Hello everyone, happy Friday, and welcome to Noles News Now presented by Tomahawk Nation-- I'm Perry Kostidakis, and heading into the weekend, here's the latest in Florida State athletics. Kicking things off, on Wednesday No. 3 FSU softball beat No. 11 UF via a walk-off homer, courtesy of Jahni Kerr. It was the first time in 16 years that FSU secured a series win over the Lizards -- the Seminoles are now 46-5 and wrap up the regular season this weekend vs. NC State -- our Gwyn Rhodes has you covered with a full preview on tomahawknation.com In football news, linebacker TJ Davis, who signed as part of FSU's 2020 class, was removed from the Seminoles' roster after being medically disqualified. While he was a strong scout team player, even earning Scout Team Player of the Year for the defense this past season, he only saw action in one game for Florida State. The 2020 recruiting class has now seen 10 departures, leaving 15 members still on the roster for now. The 23rd-ranked FSU baseball team will look to bounce back from a midweek beatdown handed down by Stetson -- the Seminoles take on Boston College on the road in what's a should-win matchup, especially with the season winding down. Parker Messick, slotted for his usual Friday role, dominated TCU last weekend with 14 putouts to help extend the Seminoles' national lead to 521 strikeouts. The fifth-seeded FSU beach volleyball team is competing in the NCAA Championships -- they advanced to the round of 8 after taking down 12th seed Cal Poly -- the Seminoles are matched up against 4th seed LMU, and that game is scheduled for today at 11 a.m. In other NCAA Tournament action, the 28th ranked Florida State men's tennis kicks off competition today against Georgia State -- women's tennis is also in action this weekend, taking on FIU We've got these stories, and much more, including a film breakdown on transfer wide receiver Mycah Pittman and the latest FSU recruiting offers and updates, on TomahawkNation.com Thanks for tuning in, have a great weekend and we'll see you on Monday. For our first Friday Face-to-Face of season 3, we chat with TJ Davis - perhaps better known as the no-good Juanito Bandito. Together, we cover everything from entering the creative field and gaining experience to taking atypical pathways and making opportunities. TJ is a writer, director, and entrepreneur. He has written, directed, and starred in numerous shows on the Pickleville stage over the past two decades, including the famous Juanito Bandito series. TJ and his wife Erin live in Smithfield, UT with their five handsome sons. In addition to work in Bear Lake, TJ and Erin have headed up Pickleville's touring productions, which include "Pickleville Christmas," a holiday tradition for thousands of families across the Wasatch front and southern Idaho. Other recent projects include two hilarious mini-series' available online and released under the "Happy Mustache Entertainment" brand. Learn more about TJ at https://linktr.ee/teejdavis, and check out everything Pickleville Playhouse has to offer at https://www.picklevilleplayhouse.com/.
In this episode, I talk to TJ Davis of the Pickleville Playhouse in Garden City, Utah. TJ and his family founded and run the Pickleville Playhouse and TJ writes for, and acts in, the plays and deals with the business side of the Playhouse and the Pickleville brand. We talk about how TJ came to be involved in the family business (hint: it wasn't in his first or second plan), the growth of Pickleville, Garden City, and Bear Lake, and the joys and challenges of live theater in a rural community. We end, as always, with the Road Trip Music Question.
cdrom covers Sonic R on this episode of The Strictly Sonic Show, the fondly remembered racing game with the cult classic soundtrack. But he's not alone, for he's joined by TJ Davis! The two chat about her music career, her time working on SEGA projects and answer a variety of questions posed by the RadioSEGA community. Come for the music, stay for the special surprises. RadioSEGA is proud to present The Strictly Sonic Show's TJ Davis interview!
If you live in Cache Valley, Juanito Bandito, a singing, rapping character — billed as the most infamous semi-fictional Spanish villain in the history of the world, is familiar. However, many locals still find it amazing that this bandit, trademarked by his mustache, stretchy pants, and shifting accent, is played by a basketball-playing, blond-haired, blue-eyed father of five from Smithfield. T.J. Davis created the Juanito character in 2008 as part of the summer Chuck Wagon's Wild West Showdown at Pickleville Playhouse, and he has been playing the part ever since.
