Sedona Swan SoulfireComposer and visual arts phenom from Portland, ORI am honored you are here! It is my deepest wish that you experience our connection as supportive and inspiring. In this dynamic moment in our human (r)evolution , finding and maintaining vibrant and meaningful connections feels crucial. Please know that in this space you are honored, loved and cherished as the full spectrum being you are! I offer my work to you and to the world in honor of the mystery, magic and interconnection of life itself. May we ride the wild tides together, with open loving hearts, clarity of purpose and in embodied, empowered authenticity. In a world that has been so drastically out of balance for so many years I am committed to restoring inner and outer harmony in myself, my life, my community and in the world. I desire to help others do the same.Primarily I work with the feminine. I believe the world is desperately in need of the medicine of the awakened, embodied, fully expressed feminine. A huge part of my work is holding sacred space that women may activate a deeper sense of self-love and self-celebration. When women heal, we all heal.I do my best to recognize my privilege and better understand, reconcile, and repair the devastating repercussions of polluted shadow patriarchal-based “isms” - racism, sexism, ageism, classism, ect. I am dedicated to the path of learning from, listening to and honoring all members of my fellow Earth tribe family.I offer my work in the rich realms of ritual embodiment art, community circle, ceremony, movement and dance. Our bodies are divine instruments, transformational tools of high alchemy. I am here to provide encouragement on your personal journey of conscious, confident, compassionate connection to your body temple and your dance. I lead and guide sacred movement workshops, host ritual retreats and hold temple space, both in person and online.I am an artist of many forms, I write, dance, choreograph, direct, and share spoken word and prayerformance poetry. I am a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, the first performing arts academy in the United States. After graduating from The Academy my desire to deepen in the movement arts inspired two decades of study, travel, research and immersion. My discovery of Yoga, Bellydance and Classical Indian Dance were all monumental. Each of these forms inspired me deeply with their rich cultural essence, supreme beauty, empowered embodied expression and encoded spiritual wisdom. I have been so lucky to have had the opportunity to study with incredible teachers and lineage carriers throughout the many years whom include Rehka Tandon, Aida Nour, Colleena Shakti, Suhaila Salimpour, Ra Lalita Dasi, Prajwal Vajracharya, Swami Ramananda and Swami Satchidananda. I am Miss Bellydance USA 2008 and have won other various esteemed dance titles including Bellydancer Troupe of Universe and Bellydance Nationals Group Category Winner. I have appeared on various instructional and performance DVDs and teach at global online dance school Datura Online. I have recently made my way into the literary publishing world with my newly released Cosmic Dancer Oracle. In addition to my dance studies I am a 13 Moon Mystery School Initiated Priestess having gone through my initiations with the mystery school founder Ariel Splisbury I have also received initiatory training with Marguerite Rigoglioso of The Seven Sisters Mystery School and Elayne Kalila Sophia of The Priestess Presence Temple. I continue to deepen with the 13 Moon Mystery School Wisdom Teachings in Elayne Kalila's Enter the Mystery School and have recently been receiving tutelage around the ancient priestess art of anointing with Diana Dubrow of The Emerald Temple. www.sedonasoulfire.com

Suhaila Salimpour grew up caught between two worlds: the strict, Shi’a Muslim household of her father who passed away when she was 10, and the free-spirited Hippie fantasyland of her mother, renowned belly dance innovator Jamila Salimpour. By the time she was 14, Suhaila was the sole breadwinner for herself and her mother, traveling across the United States on the weekends teaching her mother’s dance method and creating her own revolutionary approach to belly dance. She also lived and worked as a professional entertainer in the Middle East, with residencies in some of the finest venues. She worked with musical ensembles of over 40 musicians, including Arab pop stars Ahmad Adawiya, Amr Diab, and Sabah.Upon returning to the San Francisco Bay Area in the late 1990s, Suhaila returned to teaching regular dance classes and developing the first-ever certification program in Middle Eastern dance. Today, the Salimpour School has five satellites run by licensed instructors in the United States, Europe, and Egypt, as well as a thriving global community of thousands of students, including the new Suhaila Salimpour Institute of Online Education. In 2019, the Salimpour School began its residency at Mills College, where Suhaila is also an Adjunct Professor. She teaches Core Dimension™ and Embodied Movement in the Department of Dance and Theater. In this episode you will learn about:- Growing up as the daughter of a well-known belly dancer and part of a Muslim family - Living and performing in the Middle East - Going through dance depression and losing your artistic identity - Reasons why Suhaila started a certification program - The Salimpour method of teachingShow Notes to this episode:Find Suhaila Salimpour on Instagram, FB, YouTube and website.
