DING DONG DING DONG DING DONG! It's WEDDING TIME at Says Who! Maureen is getting married and everything is fine. She has everything ready to go, nothing weird is happening in the world, and... Well, no. It's not exactly like that. But she is getting married. And so is guest Peter Sagal of NPR's Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me! Peter drops in to talk about hoping, coping, and making the news funny when everything is a raging garbage fire. Oh, and weddings! Peter is getting married first, so he wins. There's some real talk about depression and anxiety, but also the joy that is still everywhere. No really, it is! Also, Maureen's boyfriends plot to kidnap her at the altar! Will Sam and Carter crash the wedding? Who will be the Bride of Says Who? While all of this is going on, Trump has a summit with North Korea. Did you know you can bring your own toilet to a summit? You totally can! Can! Get it? CAN. Meanwhile, Dan, who is not getting married, is getting ready to go on a SUMMER ROAD TRIP all over America. Is he trying to escape? How far will be get? Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman and this installment marks my 26th episode of "VideoFuzzy," my twice-monthly progress report on cataloging more than 2,700 VHS transfers and digital recordings. In this installment, titled "Bringing the Thunder" I talk about the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards, hosted by Jack Black and featuring strong performances by Panic! At the Disco, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliot, Ludacris, The Pussycat Dolls, Jack White and the Raconteurs and many more. I talk about podcasts I've been listening to, including "Damn That Television," the "Reduced Shakespeare Company" podcast, WCBU's "Out and About" podcast focused on the arts scene in central Illinois, the official unofficial "Legion" fan podcast, "Voices of Deconversion," "Ask Me Another" and "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me," along with a couple more production-centered podcasts including "The Feed" by Libsyn podcast host staffers and "Build a Big Podcast" by David Hooper. Check them out! In my Classic Collection, I talk about a public television series I encountered called "Beyond Theology." I also ran into episodes of "Prison Break" and "Hustle." And in some old business, I broke into a new Frankendisc, repairing the fractured copy of "Gaslight" I talked about in Episode 25. In my Current Collection, I cataloged copies of "Interstellar," "The Martian" and an episode of "The Magicians." In What I've Been Watching, I watched full seasons of "Taboo" and "Siren," episodes of "Legion," "Superstore," "Bob's Burgers," "Brockmire," and "Full Frontal," three old episodes of "The Twilight Zone," a PBS biography of Nikolai Telsa and installments of "Civilization" focused on art and religion. Also, I saw Quentin Tarantino's "Death Proof," Aaron Sorkin's "The Social Network" and trippy '70s production "Logan's Run," and Marvel movies "Captain America: The First Avenger" and "Ant-Man." Also, I'm on Twitter! Follow me at @tjVideoFuzzy :)
A show recorded live at the Yiddish Vokh! We talk about our generation(s), share stories, and play games based on the radio show "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me" - only better, because it's all in Yiddish.
This episode was recorded at the North Bar in Chicago as the first show on our five-city Midwestern tour. What better subject to tackle on our first trip to the Windy City than “Chicago Bosses?” Our first storyteller was one of Chicago’s funniest comedians, Adam Burke (Doug Loves Movies, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, Put Your Hands Together). Adam told us a slightly disgusting story about his time working at a pub where his boss reused the beer that spilled into the trap. He also admitted to being very bad at construction. Shannon Noll, who you might know from getting threats for her live portrayal of Barron Trump, told a hilarious story about doing speed and being the best dishwasher one major sub sandwich shop has ever seen. Her story also involves fireworks and a very gross revelation about used kitchen grease. Like every creative in Chicago, Dan Sheehan (creator of the hilarious NOT A WOLF Twitter account) spent some time working for the online deals pioneers Groupon. His review of his time with the company is less that glowing. And Finally, Kyle Scanlan (The Whiskey Journal, the Lincoln Lodge) talked about his time working in sales, washing cars, and a boss who encouraged him never to give up on his comedy dreams. His story has an amazing payoff.
When JT and The Leon have to go make friends with the Pirate Clans, a deadly game of "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me" breaks out. Will our Exo-Contestants win a message from Barca on their answering machines, or will Typhonus show up and ruin everything, like he usually does. On this episode: fashion choices of the Neosapien Empire, the taste of scenery, and the hyper capitalistic nature of the Human Empire, and their need for disposable, cheap labor. The endgame is set to begin. Is Daenerys' coalition of the willing the squad to beat? What can Cersei do after her conflagratory masterpiece, and is she beholden to the second half of her miserable prophecy? What new brutality can we expect from Those Who Do Not Sow? What of Jon? Littlefinger? Arya? Sam? And will any of it matter against an army that grows as quickly as their enemies fall? Join Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me's Peter Sagal and Nerdette's Tricia Bobeda and Greta Johnsen as they discuss the future of our favorite medieval fantasy drama on premium TV, Game of Thrones.
Eddard Stark was an honorable man. That we knew. But now that it seems that R+L=J, what does that mean for Jon? What were the whispers that Bran was conveniently too far away to hear? Is the Cersei we knew gone forever, and if so, what is she now? And why is it only the main characters who seem to find the express ships? Join Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me's Peter Sagal and Nerdette's Tricia Bobeda and Greta Johnsen as they analyze the finale of Game of Thrones' sixth season, "The Winds of Winter."
And only one bastard remained. Also, is dragon muscular atrophy a thing? Is smirking becoming its own language? Can a giant finally catch a break? And did we find out just how loyal a hungry dog really is? Join Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me's Peter Sagal and Nerdette's Tricia Bobeda and Greta Johnsen as they analyze "Battle of the Bastards" episode from Game of Thrones' sixth season.
