If you want to know more about the standup bass, this is the podcast for you.

The following was the vision for a new kind of church laid on Pastor Steve Swan’s heart back in 2001 while in Jacksonville, FL seeking God’s will for his life and ministry direction. The result was the birthing of LifePoint Christian Church on January 27, 2002 in the Lake Mary/Sanford area for the purpose of leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Anybody need a miracle; a good dose of the supernatural? Well, if that stuff was still happening today the line would be longer than one for free debit cards in Louisiana. Too bad God doesn’t work like that anymore. Heal the sick, raise the dead, part some waters, undefeated season for the Jaguars. (Sorry, couldn’t resist!) Or does He? Hmmm??? Has God changed through the ages? Has His way of working in our lives and the activities of the Church taken the scenic path? As we go RETRO and study the first century church we can’t ignore the fact that God’s supernatural power was alive and kickin’. Things happened that couldn’t be explained in human terms. So what about today? What about your life? What about in our community of faith we call LifePoint Church? Rediscovering Godâ??s Heartbeat For The Church Retro is in. Sometimes itâ??s fun to go back to other eras to experience life as it was â??back then.â?? Sometimes itâ??s crucial! When it comes to church in the 21st Century, it is imperative we understand what Godâ??s heartbeat is for His Church. In this series, Retro Church, we will be taking a look in the book of Acts at the characteristics of the 1st century Church and how they apply today. The qualities Christ set forth shape our entire church vision and structure. Itâ??s my hope that through this study you will gain a broader understanding of what this â??church thingâ?? is all about and what your role is in Godâ??s Kingdom. LifePoint definitely has its unique thumbprint, but the core of who we are remains firmly fastened to the Church birthed by the Holy Spirit in Acts 2.Message given at LifePoint Christian Church, Lake Mary, Florida by Steve Swan, Lead Pastor.

Pop quiz. Name a handful of Sunday School lessons you heard as a kid that impacted your life. Okay, then name one. All right already, throw in church camp, youth group, private school. You can put your pencil down. Quiz over. I promise not to tell anyone your score. Mine would be embarrassing and I grew up in church and was exposed to all those educational environments. The greatest influence upon a child is their parent who in the normal walk of life lives out a personal faith in Jesus and shares life lessons on the move about following Christ. Opportunities to teach and train pop up everywhere – at home, ball games, in the neighborhood, while shopping, watching TV or listening to the radio together, while driving in the car, during dinner, at bedtime, etc. Message given by Steve Swan, Lead Pastor of LifePoint Christian Church.
