If you're only just starting out in the beer world, it doesn't matter. Whether you're in your 20s, your 40s, your 60s, there is always a place and there is always a little niche that you can find. And I think that's important to retain and to keep hold of. Charlie Walker's adventures have taken him to the most remote and challenging places in the world. During this episode he shares stories from his epic 43,000-mile cycle tour, spanning across Europe, Asia, and Africa. But his adventures are not just taken on a bike - he has also trekked across Papua New Guinea, hiked in the Siberian Arctic, paddled down a tributary of the Congo River and recently cycled (or hike a biked!) through the Gola Rainforest in West Africa.These adventures haven't all been smooth sailing. Indeed, Charlie has faced moments of extreme hardship, including an imprisonment in a Siberian detention centre in 2022 - within weeks of Russia invading Ukraine. Charlie also reflects on the awe-inspiring moments he's been lucky to have due to his adventures - enjoying times of pure solitude and the feelings of being alone in a vast and empty landscape. In this week's episode of the ESG Insider podcast we sit down with Steve Howard, Vice Chair of Sustainability for Singapore-based Temasek, a global investment firm with a net portfolio value of $287 billion as of March 31, 2023.  Steve was a keynote speaker at the annual S&P Global Sustainable1 Summit in London May 8. In an interview on the sidelines of the event, he explains the green investment opportunities and challenges Temasek sees in emerging markets.   "We've got huge need with 700 million people or so lacking energy access," Steve says. "There's an imperative to help people get out of poverty, have really the resilience in their life of access to energy and cooling and mobility and secure food supplies ... now the technology is there, so we need to mobilize more capital."