The Mother of Dragons arrives just in time to save her friends and their seemingly doomed city. (Shock!) Tyrion drinks wine, spouts bland dialogue and does nothing. (Gasp!) Arya somehow survives her wounds and the T-1000 that casually pursues her. (Heresy!) Is the show's lack of source material beginning to reveal itself in a not so appealing way? Join Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me's Peter Sagal and Nerdette's Tricia Bobeda and Greta Johnsen as they analyze "No One" episode from Game of Thrones' sixth season.
The Hound returns to the screen, but will he also return to his past form? Whom exactly is Arya fighting? Is it as fun to write for indifferent older characters as it is to hear them? And does Davos’ silver tongue make up fully for his desiccated fingers? Join Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me's Peter Sagal and Nerdette's Tricia Bobeda and Greta Johnsen as they analyze "The Broken Man" episode from Game of Thrones' sixth season.
Zombie Night’s Watch guy to the rescue! Just how does Bran avoid a frigid end beyond The Wall? What surprise ally has apparently joined forces with Bernie Sparrow? Is The Mother of Dragons actually the villain of this series? And is it too much to ask for one family dinner to pass without grandiose political gesturing? Join Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me's Peter Sagal and Nerdette's Tricia Bobeda and Greta Johnsen as they analyze "Blood of My Blood" episode from Game of Thrones' sixth season.
Just what has Hodor been saying, and perhaps preparing for, his entire adult life? Should we finally be taking the Iron Islands seriously? Are the White Walkers biological weapons gone rogue? Oh, and time travel. Join Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me's Peter Sagal and Nerdette's Tricia Bobeda and Greta Johnsen as they analyze "The Door" episode from Game of Thrones' sixth season,
Remaining Starks unite! What does the mini-reunion mean for Ramsay Bolton and his incessant throwing of shade? What does "Bernie Sparrow" have up his tattered sleeves? And just how loyal are the families of the North to the Stark name? Join Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me's Peter Sagal and Nerdette's Tricia Bobeda and Greta Johnsen as they analyze these and other topics from the most recent episode from Game of Thrones' sixth season, "Book of the Stranger."
The recently risen is walking away, but to where? What is Cersei up to in King's Landing? Just how good can Arya be at blind stick fighting after such a brief training montage? And will Max von Sydow ever let Bran get to the top of the tower? Join Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me's Peter Sagal and Nerdette's Tricia Bobeda and Greta Johnsen as they analyze these and other topics from the most recent episode from Game of Thrones' sixth season, "Oathbreaker."
Gasp! Well, the thing happened: What does it mean for Westeros? What of the Night's Watch oath? And did he come back...different? Join Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me's Peter Sagal and Nerdette's Tricia Bobeda and Greta Johnsen as they analyze this and other topics (Wun Wun! Hodor speaking the other words! Impossibly rickety bridges!) from the second episode of Game of Thrones' sixth season, "Home."

"absolute nonsense" [VALL] This episode is a little different. As you know, we alternate between interview shows and Burt and Scott discussing whatever comes to mind. In this case, we had a number of news-related items to stitch together, but we had help in doing so. This was something of a chowder, a goulash, a salmagundi, a boullabaise, a melange of content. First, Bob Katz, BSI ("Dr. Anstruther") joined us again, but this time he told us all about — the latest in the BSI's series of quadrennial conferences. This gathering at the Chatauqua Institution is not exclusive to Baker Street Irregulars; it's open to any Sherlockian who wishes to participate in a conference centered around art of all sorts. In this case, that includes theater, film, music and even podcasting (!). Plenty of food, drink, Sherlockian shopping, sightseeing and more. is a research assistant at the , where she's conducting a study of Sherlockians and their organizations, called "Celebrities, Fans and Muses." She is interested in getting in touch with Sherlockians from all over the world. If you're involved with a Sherlockian society — particularly if you lead one — please to participate in the survey. We subject Ron Lies to a Wait Wait Don't Tell Me-inspired quiz in which Scott does a mediocre impression, and then we get on with the news. The Editor's Gas-Lamp is "The Days We Envy" from Vol. 4, No. 3 of the Baker Street Journal from 1954. And our Easter egg contains some tales from Down Under and a surprise update on one of the earlier news items. Finally, we discuss Episode 95 in which we'll interview Jamie Mahoney and Leah Guinn, authors of A Curious Collection of Dates. And we brainstorm what we'll do in Episode 100. Paula Poundstone is one of the great humorists of our time. A beloved panelist on NPR’s popular weekly news quiz show, Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me, she alsotours regularly, performing standup comedy across the country. Known for her spontaneity and ability to engage with an audience, Poundstone has said: “No two shows I do are the same. It’s not that I don’t repeat material. I do. My shows, when they’re good, and I like to think they often are, are like a cocktail party." Paula's book, There is Nothing In This Book That I Meant To Say was published in 2006, and her new CD, I HEART JOKES: Paula Tells Them in Boston follows her first CD, I HEART JOKES: Paula Tells Them in Maine. In this radio interview, Paula talks about why she hates doing radio interviews, preparing for Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, what Robin Williams did to help her when she started out in comedy, how she discovered her talent for interacting with audiences and why technology makes parenting harder.

As a regular panelist on Wait Wait … Don't Tell Me!, comedian Paula Poundstone is perfectly positioned to compete on this week’s Wits Game Show: The Game Show Game Show. Paula explains the rules of fictitious games while one of the godfathers of alternative rock, Robyn Hitchcock, creates the pretend game show’s theme songs.
