the Email listed above. I will be happy to pray for you. Remember—thoughts, images, flirting—all put you one step closer to the actions. Learn to stop them in their tracks. If you have a problem at the office with flirting or temptation, put a picture of your family—or a photo of the Bible or an Angel—on your phone or on your desk. Build a wall between you and the problem to keep the “fiery darts” of temptation deflected. Get involved in praying in the Spirit, in tongues, or in God's Work. Faith quenches the fiery darts of the wicked one. “Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.” (Ephesians 6:16) And … remember this BONUS: If you want to be used in SPECIAL works for the LORD, live a separated life. Study thiis: The Power of a Separated Life. Think these >> I want to please God – I want to be God's friend – I want to live holy! I trust teaching helps you, my friend. My story today focuses on the idea that we all have very different childhoods. But what if yours was so unusual, you had to hide it? In The Separated Life of Annie Good, we meet a woman who lies about the abnormality of her upbringing because the lie is easier to explain. Even to her boyfriend: In her defense, she had spent the first four weeks of their relationship believing it would never work out between them. He was, after all, a calculus major. During their first date he had tried to start conversations with her about social economics and politics before they were able to settle on classic cinema as a mutually satisfying topic. By the time she had realized her miscalculation on his viability as a long-term boyfriend and started believing in his potential, it seemed too late to delve into childhood issues. These were cases where the person suffered repeated defeat . . . as a Christian . . . in such areas as repeated sinful practice, lack of productivity, self depredation, or a false sense of inferiority. These were cases of sincere Christians who lived for the Lord, loved Him and feared Him, and who WANTED and KNEW they needed help. These were also cases where the person KNEW how to pray for the deliverance of others. One day, years ago, the Lord revealed to me how to share with people like this the principle of self deliverance. It was amazing. I trust this teaching will help you to help others achieve the COMPLETE FREEDOM the Master purchased with His BLOOD! This is a short, but very effective and useful, teaching. If the content of this message is not for you at this time, then save/file or print it out to have on hand so that you may access it in the future for someone who needs it. I have known cases where people have been "bogged down" in sin, poverty, or repeated defeat, and have been instantly delivered through using the information described in this teaching. You probably have never read the information contained in this teaching. The reason: lack of knowledge in this area. Other than the Lord Jesus Christ, WHAT PERSON can pray for someone with such compassion and determination - and intimate knowledge of the problem(s) involved - than one's self? Someone you know probably needs this message NOW. Think of someone you know who has had a repeated problem over a long period of time . . . or shorter, since having been born again . . . but has NOT received freedom from, or over, their problem. The content of this teaching may be the answer for them; however, there are CONDITIONS that apply:      1. They must be a born again believer;      2. They must believe in The Deliverer, Jesus: in His POWER and WILLINGNESS to deliver them;      3. They must know how to deliver others (even if they never have); and,      4. They must really want deliverance. MUSIC There are several examples of the practice of, and the provisionary promise for, deliverance in the Holy Bible, in the lives of Jesus, Paul and the apostles, and Christians today. Many of you are familiar with these, but for those people that aren't, I will describe some of them briefly here: JESUS "Then was brought unto Him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb [speechless]: and He healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both was then able to speak and see." [Matthew 12:22] In this case the combined conditions of being blind and dumb were probably the result of an evil spirit of affliction, as we know from this passage that the man had been possessed with a demon. Even in a Christian's life, although a demon is NOT possessing them - Christ is possessing them - their might be a case of a spirit of sickness afflicting them. Not in all cases, but in some cases! And the spirit can be dealt with successfully in the name of Jesus, thereby effecting their deliverance and resultant healing. "And Jesus rebuked the devil: and the demoniac being departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour." [Matthew 17:18] PAUL AND THE APOSTLES "And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: The same followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which show