This week on Bathroom Break Podcast, my guest is actor and musician London May. London is a highly regarded musician, best known as drummer and bassist with legendary singer Glenn Danzig's seminal goth punk group Samhain. During his long and continuing music career London's playing has been featured on over 30 releases and he has performed with such popular artists as Tiger Army, Son Of Sam (with Davey Havok of AFI), Lol Tolhurst (of The Cure), Lee Ving (of FEAR), Pat Smear (Nirvana, Foo Fighters), Exene Cervenka (of X), Dag Nasty, Cold Cave, acclaimed artist Doug Aiken, Boredoms, Reptile House, Jackass star Chris Pontius, Rikk Agnew (Christian Death), and Distorted Pony. In 2016 Cleopatra Records released "Devilution: The Early Years," a deluxe retrospective CD/LP of London's earliest recordings and in 2017 he joined the legendary Black Metal group, Ritual. Raised in Baltimore, Maryland, London May began his acting career early in Baltimore's renowned Children's Theater Association. After a long break to pursue a burgeoning and successful music career, London returned to acting in 2010, studying comedy improv at The iO West and classic theater with Uranium Madhouse, where he made his Los Angeles stage debut in "The Duchess Of Malfi." He was also cast in Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises," co- starred in the pilot episode of Ron Howard's "The Great Escape", and "Cold Sweat", a short directed by James Cameron's DP Paul Babin. Since then London has been busy with roles on The Disney Channel, Discovery Channel, Oxygen Channel, TNT, as well as leading roles in numerous films and stage productions (most notably in "Saw" director Darren L. Bousman's acclaimed "The Tension Experience.") London is also a sought after music video actor and he has been seen over 50 million times in various videos from Hilary Duff, Aimee Mann, American Football, Strung Out, et al. The madmen went and did it. Last week the creative team behind The Tension & Lust Experiences announced that they were taking on new partners, a company called AGBO -- which is The Russo Brothers' new company. You know, the guys who are directing Avengers: Infinity War. So yeah, that's some big news. And Tension creators Darren Bousman, Clint Sears, and producer Gordon Bijelonic sit down with host Noah Nelson to talk about what all this means for The Experiences now and in the future. Oh, and Joe Russo calls in during the show to explain why and how he got mixed up with all this. Plus: a word about our editorial policy updates.
This week brings the Play-Doh as we talk about Thayer's Quest, Nethack, Page Habit, PowerSpice Girls, ROM is alive, Debbie Lee Carrington, 4DX with ScreenX, The Tension Experience, Hawking in Westminster, Sandman Slim, Netflix gets a shrubbery, KB Toys returns, That What We Do In The Shadows, Truth Seekers, In Search Of, The Bone Church, Chambers, MaddAddam, God Friended Me and More. So Mmmmmmbop? It's time for a Geek Shock!
Director Darren Lynn Bousman spills his guts on how he broke into the business, found instant success with the SAW sequels, the challenges of remaking Mother’s Day and what it’s like chasing his own passions with Repo! The Genetic Opera, The Tension Experience and so much more!
On this special Valentine’s Day edition of the Creep Society Podcast... we bring you an amazing interview with the secretive creators of The Tension Experience and The Lust Experience. You might know Darren Lynn Bousman as the director of such films as Saw 2-4, Repo! The Genetic Opera, The Devil’s Carnival and more along with Clint Sears writer of Tales of Halloween, Crow’s Blood, and their upcoming film St. Agatha. Aside from creating films, they spend most of their time creating The Experiences which is part ARG/part immersive theatre... and completely groundbreaking. Kristin has been involved for 2 years and dedicates hours each day along with the community trying to unravel the secrets of a sinister cult/organization. We were granted a rare interview with the masterminds behind the scenes so please enjoy. We also discuss the most recent December Midseason event where things got real...lusty. Also, stay tuned for the end... some weird shit happens!

Last year in Los Angeles, a mysterious cult began recruiting people through emails, phone calls, and one-on-one consultations. For nine months individuals were drawn into the group’s web of intrigue, discovering that a young woman from Ohio had been taken in and brainwashed. In September, the cult finally opened its doors, and people had the chance to walk its halls and try to find the young woman inside — or die trying. The only thing was, none of it was real. The Tension Experience represented a key moment in the evolution of immersive entertainment. Combining alternate reality gaming, haunted house techniques, and a two-hour immersive theater show, it created what essentially amounted to a mini-Westworld: a persistent, fictional universe where the participant’s choices determined what happened next, and the line between reality and fantasy became so blurred it barely even existed at all. At this year’s SXSW conference, I moderated a panel with the show’s creators: director Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II-IV), writer Clint Sears, producer Gordon Bijelonic, and actress Sabrina Kern. During Horror’s Immersive Future: The Tension Experience, we discussed the evolution of the show, the ramifications for experiential storytelling, and how mediums like immersive theater and virtual reality can impact audiences emotionally in ways that film and television simply can’t. It’s exactly what you’d expect from a show that put hoods over people’s heads, kidnapped them, and asked them to kill other characters on-screen. -Bryan Bishop Learn more about your ad choices. Martin and Melinda are joined by Lenny for this special bonus episode. Martin and Lenny went through a live theater/haunted house type event, The Tension Experience, a horror themed interactive experience. This is the brainchild of Darren Bousman, a change in course from his previous work of directing Saw movies. Noah started NoPro when he decided that he wanted to find out more about the world of Immersive, and found there was no newsletter to follow. For the past few months in Los Angeles a mysterious cult has been up to no good... or so the makers of The Tension Experience would have you believe. After months of speculation and rumors the cat was finally let out of the bag when what appeared to be an Alternate Reality Game turned out to be the lead up to: an immersive horror experience. So that's a two-fer for NoPro. Our interest was piqued. Yet there was still little in the way of information on just who was behind all the cloak and dagger shenanigans. That is, until today. The Tension Experience pulled back the curtain for the LA Times and revealed its creator as Darren Lynn Bousman, director of Saw II, III, IV and of Repo! The Genetic Opera. We were lucky enough to sit down with Bousman a couple of weeks back to talk about The Tension Experience, how a filmmaker finds himself doing immersive horror, conspiracy theories, and his deep passion for immersive theatre. Oh, and we also talk about how hard it is to get a show up and running in LA. This is one of my favorite interviews in the who series so far. I hope you dig it too.
