John's story is one of transformation, self-awareness, and the pursuit of authenticity. Once caught in the cycle of binge drinking and substance-fuelled nights, he reached a turning point—a moment of realisation at five in the morning, surrounded by people and a lifestyle he no longer resonated with. Though he never identified as an alcoholic, John recognized that alcohol had a profoundly negative impact on his life, pushing him toward change. With a newfound clarity, John embraced sobriety, replacing the chaos of drinking with a passion for photography and storytelling. What began as a personal outlet soon evolved into something greater - Hull and Yorkshire Daily, a widely followed social media platform that captures the beauty, history, and essence of his city. His creative vision became a source of purpose, allowing him to connect with his surroundings and his audience in a meaningful way.Beyond photography, John's journey of self-discovery has led him to explore personal growth, psychology, and the importance of environment. He speaks candidly about cutting out negativity, redefining social circles, and finding strength in solitude. His transformation extends beyond mindset—he has undergone cosmetic procedures, reshaping his outward appearance to reflect the inner change he has undergone.John's story is not just about quitting alcohol - it's about reclaiming identity, embracing self-improvement, and proving that personal growth is a lifelong journey. Through his work and his platform, he continues to inspire others to seek change, challenge societal norms around drinking culture, and create a life that aligns with their values.Click here to text our host, Matt, directly!Believe in People explores addiction, recovery and stigma. In conversation, he acknowledges the toll cannabis took on his mental health, contributing to psychotic episodes and leading him into emotional isolation. Smoking from morning to night, Ollie's life became consumed by addiction, and now in recovery, he emphasises how, despite cannabis's societal acceptance, its damaging effects can rival those of harder substances. Believe in People explores addiction, recovery and stigma. Welcome to episode 166 of The Autumn Windbags! Question of the Day, what is the Raiders biggest need heading into the 2023 NFL Draft? It can be whatever "biggest need" means to you. RJ's biggest needs are as follows: 1. Cornerback - Nate Hobbs regressed and he should be in the slot anyway. Need two starting corners but at least have some depth. 2. Defensive Tackle - Neil Farrell and Matthew Butler couldn't get playing time on a trash defense. Nichols and Tillery are place holders. Why'd we let Andrew Billings go? If this group can get their shit together the rest of the squad will look better. 3. Linebacker - Spillane and Masterson are cast off back ups while Divine Deablo hasn't developed but has some potential. 4. Quarterback - Jimmy Garoppolo is a placeholder and always gets hurt. If you don't have a franchise QB, you are looking for one. 5. Safety - Trevon Moehrig regressed in his second year and he's the only thing close to a starter on the squad. 6. Tight end - Austin Hooper and OJ Howard on cheap, one year deals. Only reason this isn't higher is the rest of our skill position players at tits. 7. Defensive end - God bless you, Maxx Crosby. Chandler Jones is staying for at least one more season. Malcom Koonce is not developing like we hoped. 8. Guard - Alex Bars is the weak link and Dylan Parham is likely headed to center at some point. 9. Center - Andre James for now. Need depth. 10. Tackle - Kolton Miller is a rock. Jermaine Eluemunor's job to lose on the right side. 11. Running Back - Does any team need six running backs? Only issue is did no other RB's get time because Josh Jacobs was so good or because they suck? 12. Wide Receiver - Davante Adams, Hunter Renfrow, Jakobi Meyers. One of the best wide receiver rooms in football. Depth is an issue with mostly undrafted/practice squad guys fitting a specific niche. 13. Punter - AJ Cole is a two time Pro Bowler. 14. Kicker - Daniel Carlson is the best kicker in the NFL. Shove it, Justin Tucker. The value of looking at mock drafts is picking up trends and seeing value of general positions. Soto has seen over 50 2023 NFL Mock Drafts and this one is his favorite: https://theathletic.com/4413880/2023/04/17/nfl-7-rounds-mock-draft-2023/ The Raiders pick Devon Witherspoon, Trenton Simpson, Sam Laporta, Colby Wooden, Aidan O'Connell, AT Perry, Jordan Battle, Jon Gaines II, Ryan Hayes, Chris Rodriguez. Purdue quarterback Aidan O'Connell looks just like Landfill from Beef Fest. In LV Raiders news, NFL Pro Bowl running back Josh Jacobs has NOT signed his franchise tag. How worried should Raider Nation be? Raiders rumors point to University of Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker is the number three quarterback on Raiders general Dave Ziegler and head coach Josh McDaniels draft board. Antonio Brown Raiders wide receiver briefly, explains why he fell out with Tom Brady. 2023-24 NFL Season schedule rankings are out. The Raiders schedule is the fourth toughest in football. This episode is jam packed with practical tips as host Cathy Booth, with the help of three engaging guests, explores how to get positive bell ringing stories into the media.First off, ringers Matthew Butler and Kate Flavell talk Cathy through their experiences of making the news - either after being contacted by local radio, TV and the press, or trying to hit the headlines themselves.Cathy then gets a very different perspective from interviewing journalist Andrew Napier, who very helpfully explains how things work from the other side.So if your Facebook post goes viral, or you have a great news story to share, this podcast provides the perfect preparation for your interview, photograph or press release. If you do get the call, just go for it - see it as yet another opportunity to bust that myth that ringing involves monks being yanked up in the air!For more information and photos see www.funwithbells.comThis podcast is sponsered by the Association of Ringing Teachers (ART). 1. Chiefs -Will Trent McDuffie change the paradigm for how the NFL views the cornerback position -Do you think George Karlaftis will become a similar, dependable long-term player for the Chiefs as Brandon Graham has been for the Eagles? -What does Skyy Moore bring to the Chiefs WR corps that Marquez Valdes-Scantling and JuJu Smith-Schuster do not? Can you see Moore becoming the #2 target for Patrick Mahomes at some point this season? -Who will make a bigger impact for the Chiefs defense this season: Bryan Cook or Leo Chenal? 2. Broncos -A lot of Broncos fans and FANalysts were lukewarm about the Nik Bonitto selection. What reasons, if any, are there for those people to warm up to Bonitto? -Is Greg Dulcich the ideal tight end for Russell Wilson? -Who is more likely to become a long-term contributor for the Broncos: Damarri Mathis or Eyioma Uwazurike? 3. Chargers -With Zion Johnson now in the fold, how do you see the Chargers starting five on the offensive line looking like come Week 1? -Do you share the view that J.T. Woods can be a similar third-round bargain for the Chargers as Justin Simmons turned out to be for the Broncos? -Do you see Isaiah Spiller making an immediate impact this season and if so, how do you see him and Austin Ekeler splitting the workload at RB? 4. Raiders -Do you see Dylan Parham starting in Week 1? Is his best long term spot at center or guard? -Would you be surprised if Zamir White emerges at the starter at RB for the Raiders at some point this season? 5. Looking at some of the prime prospects, Greg points out that most of them didn't play often on 3rd downs with distance.  Depending on the needs of the team, it will be interesting to see where these prospects come off the Draft board.  We turn to the prospects like Jordan Davis, Travon Walker, Devonte Wyatt, DeMarvin Leal, Phidarian Mathis, Matthew Butler, and Neil Farrell.