unto us the way of salvation. And this she did many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour." [Acts 16:16-18] "And God worked special miracles by the hands of Paul: so that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out from them." [Acts 19:11-12] NOTE: An afflicting spirit may be sent for other reasons than those examples above. It may have an assignment from the enemy to cause fear, a false sense of inferiority, or a lack of believing for success. It may be some SEEMINGLY SMALL stronghold that has kept the Christian from excelling, succeeding, or being productive over the years . . . or entrapped in a practice. MUSIC CHRISTIANS TODAY "And these signs shall follow THEM THAT BELIEVE, In My name shall they cast out demonic beings, they shall speak with new tongues . . ." [Mark 16:17] There are basically three (3) REASONS a person might want to utilize self deliverance.      1. They really want deliverance.      2. Nothing else has worked for them.      3. They keep having the same struggles and/or practicing the same unclean practices even though they INTENTLY REPENT after each instance. WHAT THEY NEED TO DO IN PREPARATION      1. Develop a REASON, a motive, for wanting deliverance. This is also something they can review, or reflect upon, from time to time to enforce the desire to remain free. Study "The Power of a Separated Life" by Apostle Handley. This may be obtained by going to the Archives in The Apostles Group and selecting this title dated February 14, 2004.      2. Know their deliverance is THE WILL of God and is part of Christ's ministry.      Jesus sent out his apostles to:           Preach and teach;           Heal; and,           Cast out demons. If a person knows Jesus Christ as their Lord, NO demon, NO evil spirit can have them! Jesus said, "If the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed." The Greek word here used for "indeed" [ontos] means "really, actually."      3. Study "How To Be Delivered" by Apostle Handley. This teaching may be obtained at www.realmiracles.org. This may also be accessed by login to The Apostles Group and going to the Archives. There you may select the newsletter titled "How To Be Delivered" dated July 21, 2002. (Or, type in the words "How To Be Delivered" in the "Search" box at the top of the Archives.) Deliverance belongs to the born again believer! To "deliver" is to "set free." Jesus said, "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." [John 8:32] Some people are bound by demons (spirits) of infirmity, or sickness. Self deliverance may usually be effected in the same manner described below in the section "How To Minister Self Deliverance," especially with the "laying on of hands" being visualized in self deliverance. However, some cases are not resolved immediately because of "hindrances" to healing. These hindrances, as well as "gifts of healing" are covered fully in the unabridged book by Prince Handley titled: Health and Healing: Complete Guide to Wholeness. MUSIC There are also demon spirits which bind people financially, and in other areas of life. Good News: the BLOOD of Christ is effective in these areas - as in all areas - of life. In 2 Peter 1:4 we read that God has given to us "exceeding great and precious promises: that by these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust." One other solution that I have seen successful in problems of uncleanness or immorality . . . the person has to really be serious and KNOW what they're doing . . . is for the person to PROMISE God they will never take part in that practice, or habit, again. "When thou make a vow to God, defer not [put off or postpone] to pay it; for He has no pleasure in fools: pay that which you have vowed." [Ecclesiastes 5:4] HOW TO MINISTER SELF DELIVERANCE      1. See yourself in the midst of that problem.      2. See yourself laying hands on yourself, exorcizing the demon spirit(s) that oppress you.      3. See yourself delivered [free] from that problem. SUGGESTION: You can also use the above to BLESS YOURSELF scripturally. That is, releasing the blessings of God in and upon yourself based upon scriptural truths and promises and with right motives: to build yourself up that you might serve the Lord more effectively, edify the Body of Christ, and reach the world for Christ! Also, to be a blessing to your loved ones. This is NOT a "mind game;" nor is it new age meditation or visualization. You are actually and literally ministering deliverance and blessing to yourself . . . IN FAITH . . . and through the power of the Holy Spirit. However, instead of praying for someone else, you're SEEING yourself in that place. It works! Real miracles result where Jesus the Messiah receives ALL the glory and His Kingdom is extended through holiness. What I have shared with you in this teaching is POWERFUL. I trust you will have many testimonies to share in the future of people who were helped with this. Let us know by email to: princehandley@gmail.com. Baruch haba b'Shem Adonai.
